Jack Doherty is a little monster. I used to live near kids who were given dirt bikes one year for Christmas, and I was in a neighborhood that was NOT structured for such noise and chaos. The kids filmed and streamed their acts, and the parents egged them on. People in the neighborhood stopped going for jogs, parents stopped taking their kids around in strollers, pet owners stopped walking their dogs, and it got worse. During lockdown, they were making noise at all hours of the day and night. Many of us had no control of our sleep schedule because of the loud motors and yelling, and it interfered with working from home. The police said it was a "gray area" and even though a majority of the neighborhood went to city council meetings to demand law changes, we were ignored. It was a risky time thanks to lockdown, so no one tried to pull any vigilante acts. I was able to pack up my family and move after nearly two whole years of unhinged hell, and other families left as well. Still, we shouldn't have had to uproot our lives because a bunch of worthless parents allowed their feral kids to raise hell while they (the parents) sat inside and got high and drunk.

I’m a Gen Z kid, and I’ve always been disgusted by my generations obsession with the internet and stupid trends. They don’t live in the real world anymore. It’s so sad because I know it didn’t have to be this way; their parents are responsible for this.
It’s also contributed to my loneliness. I already am pretty shy and find it hard to relate to most people since my interests are so different from most teens, but the fact that everyone is so unlikable and obnoxious on top of that has pushed me away. I don’t really feel connected to anyone.

@@ryanwright7545 I disagree. Even tho there's no morals, there are 2 things which do exist: social values and laws.
While the two usually overlap, social values are occasionally ahead of laws (civil rights etc) and so the law is often playing catch-up. Protest is usually how we get the latter to match the former. It's in other things too like public perception of weed changing and thus laws were relaxed.
Obviously with laws there's direct consequences but even social values have consequences too. For example, you'll be alienated or denigrated if you do socially unacceptable things.

Being born in the early 80's, this is so strange to me.
We once thought that TV would "rot our brains", but it didn't.
We once thought that violent video games would cause mass violence, but it didn't.
We once thought virtual reality would make humans detached from reality, but it didn't.
All those were typical dystopian future predictions from the 80's to 90's. But who would've thought that the phone and internet, two things designed for communication and information, would be the things that actually caused harm to our society?

All of this concerns me as a millennial father to a now 4-month-old baby. I have seen other relatives who are in Gen Z/A there are unable to function without a cell phone connection to the point where they have emotional breakdowns.
I mean kids and teenagers having full blown mental health episodes on camping trips when their cell phones don't work because of how addicted they are. My wife and I are keeping our daughter away from electronic screens. We are also keeping her photos off of social media to protect her future privacy.
She will be tech-savvy, but we refuse to let her become an iPad kid. We do not have a television and we have made it a point to do family activities. Like playing games or going to the park. Your videos are doing a lot of good to point out these things so people can make corrections in their own lives.

    • @senspartech3533

I think youre on the right track. Kids can DEFINITELY be brought up to be tech savvy without the addiction and literal brain rot. In fact, Id even say that many in the younger generations are only tech savvy insofar as it enables them to consume content. If anything goes awry with that process, they are just as lost as a grandma trying to figure out how to get online😁
Not that you asked, but my personal suggestion (depending on her interests of course) is to get more involved with the vast capabilities that modern tech provides beyond content consumption.
3D printing, robotics, micro PCs, automation, programming, desktop CNCs, media servers, mesh networks (lookin at you LoRa), etc.
My personal preference is to combine traditional, even ancient approaches with modern tech. So.. things like aquaponics (livestock + crops) with automation and robotics. Mixing wood/lumber with cutting edge robotics. Learn how to use advanced manufacturing like CNC.. but also work with hand tools (not even power tools).
We can accomplish things that most cant even imagine because all that most people know are the worst aspects. But someone raised to think about all of it differently? They will imagine what they can build and create with the tools at their disposal. Rather than addiction to increasingly meaningless consumption and emotional volatility. Behaviors that are pursued in an attempt to fill the very void that they create.

The human personality isn't formed to cope with extreme levels of fame or fortune.
Only a very evolved narcissistic personality can process and use fame in a regulated manner.
People who begin as normal, or have a personality which is histrionic, or is otherwise disordered but not narcissist, tend to crumble under the pressure to be perfect in the eyes of millions of people who can elevate or destroy them.
A sophisticated narcissistic personality already is certain they are perfect, and is not shaken by the pressure, believing they make no mistakes, and that things perceived as mistakes by others, are still a positive.
Madonna, Taylor Swift, Alec Baldwin, Megan Markel, are examples of people who have a history of turning a negative into a positive, as they don't believe they can be wrong, and that negative attention is still attention, thus useful and "fuel" for their narcissistic personality.

@@djjordg2748 "Moral degradation" has always been a subjective point of view. I look at statistics to see how bad the world is. Some statistics have gotten worse and some have gotten better. We're less violent now regardless of what the television will have you believe, and I think less violence is correlated with morality. People with the mindset that it's gotten so much worse have a limited pool of experience to judge this from. You can experience what, 2 or 3 generations in your entire lifetime before you die? Not a whole lot to objectively say the world has gotten worse. And being real with you, for a gay black person like me, the world is a pretty damn bright place right now. People like me would have been in the gallows not too long ago.

It's profoundly troubling to see how the digital era has amplified voices of 'degenerates' or controversial UA-cam influencers, who, through despicable actions, not only gain massive viewership but also substantial earnings. It's a sad state of affairs when these are the figures the younger generation looks up to and emulates, reflecting a concerning shift in our societal values. Such individuals, who wield their influence irresponsibly, are the ones who truly deserve to be 'canceled'. It's high time we promote a culture that values integrity, kindness, and genuine talent over sensationalism and controversy

What was once an infrequent occurrence and therefore a relatively small percentage of the population has grown to become almost the norm. Take unwed parents for example. A hundred years ago it was almost unheard of, let alone frequently intentional. Now it is common and the epidemic of essentially fatherless and motherless children, children without a "family" base let alone a two parents with multiple siblings "home base" is destroying society. Children are being raised without the benefit of learning their socialization place in society through the architecture of their family system. Not to mention the loss of our small town social structure! Now with covid they've removed even the social structure of the school group as well! No wonder we have a generation growing up right now who has almost no interpersonal socialization ability's. They quite literally have not been taught ANY! No one is blaming them, simply taking note of what already IS.

Except not rlly, honestly try going outside, not everyone is a jerk. Most of the people on this list are popular because of social media. 80 years ago, there were many bad people but you wouldn’t know much because of it not being so wide spread, only really famous serial killers would be known, hell those killers would be world widely known if the internet existed back then.
Let’s not forget that 100 years ago we had wars 100x more often, women had less rights, disabled people had less rights, racism was less frowned upon, etc.
Roundabout 200-300 years ago, slavery was way more common (it still exists now but to a lesser extent), etc.
To say the newer gens always get worse is wrong, every Gen has good and bad, in fact modern times are way better to loose in than years ago. You telling me anyone would want to live 100 years ago? Where the life expectancy was only till 40-60 while now it’s 70-90? As well as less medical studies, more wars, etc.
