    The mudguard bit was a good idea, it even made the half hole look like it was intended! :-) And wildlife on the handlebar! And filming the piece falling on the floor...attention to details indeed!

      John Puremaster thank you mate, yes the stuff you notice is awesome. I left that half hole and put a grommet in it :)

    I cant wait to see this thing finished. Easily one of the more in depth builds ive seen. Its really enjoyable watching you do so much fabrication of the smaller bits and parts that most people would overlook. Really sets you apart from other builders. Keep killin it my friend. :D

    Hi Dan, just wanted to say thanks for the awesome videos! I'd been looking for a bike for a long time and you inspired me to go with the CX500. Picked it up an '82 a few weeks ago and am slowly getting it to where I want. Thanks for all the tips and details!!

    Nice work. I used the holes in my rear fenders for the licence plate holder.

    If you ever have a tough time pulling wire, a little dish soap works great!

    Excellent job.Just consider to cover the front side of the back tyre...If you plan to go on wet or muddy roads the back tyre will mess everything behind the engine ,including your legs . I customized a GL 400 similar to yours...

    Great videos! I love the educational explanations and engineering thinking and workarounds you come combine in your videos. Everything one could need from "how to?" videos.
    I also have a questions regarding the rear fender. Was it stock fender you modified or off another bike? I like the shape of it and would consider using it on my Honda VT500E.

    Have you thought about running the tail light wiring thru the frame rather than thru those grommets?

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 років тому

      billiardballhead fandango yes I was going to do that but I’m not to worried about this build as it’s not a show bike but maybe on my other ones I will do that

    Hey Dan what thickness of sheet metal do you recommend for electric boxes and cafe racer humps?

    • @anupvenkatesh4016

      Also what pipe/ tube is that in the vice that you use for than clean bend to finish out that fender? Any information would be awesome. Thanks

    • @CafeRacerGarage
      @CafeRacerGarage  5 років тому

      Anup Venkatesh I’m not sure of the pipe size but the thickness of the steel is 1.12mm

    The horn should ideally be facing forward. Difficult to hear on the highway otherwise. Nice content as always though!😊

    Now you knew you wouldn't leave that fender like that, if anything because of the cutout in it. Also "On Yer Bike" a channel to check out. It's Doghouse Customs, you'll appreciate his "picky" style. I was wrong about the fender. Lol
