I forgot what you wanted to do on the shift linkage; was it a short shift kit, or new cables, or something else? I love the short shift I installed on mine. Also, I moved from Kansas to Atlanta once. No snow and twisties just a day trip away in the smoky mountains, you'll love it.
the shifter linkage attachment points at the shifter broke (at least that's what the cognoscenti speculate). i lived about half way between marietta and roswell while i was in college and got my first and only engineering job after graduating in norcross. i worked at a big retail warehouse in stone mountain getting my bs. i've done enough atlanta and only want to be closer to my sisters. 14 hours away now by beetle. lots of wiggle room in that 14.

@@redshirt-scotty hmm, I've heard of the plastic ends breaking. Didn't know which end of the cable was susceptible to that though. Good luck!
