Does this version have the Return to Oz one?
@@jenniferg2871 Or ladies and gentlemen! 😢
This, ladies and gentlemen, is the song I associate the most with Disney. I don’t care if this soundtrack is 30+ years old. This is the heart of Disney right here. My very first parade.
Amen!
relatable 😋
🎉🎉🎉🎉
Same here, still remember this when I was about 3 or 4 years old and it was my first trip to Disneyland(growing up on Disney movies I felt like I was home) and the parades there were amazing
Way before the internet gave us Nyan Cat and many more, Walt Disney and the imagineers gave us this immortal classic
I agree 1,000%
former parade float driver here! it was as awesome as you'd think. goose bumps each night, yuuuuup...
Thank you for the magic! ✨
I was in the Cinderella unit 1988 to 1993, first as a canopy carrier, then a court dancer. I did court dancer again in 1997 for the NYC ELP Hercules premier too.
This parade marked one of the happiest days of my entire childhood. My first time to Disneyland. 1978. The way the robotic voice just seemed to emanate from every corner of the park like magic. It WAS magic. I am literally bawling like a baby listening to this.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Yay!
From a 61 year old woman suffering from breast cancer, thank you so much for posting this. it brings back so many memories! I took every child in my family to this parade!💕

I tear up every time I hear that first synth note. :')
The TNT Raider same
Me too. Few songs make me tear up, but this one just brings out the child in me.
Glad I'm not alone.
i got the record when i was 5 after i came back from disneyworld...greatest thing i had ever seen and as a result i love synth music..and when i went back for the first time 3 years ago i was in tears
not the original for sure
The goosebumps to hearing this song are real.
+Rebellious Brony Seriously! Ugh miss my childhood
u can always go back to disney
Rebellious Brony They got rid of it though it is now in Disneyland.
It's BACK!!!!!!

It's so kind of Joe Hawley to support small artists like Disney by sampling them in one of his songs ❤❤

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls! Disneyland proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination. In thousand of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. The Main Street Electrical Parade!

It just makes me so nostalgic
Fuck You Disney and all the gringo Culture 😎
My man Jean-Jacques Perrey was behind this masterpiece the whole time, and I never knew.
BTW the technology to pull this off in the theme parks was groundbreaking for the time. As the parade moved through the park, the soundtrack would follow it in sync. If you know anything about presenting audio over a large area this was ASTONISHING. :)
How many audio play zones were there?

If youre in Disneyland and you hear this, you know its boutta get real. absolute banger.
I heard they stopped since 2010.. I went to this parade in 2004, next week I’m taking my children for the first time but unfortunately they will not be able to experience this parade :(
@@lpmtzq i went last in 2017 and saw the parade, so you might get lucky

@@lpmtzq so how was it? I just went two weeks ago and I got to see the parade I heard that you won’t get to see it after September 1st since it’s going back to Disney world not sure tho
@@51oo.d i just came back last week. It was amazing! Thank goodness we were able to see it! They changed a few things here and there but not so much. I saw it at Disneyland though, when i first saw it as a kid it was at California adventure but yes we saw it ❤️
It's really a shame, they should really recycle these shows every now and then, like every couple months or so, so the younger generations can experience this live. It was just amazing seeing this as a kid.

I listen to this with many tears falling down my cheeks and the memories flood my mind of my momma and how much she loved this parade. I lost her this October..I'll cherish this parade always mom!!?😢😢😢😢
I'd give anything to hear my momma's voice again then any other sound in the world.
I'm 37 years old, but this song still brings a smile to my face, I grew up with this and will never forget it.
Back in 1990, sadly, my wife divorced me. I told my two children, then aged two and four that one day I would take them to Disneyland Paris. Three years later, after driving to Paris from England, after spending a day in Paris itself and after camping at a campsite near to Disneyland, my fantastic children, Rebecca and Joshua, unaware of where they were, got into the back seats of the car and together we drove along the motorway and onto the lovely drive to the Disneyland entrance. The look on their faces when they saw where they were will stay with me forever. If there is one parade that brings the tears to my eyes, raises the goosebumps and whells me up with the memories of the wonderful day we had there then it is this!
I went to this parade when I was just a little kid. This was one of my core memories from the 90s that I treasure. Now, almost 30 years later, every time I listen to this, it brings tears to my eyes. Disneyland Main Street Electrical Parade will always be dear to my heart. ❤
People talk about nostalgia but let's talk about how they blend all these additional layers over the constantly repeating main part. You know when you hear the robot it's gonna get good!
Jean-Jacques Perrey, the electronic musician who composed this music, just passed away, age 87.

