JJRC claim in the spec sheet that their new US$75 Dji Mini 3 Pro Knock off X28 GPS Drone can fly out to a maximum flight distance and also wifi fpv range of 1,000m or 1km which for a drone under $100US would be impressive. Let's find out the REAL Live Results in my distance test! JJRC X28 GPS Available here tinyurl.com/JJRCGPS If you missed them, you can watch my previous videos here linked below Unboxing Overview ua-cam.com/video/gQcN4EWPo5M/v-deo.html Flight Test Review ua-cam.com/video/OGpYRP6WqQY/v-deo.html
Yes this drone was acting up a bit when hovering above me, had to make my own inputs to keep it from wanting to always go toward the tree for some reason. Thanks for watching Greg
Awesome range test Dave! Not at all surprising that the telemetry distance was greatly exaggerated. It is becoming very common on these budget drones. 300m though isn't too bad for WiFi. Attaching the cube cam was a great idea. The video looked better and it isn't going to freeze up like the WiFi app. I have the newest Holy Stone in for review. It is going to be their new top of the line drone that claims 3km range. I really want to see if it can come close to those claims but I'm worried about the FAA and fines for flying out of the line of sight.
Yeah i was very skeptical that it would reach the 1,000m claim as i have seen this sort of thing time and time again with these budget drones i have tested, the range specs are always highly exaggerated. Thanks for watching Ryan
it actually makes sense.. @@PERTHWESTOZRC. A quick convertor result online, shows that 1000ft is equal to 300m. I am sure you're aware of this, but many brands on bang good, claim its in meters, while in reality its in ft. Interestingly enough though, some brands on bang good, don't advertise fake in the ft/meters thing. (Forgot which brands don't but you can easily find it yourself).
Cheers for watching Dan, yeah it will read in metres for the first couple hundred but they have cleverly designed the app like others that do the same exagerrated telemetry to read roughly in feet there after but even that is incorrect. It read up to over 2000ft during this flight test which would be over 600m lol 😆
Finally I can see another installment of your review on this jjrcx28 drone, I find it interesting and truthful, now I can make my assessments, thanks to you. jjrcx28 is not a bad drone and could be an interesting purchase alternative, but honestly it can't convince me enough. I think my choice will fall on lyzrc l500. If I had to choose something else, I would have taken icat1 pro, which has a much better image quality even if it is less control distance, but it is nowhere to be found now, or they have doubled the price. If I wanted to make a slightly higher investment I would take the c-fly faith mini because from the reviews I've seen around it has an unbeatable value for money in my opinion, but I don't want to spend more than 80-90 euros at most for my first drone , which could also be the last. The idea of also obtaining the license arouses a certain interest in me and I am researching how to obtain it for free and legally, but this is all still to be evaluated, given that in any case the insurance for drones over 250 grams is mandatory and has a cost even if minimal. I like lyzrc L500 because in my opinion it is slightly better than the L900 pro se max, even if it doesn't have an obstacle avoider, it also has a nice remote control with a display that gives me the appearance of something professional, the only flaw is the video quality fpv that goes too jerky, but I could fix it with the subsequent purchase of a better quality wifi mini-camera to be mounted on the drone, I don't think it has problems holding it since the drone weighs only 188 grams and if I'm not mistaken it should be equipped with same engines as the L900 pro se max which weighs about 242, i could also make some changes to the antennas, for example putting them external and then who knows what else I happen to read around. A greeting
Well that was interesting. Seemed like a Geo fence of some sort. Definitely a little wonky. This one goes on my recommend to an enemy list. 😂 You however get an A for the review and successful tree and fence avoidance.😎
Well done! The second camera was a brilliant idea. I suspect the software could use some tweaks or updates. A firmware update would be nice too so manual control is possible. I doubt we will see it tho. I love mine but I'm using it well within its limits of what its capable of. I'd love to be able to install a 5.8vtx in it.
Cheers for watching once again Wayne, yeah i have installed this same little cube cam on other cheap GPS drones in the past to see what the REAL distance and ranges are on these drones because these companies tend to over exaggerate the specs, also another sneaky trick they have done that i noticed while editing this video is that the camera they fitted to this drone is zoomed in so much to give you the perception that you are flying out much further than you really are in reality, compared to the wide angle cube camera i used for the sd card recording you can really see the difference. Installing a 5.8ghz vtx would be fun to fly fpv with this so yeah give it a shot, why not hey! 🍻
No longer have this drone so cant remember the name, go watch my full review vid on this drone i probably mention it on there. You should have the user manual with qrcode to download the app if you bought this drone new
Cheers for watching Donnie, yep once again these companies that make these cheap , budget gps drones always seem to exagerrate the distances and wifi fpv range on these things.
You get what you pay for. Too bad they have to lie about the range. My buddy just bought this. I need to show him this video. I'm a plane guy so drones are not my thing, but it sounds too good for the price.
Hi mate, cheers for watching and yeah not sure why it was wanting to do it's own thing at the end, i had some control input but then it wanted to go back into the trees like it was back in GPS return landing mode, i even tried hand catching it before it wanted to go into the fence 😆
Yeah exactly, it's a shame some of these cheap drone companies make false claims about the distance these drones can fly, and also purposely make apps to make false and inaccurate readings. I have tested a few of these cheap wifi GPS drones by adding a camera to the top of them to record on sd card and they all fall very short of what is claimed online when working it out on google maps. Cheers for watching and commenting🍻

Mine came today, unbelievable for the price and because of your awesome reviews I was flying in no time.
Byford WA 😊
That's awesome Daniel I appreciate you watching and commenting mate, enjoy flying your new X28 drone 👍
I know that feeling all too well of fighting the wind and having the quad try to land where you don't want it to. Nice job of getting it back.

Good range test Dave, I agree it definitely looks like it’s reading in feet which seems to be the case as you know with several of these apps

Yeah it looks like it has a geofence capped at around 330m or just a little over 1,000ft distance range, thanks for watching Robert

Love your vids and appreciate them too mate, watching from Byford WA.
Cheers mate 👍
When 4DRC F12?
What app do you use
No longer have this drone so cant remember the name, go watch my full review vid on this drone i probably mention it on there. You should have the user manual with qrcode to download the app if you bought this drone new
🇮🇪 very good video brilliant
Thanks for watching John
ok, but does this drone have an sd slot?
No it does not
Great try, at least it hit a virtual wall. So you got it back. The hs175d was landing in a tree as well. Lol
Cheers for watching Donnie, yep once again these companies that make these cheap , budget gps drones always seem to exagerrate the distances and wifi fpv range on these things.

I'm a plane guy so drones are not my thing, but it sounds too good for the price.
That's why I test these things out to see if the claims are true or BS! Cheers for watching mate and happy New Year 👍
It looked like you had to work really hard
Hi mate, cheers for watching and yeah not sure why it was wanting to do it's own thing at the end, i had some control input but then it wanted to go back into the trees like it was back in GPS return landing mode, i even tried hand catching it before it wanted to go into the fence 😆
Yeah it looks like feet not meters..

This drone here was 75 bucks only goes 1 km can you tell me a drone that is just as cheap that will go farther than that that you would buy
If you watched the video entirely you would see this drone did not even get close to 1km that they claim.
I don’t know about that drone🤣😂🤣I will pass
Thanks for watching Ray
