The story you tell is not just one story, but many that weave into each other. It is inspiring to see all the major challenges you have overcome, and how for so long you must have sometimes been thinking 'was (...) a huge mistake?' When things don't turn out, like the road trip, the tumour, buying the digger, it must have been a real crunch moment. And things like a holey, mouse-infested home or shivering indoors night after night must have been morale-sapping.
All this makes it even more amazing the way you kept plugging doggedly on. A lot of us watch your videos and your upbeat personalities just shine through. (And Molly helps!) But seeing how high the stakes are and how big the real world worries of health and money have been for you makes you more relatable. Thank you for sharing these. It makes your achievements shine all the more.
I hope you are both back to full health - your energy levels on video are incredible, so I hope that means they are. Wishing you all the best, and hoping that everything works out.

Thank you Annie for taking the time to write a truly wonderful message. I love going down memory lane .It is funny but as time passes I remember all the good things and forget all the breakdowns along the way and there were many. So it is good to be reminded of what made us what we are today and to see how far we have come and it is always makes me so happy to see Timmy and Mollys relationship blossom as it did

Taking the adventurous trip was not a waste, in many ways it was educational, also gave you some training as to how hard living on your property would be and the challenges. Your you tube channel has taken off because you and Luke show the realities, the ups and downs, the hardships and how you have with your hard drive, perseverance, and not to mention your personalities, your humour your work team ship together is second to none and of course Molly and Timmy what wonderful companions and mouser. Your 2nd year jumped in leaps and bounds and you did a lot. Thank you Sarah and Luke for taking us on your journey and adventures and have learnt so much more about you both and how you landed up in Portugal. Have a lovely day. Greetings from the UK.

Back in the 1980s, we bought a 150 year old log cabin in the woods of southern Ontario. No electricity. No running water. Unbeknownst to us, there were hundreds of bats living in the walls and roof. We consulted experts -- "they hate light, shine spotlights on the walls"..NO power. "They hate wind, turn fans on their sleeping areas" .... No power. etc, etc. In the end, we sealed up as many entry points into the interior of the cabin, and slept under mosquito netting.

Wow such a nice video, so happy for you guys. Malta was a second home to me, we often went there on holiday. Sliema, blue lagoon, dragonara hilton, Gozo. The old green diesel buses and the Mr softy the ice cream man. Those amazing Eftiras😊 Not sure it’s the same anymore there. I’m very happy in the Algarve though it has everything (except the snow)😂
The Algarve is absolutely beautiful and yes Malta is not as amazing as it used to be but you can-t buy a bad ftira.🤣🤣

I am so happy that a lot of people seem to be enjoying this series . I decided to make them now because it is too hot to work on the land and Luke is also out of order. He has been since he got back from his holiday and can-t do much because of his knee and there is also a ban on diggers , chainsaws etc because of the intense heat.
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife I didn't realize that diggers presented a fire risk. That is good to know as my boyfriend just bought a new excavator.
@cathythomas2692 anything that can cause a spark can't be used after 10 or 11 in the morning..I think that changes when the risk is super high too