Almost on the verge of tears listening to this. Where does the time go. I was so young with my mom at Disney when I first ever saw this parade. Now I start my job at Disney World in a few months.
Proud to say i witnessed this when i was little
D-Free As did I, it was freakin beautiful!
Me too, the nostalgia is killing me.
D-Free maybe the electrical parade ending is why I pretty much stopped going to Disneyland? The rest of my family has the annual passes and go at least once a month, most of the time I don't go with. Now I really want to go back.
Jpew2007 Go if you can hope time is well spent dude.
Jpew2007 hey well guess what it's back so are you going for its' limited run I am :)
It astonished me, when we were back in WDW this past April, how as soon as I heard this song a whole element of my childhood opened up in front of me and it almost brought me to tears. My daughter and I were on splash mountain, and after the big hill toward the end of the ride, we came out through the u turn and were right in the middle of the parade. First time I had heard the song since '84. We were laughing from the rush of the ride and from the thrill of being right there inundated with the lights and sounds of the MSEP, Disney never fails to amaze me.
***** And also PETE'S DRAGON!!!
+Justin Walker Gotta love petes dragon
+Justin Walker OMFG PETES DRAGON I FORGOT ABOUT THAT MOVIE 😵😂
+Justin Walker I am so glad you had that wonderful, magical experience. And I just saw Pete's Dragon for the first time a few days ago, on a blu-ray I got as a premium from the Disney Movie Club. I think once we're inoculated with the Disney virus, we're always addicted!
I totally agree!
I don't even need to see the parade on screen. I hear the music and it all comes flooding back. Just plain good memories and good times and pure joy. Thanks for posting.
She’s coming home 4/22/22 and I couldn’t be more excited for her. New floats and a 50th celebration fit
If any music makes my eyes tear up from the memories, it's this. Love it.

Fun Fact: This song was sampled by Joe Hawley's song "Joe Hawley Attacks". Another song sampled for that song was the Tally Hall short "Joe Hawley Attack".
Wow, I actually started crying when I heard "Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls...." My parents took my brother and me to Disneyland for the first time in 1986 to cheer us up because they were getting a divorce. We were all anxious and sad, but what a fun day we ended up having, and I sure do remember this exciting parade.
I love the long version of the electrifying classic! I especially love the robotic electric voice announcing.
This still goes hard!!!! If you were a kid in the 80's and 90's watching and listening to this at night at Disneyland in Anaheim...YOU HAVE REALLY LIVED!

i never watch parades. but this one time, we were trippin balls and couldnt really hang with lines so we watched this and the first float was a hookah smoking catepillar sitting on a mushroom and with that music and everything that followed. Hells yeah- fan for LIFE!
I will absolutely credit this song as one of the biggest reasons I'm so hardcore into synths. I've spent thousands of dollars on gear over the years, and made only a few hundred back from music-- but boy it's such a rewarding instrument.
I started loving them as soon as I got my first one in 2017 dec 6

When this was shown for the first time back in 1973 we went to Disneyland and I remember sitting on the curb over by the castle, I was 10 years old and I remember just sitting there being amazed and stunned by the whole parade! Years later I bought a t-shirt that has the parade on it and I wear that everytime I see the parade!
My grandfather recently passed away two days ago and he played this song in the car all the time. I miss him but this song makes me so happy now.
JOE HAWLEY JOE HAWLEY JOE HAWLEY!
This song almost makes me weep. It brings me back so intensely to the '80s, almost like I'm there. And I go in and out of my trance from the 80's in Disneyland back to reality and it's so sad knowing those old times are gone forever, only lives on as a distant memory in the minds of some.
It really "transports" me too, I can almost feel the cold air, and smell of the popcorn. I imagine sitting on the curbs lining Main Street, so close. :D
My parents had a cd of a shorter version of this when I was very young and I listened to it so many times in the car, super nostalgic now
I remember watching the electrical light parade with my family when I was 6 at Walt Disney World. I'm now 46. Hearing this just makes my day. I remember I bought the 45 record of it. So many great childhood memories.
Me too - would have been 1981!
My family loves Disney because of my mom. She passed in July 2022. Her oldest grandson made her a great nana twice over. We are going to Disney first week of January to introduce her great grandkids to it. Bittersweet all around. We all wish light parade was there because great grandbabies love watching it on UA-cam
The people who like this comment also like the Pinnochio underwater float (5:05), Return to Oz float (10:24) and the 25th anniversary float (11:28)
This is just my childhood. This reminds me of growing up at Disneyland, and how much I miss my family at this time. Things were so pure and wonderful. I miss it
I just how the intro announcement is blended into the track, that's when you know that it's the Main Street electrical parade!
+LOLWAAHH I'd say the vocoder intro is as famous as the parade itself!
i asked dad to get me one of those just for that reason. just rolled his eyes. lol
Are u morrocan and Disney fan's?
Remembrances of better times.....my dad, my brother and myself at both Disneyworld and Disneyland, 1985 and 1988. I will never ever be so thankful to our old man for making these memories always something to tell anyone about.
Y por supuesto, aquellos que somos latinoamericanos, esta tonada siempre nos traerá el recuerdo del maestro que nos hizo reír de niños y de adultos. Grande, Chespirito.
This song in peoples memories is like a tattoo that will never be replaced by nothing in a lifetime. I grew up watching the parade. I will never forget the lady bugs. And the green dragon spewing white smoke. I thank God that i watched it live. Many times.

