    I made the terrible mistake of buying a "We The People" holster for my P95DC. There are so few IWB options for that model, so i compromised. Turns out, the holster sucked like everyone says. It had ZERO retention. The thing fell right out....UNTIL! Until i watched your video and tightened up the trigger guard. UH MAZIN'! Thanks, man!~

    Cool video! Thanks for showing us how to do this. I have a new kydex holster for my S&W 10mm and I'm not satisfied with the retention, especially when held upside down. I'll give this a try.

    I reshaped a Safariland 6360-83, from glock 17 to 1911 :) Both the ALS and SLS are working fine, just a muzzle is slightly protruding in front but barrely noticable ;)

      I am about to reshape a Safariland 6360 from a M&P 40 to a 1911. Any suggestions or Warnings you may have learned, would be helpful and appreciated.

    • @dangubas
      @dangubas 2 роки тому

      @@JS-pz8yp well, the adjusting mechanism is too forward for the trigger guard so a piece of kydex would be recommended to prevent the gun from dropping too low. Remove ALS first, of course, you need to heat it in order to reshape the catch from rectangular to more rounded narrowed look, so it could catch properly. I think it's ABS so be careful not to melt it. You may need to dremel it if any sharp edges left from reshaping. SLS is basically good, I removed that little tab protruding to the back in order to be able to lock a cocked gun ;) so in general, 1911 is narrower than squared striker so you remove the guts (ALS and tightening mechanism) heat it and gently press it. General shape stayed and just a piece of kydex added to the tightening mechanism and that's it. I'm hoping this was helpful :)

      @@dangubas Thank you, you mentioned a couple of things that I hadn't thought of. It's not the easiest holster to reshape although it's coming out pretty decent, I don't think the end result is going to meet my expectations though. Thanks again.

    Thanks for this, I just got a Neptune holster for a S2C, southpaw draw but they still have mag release on the left side even though the gun is ambi. Going to attempt to knock out a notch on the back side for the release using this method.

    Snake Doc,
    Thank you very much for this very helpful tip.
    I have a few questions though.
    Could you turn a non-light-bearing to a light-bearing holster with this method?
    If you have, have you ever done it before?
    Could you demonstrate it in a video, please?
    Thank you very much in advance.

      After some research seems ur kinda partly correct. There is glass stranded nylon framed pistols, but MUCH more common is straight polymer which has zero glass fibers added. As to the melting temp of polymer, I just don't know, hence my question
