Vinyl or even speedtape is better for the aesthetic, otherwise challys and chargers that come into a shop with those guards on have no idea about the trapped water/condensation that gets underneath and warps the plastic, esp if you live where its terminally humid.
Personally there are only 3 paid mods I think are worth buying, the Ibishu Signia, Cherrier Picnic, and Gavril scout. I have all three and quite enjoy them.

Still do always have the first gen vipers were fuckin horrific for it and my buddies srt-4 neons fender was so misaligned that the passenger door didn't open without catching the fender (we just readjusted it and it was fixed kinda) but that could have been someone else fiddling with the car and not knowing what they were doing

Bethesda and nexusmods have the right idea for paid mods. Bethesda having a creators workshop in their games, and Nexusmods having a subscription for faster download speed and access to certain mod packs. The problem is that if BeamNG do something similar they're either going to have to pay licensing to car manufacturers or not allow real life vehicle manufacturers (in which the community will have to do what Car X does and make the cars but not badge them).

The main reason I bought his subscription was for the looks alone. I really enjoy Beam's photography mode, so the body is all I'm really looking for. The cars drive alright, he listens to his community(kinda). also he hasnt published a mod in over a month and continues to charge us so \_:I_/

The dsc flea would be a cool review, it's a go kart mod but it supposedly will eventually be free. I think the patreon is 3$ and has more than just that. It's still being worked on though.
Awww man, that Challenger has some story going on, more than this video. I remember a similar challenger mod being released way before the PBR update, and the dude who made the mod hurt his reputation by leaking 3 or 4 mods from other creators.
The only time ive ever paid for a mod was for the Gavril Scout. It came to just over $4 and it performs well. I myself havent looked at the vehicle in extreme detail like checking the J beams and textures, but as a casual BeamNG player its great. And there are even a couple add on mods for it. I will add one bad freemod in the repository to me is the oldstyle add on for the Gavril D series. As the name implies it adds an older model of the truck and various styles like a tow rig and sport model. But my main gripe is the doors are loose, one hard turn and they fly open. I get its a free mod but no vehicle should simply do that.
Its funny now that im into making my own mods that i know where they get these models from. Mind you they do put in a bit of work to get them up and running. Noone does the leg work on any of these mods unless you find someone with an entirely new car model.
If i see a paid mod, i always gonna look a way to get it for free, then if i like the mod I'm gonna think to buy it just for support (and if the mod is constantly getting updates because normally that make the things easier). But normally i would not buy any mod
If you have a paid mod in BeamNG and an update breaks it, there's no guarantee the modder in question will fix it. They might, but what if they don't? At least with free mods people can pass along their own patches and updates when needed.
While I wholly do NOT support the scammer making these mods, I am not against paid mods in context, and I think a lot of free-mod crybabies don't understand what goes into a truely good mod. Imagine putting in 10, 20, 30, or even 40 hours into a model and a perfect J beam, plus tuning, proper performance, and extra parts, just to get nothing. I think that twixer makes amazing free mods. His porsche is very detailed and has openable mod but the handling could be better. It has a lot of cool configs and overall, ypu should check out his other mods(911 930)

The craziest part about this is that I can guarantee, *somewhere in the user agreement* states that you're not allowed to profit off of altering the game. It's one of the most standard stipulations of videogame user agreements, and these people can't be fucked to do something worthy of praise *especially* for the money that they're taking from people.
i will not pay for a mod simply for the fact that BeamNG is still in alpha and updates can and do break mods. The mod author is not obligated to update/fix their mod, paid or not. If BeamNG was in a more finished state where mods where more guaranteed to not be broken by updates i'd be more willing to maybe buy a mod. i think it was really a bad move of the devs to encourage paid mods on their forum
There are two FREE car mods i like, one is the jerbie vw beetle mod, wich comes with a stantard beetle. Basic but good. The other is the delorean dmc 12 by lucasbe, very realistic, very good.
Only some paid mods are good. Usually remakes of real cars aren’t. Lord friendly mods are usually the best bet, made by a reputable person or has good showcase videos
Can you do forgotten repo mods? One I really like is the Gavril Vendetta, based on a 60s corvette it’s amazing that it still works after so many years, there’s also a small addition that’s adds a 60s Camaro Cammed engine option. One of the best og repo mods that still works in my opinion. Even though it’s so old it’s a lot better than these paid ones lol.

Most paid mods do suck. I've been pirating every single paid mod off BeamNG. They're all mesh slaps of cars taken from Assetto Corsa or Forza Horizon. I've got downloads upon downloads of all the paid mods. I'm pretty open about it, too, and the forum users hate it. It's awesome. I'm glad I can take away another avenue of income from a 17 year old in his mom's basement making shitty meshslaps out of free CG trader models and a vanilla car Jbeam. It's fuckin awesome.

i agree that most paid mods suck, the only ones i would consider purchasing are lukasBE's mods, since they're actual good mods, not subscribtion based and pretty cheap

My honset opinion on paid mods: They should be illegal since the mod creator does not own the rights to either the game or potentionally the vehicle
i would only pay for a mod if i was a designer or something who didnt wanna do all the work you can easily add custom colors show customs a before and after of what id look like all sorts of stuff think abt it

The other issue is that most of those models are just stolen from racing games, so the rights also belong to certain game companies