My 5 year old cousin slept through the whole thing when we actually went to this. She was out cold while all this music was playing. One of the characters on the floats noticed and did a sleeping motion to show that he saw her asleep. It was one of the dwarves. I wonder what my cousin was dreaming during the whole song.... o.o
She must've dreamt of a lovely parade tbh.

@@krystalharwood5240 Most likely. Not too sure though, was a long time ago.
Even though I was born in 2002, my parents had this on vhs tapes and I couldn't stop watching it. I love this so much, sadly I cant go to the one this year, I went to Disneyland for the first time in summer of 2016, I went to the paint the night parade, cried so many tears of joy because it was my dream to go. It may not be the electrical parade but it was still so amazing
Ashley Walter My grandparents had the VHS tapes of this when I was small (I was born in 1997) and I remember it scaring me.
I was 03, I wore out my mother’s VHS tape of this when I was little. This is just the happiest music for me
It’s has returned for a short time till the end of September 2019.
Same for me! I was born 1998 but I grew up going to Disney and watching my parents' videos of it, so much so that it's hard for me to remember which things I actually experienced and which ones I just saw home movies of! I'm so glad that MSEP is back, even though I can't see it in person.
Just so you know, the paint the night parade was intended to replace the main street electrical parade. If you listen very very closely you can hear baroque hoedown in the background!

Absolute classic I hope no one forgets this 💖

Thank You posting this it is so good to hear this track again. It is not the original version. This one had the Return to Oz segment added to it. I went to Disney world three times with children and grandchildren, and I still delight in hearing the sound of The Electric Light Parade Music! This always makes me feel like a little child with a soaring heart, filled with love and joy every time I hear it! This was my favorite part of Disney World, and I still get chills and thrills of excitement listening to this music. There always was, and always will be, something very magical in this incredibly exciting music! I am so happy this is on U-Tube for all to continue to enjoy!! Thank you!!
Brings me back to Disneyland in the 90s. My dad would bring me and my sister to Disneyland every year. The rides, the sights, the smells, the music..running around all day..just loving life..then the electrical parade. Man..once all the lights went out on the street it was on! After we would catch one more ride or two..a quick bite at the carnation Cafe..then back to the car to fall asleep on the ride home.
I felt truly priveliged to watch this show 3 years ago. Pure, innocent magic truly. This music is TOTALLY best experienced watching the parade
I only saw this once, and it was just before they retired the Parade, and I'm so glad I got to see it in person. Such a beautiful show, and the music has always been one of my favorite Disney-related music pieces.
Best part of my childhood visits to Disneyland and even now, 60 years later. Whenever they bring it back, I'm there.
Loving the use of analog mono-synths & early poly-synths used here! ;)
Synthesiser keyboards are mankind’s greatest invention.
There was a time when I lived in SoCal that my friends and I would go to Disneyland every weekend. When I hear this soundtrack, I can picture the entire parade in my head, from Prince John swinging from the carriage with the whistle in his mouth to the dragon snorting out to everyone… shoot, I remember catching some of that snot. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 What memories! Thank you for posting this!
Brings back fond memories the first time I visited Disneyland. A mesmerising and uplifting score! All problems and troubles are momentarily forgotten while listening to this song! True bliss!
1973 Summer vacation from Denver to Disneyland in the old VW bus. Stayed at the old Heidi Motel on Katella and just walked through the back gate and across the parking lot to Disneyland. Stayed til closing every night to see the Main Street Electric Parade. Bought the 45 and still remember how enchanting and magical those days with my family were. I'm 63 now, but hearing this makes me feel like that little boy again.
I finally saw the parade for the very first time today and it’s definitely one of the best parades that Disneyland has ever done.
In the 70's, Chespirito used that theme song for the end credits of Chapulín Colorado.
That's what brought me here. I used to watch that show as a kid in the 2000s with my parents. I eventually found this track in a radio Disney CD in 2007. Those were good old memories.
recuerdo ser niño y ver esta cabalgata en paris, apenas con dos años, debió quedarseme muy dentro la melodía, cada vez que la escucho casi lloro de alegría, sin duda uno de los mas bonitos recuerdos de mi vida :)
I'm 30 years old and finally just fulfilled my 18 year long dream of seeing this at Disneyland last night. I balled my eyes out when this music played and that train turned the corner!
That's amazing! Thanks so much for sharing! So glad you got to see it.
