To me as well. In my area, we have had delivery drivers get shot and stabbed and when I do delivery, I always keep an eye out.
Plus, the fact that he only fired one shot, enough to get the guy to back down, speaks volumes. I had originally heard that the prankster was accusing the guy of doing something terrible as part of the prank and understand after watching the video why he shot him. He literally did everything else he could to get out of the situation before pulling out the gun. He tried to get out of there, but they were following him. He tried to get out of that situation to no avail.

If he got hit with it as a felony charge, that means he's never going to be allowed to carry or even own a firearm again unless it gets overturned or completely expunged. And it pretty much destroys any career or higher education prospects if he ever wanted to go down that road later in life. Alan told Tanner to leave him alone multiple times, and threatened to call the police, and yet Tanner persisted. You don't fool around and try to scare someone when you have a gun, especially at that range where Tanner could have just as easily tried to grapple for it. The fact of the matter is that if you believe that your life is in danger, when you feel it's justified to pull out a concealed-carry gun, you better use it. That Allen guy at the beginning was surrounded by at least 3 guys, two of whom were larger than he is, while he also has his hands tied up with his job. He also tried to get out of the situation several times. Nothing psychotic about his self defense.

I dont think anyone has any remorse for “influencers” who go out of their way to repeatedly harass random people who have done nothing lol
