I remember flying across this country, twice, to see this amazing spectacle. The 50th Anniversary version of the MSEP was my favorite, with the last float being my favorite part. To this day, I would still sometimes listen to the music from the last float while doing my cardio.
The part “In thousands of sparkling lights” with thank chord change still gives me goosebumps. This should’ve been part of the announcement from the beginning in 1978. I miss this parade but watch my own recordings to relive magical memories.
