      Actually trying this recipe (and my first time at Tamales period)-right now as we speak.
      Pork is in tha’ pot.

    Hi Claudia, Just a Suggestion: you might want to use a pressure cooker for the meat. It cuts half the time in half and makes it tender too.

    • @bluestar5544
      @bluestar5544 3 роки тому +5

      DEAR, YOUR SUGGESTION SOUNDS GREAT, BUT THE PRESSURE PAN BREAKS THE PROTEIN TO FAST AND IT DOESN'T TASTE SO GOOD... TRY DOING IT YOURSELF, SIDE BY SIDE, AND YOU WILL DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE....
      A HUGE DIFFERENCE ON THE FLAVOR AND ON THE MEAT CONSISTENCY. MUCH, MUCH BETTER COOKING SLOW AND ENJOYING THE COOKING. REMEMBER...COOKING IS AN ART. KISS 💋 FROM BRAZIL 🇧🇷

    I made these and they are good. I would definetaly add salt to the maseca for flavor. My average cooking time ran about 2 and 1/2 hours.
    The chili verde filling is spicy but not over whelming. I used a spatula instead of a spoon.

      I'm with you. Made tamales today for the very first time in my life. Had a pork roast that had been in the freezer a while that needed cooking. Slow cooked it a couple days ago in a crock pot. This was an ALL day deal; chopping, mixing, straining, preparing cookin...Lotta work, but they were good!

    I like your quirkiness and how you explain things in your own way, like with the pork shredding method and how you use the word I often hear in your delightful videos “consistency”. Cute.

    Looks Yummy Going to have to try the green! Never had green tamales ~ Sound Good ! Been so satisfied with the red! HOT TAMALES I would put some green sauce into the Masa for a Green Tamale! ~ I found it easier to put the tamale to gather in a bundle of 12 ~ Just makes it easy to set in the pot, and take out! Make it easier to saran wrap them, then wrap them into foil, to freeze them

    Teach your boys how to make tamales too. Knowing how to make delicious food is a gender neutral thing!

      jjr26x although that is a good opinion to have she will teach her kids what she wants to teach them not because someone decided to tell her how to raise her kids

      jjr26x exactly then men grow up to be babies and expect the women to do everything. Cooking shouldn’t be based off gender if you’re human you should learn to cook it’s an essential tool to have.

      If you are physically present in the house when tamales are being made-- male, female, old or young--you WILL be in the kitchen making tamales! There is no other option. If you don't show, you don't GET any, unless illness (Hospital) or an act of God prevented your presence.

    Everyone suggesting a pressure cooker - please realize that if she would’ve done a pressure cooker video you’d have a ton of people telling her to make it in a regular pot cause they don’t have pressure cookers 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️. Do you and let her cook HOW she wants to cook!
