Oh dear Sara….allow all your viewers to hold your broken heart…..so that you can heal your hurt and you and Luke can prepare for an amazing future…..🙏💔❤️🩹❤
Thank you so much for your kind words Sharlette
Small comfort to know you’ve made the right decision but redirecting you efforts towards your original plan is the smart thing to do. We’ll all be watching your progress. Lots of love!🇨🇦
Yes I know 🥲 but we are also excited to work on this next very important chapter of our lives
I am sorry about the goats. Luke I had that happen to my knee after a 3 day trip to Paris, Fluid build up and constant use on the stairs for 3 days ruined my knees. It did not go away until I got a shot of cortizone and did Physio. Now it is much better. Good luck with you knees. The only way it went away was with the doctor
Thanks Grace , he is on the mend x x
Oh Sarah you had such a special bond with Daisy .. how heartbreaking for you, I really sensed your pain … another great vlog , onward and upward 👍👍
Thank you so much!❤️❤️
I’ve had to give up animals as well it’s incredible hard but you know what is right for you. Goats are much harder to tend to than people realize. You have to have strong and high fences anywhere you don’t want them to go. Thanks for such an honest display of what you were going through.
They really are and I will look forward to having goats again when we are more set up that way we can enjoy them more
I loved how raw and honestly Sarah did with this. I cried.
@@permissiontoshine me too
It´s heart braking to see the goats going. Its like a garden without flowers during spring. They add so much beauty to the land. But they are going to a new farm in which Im sure the new owners will love them to bits. Spècially for the fact that they know how much they are loved by you. They will be happy! i pray for it!
Hi Catia x x x the land does feel empty without them but I have also experienced so much less stress for the last 3 weeks since they have left the farm . I do know that they have fitted in nicely in their new homes and I am pretty sure it took them less time to get over me than it is talking me to get over them ❤️❤️
My heart is with you dear Sarah. I know exactly how you feel. I had a lifetime with my animals and now they are all gone and I live alone. I have found ways to fill the void, as I know you will too as you will still be very busy with the others and the land.
Some are of the mindset that you build infrastructure first before you add the animals. There is wisdom in that. But sometimes we do what seems right for us in the moment, and maybe that's what we actually need at the time. Look at all that you've learned, and how prepared you will be in the future when you go at it again. No experience is ever wasted, and there are positives and negatives in all things. May your hearts, and your bodies and minds heal well. And here is to getting on with work and building a solid future. Sending you much love and hugs and prayers. You've got this. And we will all be out here in the world upholding you and encouraging you on.
Take "good" care of yourselves.
🥰🌿♥️🌿🤗
Oh my goodness thanks for this lovely message Meg ❤️❤️. it makes me so happy to have so many members of our UA-cam family offering support and encouragement every step of the way
Been thinking of you lately Sarah and now I know why...... I am crying but I totally understand your decision. I forgot to tell you before that year 4 review was great also! Luke I hope the news on your knee is positive and you heal quickly! I am looking forward to ruin renovation. I love you guys and my thoughts are with you! Take care and thanks again for sharing your life with us. 😘🤩🥰
Thanks so much Jan having so many lovely people like you to help me get through this hard time has been incredible xx
🤗@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife
That must have been a very tough decision, but sometimes you have to do things to make your lives easier in the long term. Goats will be back in your lives before you know it.
♥️♥️♥️
Sarah they herd animals, as hard as it is you done the right decision ❤ big hug to you both
Thanks Heidi ❤️❤️❤️
😭😭😭😭😭😭 oh nooooooooo
Zillion trillion hugs Sarah ❤
Get well limpy!!!!!!
Thanks xx xx ♥️♥️♥️
Ever since you got the goats I have been saying, "That looks like a lot of work." I have a lot of respect for you two because you recognize that it isn't the right time and it is preventing you from doing other things that you need to get done. Walking away from something you love is one of the hardest things to do. Smart decisions are not always easy. May you find peace with your decision.
You put it so well in this message . Now that i have more time... a lot more time to do the things i have been putting off for such a long time i realise that this decision was the right one and when we get goats again we will be ready for them .
Sarah I’ve never met someone who loves their animals quite like you do. It was heartbreaking to watch you being so sad, it must’ve been so hard but I really feel you’ve made the right decision. So looking forward to watching and also helping you guys with the ruin! Sending a big huge hug from our homestead to yours ❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Carissa and Iwan x x x seriously having lovely people in our lives like you has made this part of our journey easier ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Goats are very hard and demanding work, please don’t beet yourself up , you are doing right by your animals ❤
Thanks so much for your kind words❤️❤️
Awww bless you both. You've got to do what's best for you both. Like you said you can't spend all your time chasing them, especially when time is so short. It's time to take some time for yourselves, that's the most important thing, I think we forget that.... Take good care both. ❤ xxxx
Thanks so much Wendy x x
A hard decision, but the right one for your future. Love from Cornwall England
❤️❤️
It is sad for you to have to give up your goats but I do hope this allows you to move forward on the build of your ruin.
I am already getting so much more done and even though I still miss them a lot . We are excited because now we can see that we can move forward when before it was feeling impossible
❤Sarah ❤Luke...
The tale of my hubby's right leg. A 6 inch drill bit went into the lower leg. He tore the aclu...and a Scorpion bit the foot...3yrs later he is climbing fruit trees and doing all the cabinet making... tough men will find a way and persevere..Our goat family will never be forgotten ❤👍🇯🇲
Thanks for sharing Anna x x x
Knee braces take time to get used ( there are many kinds of braces, so don’t be surprise you need different ones for different occasions) but can be used everyday even when you feel better, it makes sense when you have a weak knee or knees it de stress the ligaments so that you can deal with walking on uneven terrain, specially when you are older, you will get used to braces it’s not a big deal and wills help so that you can do whatever you need to do in your land. ❤
So true Jim
😢 lots of❤to you both in this very difficult time.
Thanks for the support x x x
Enjoy your life each day. Remember the best of the past with smiles. All things in the time that is right for you both. The fly gun was great.
❤️❤️
Sometimes to move forward you have to change the path a bit. Big decisions are often hard at the time, but i think you have made the right choice.
Yes and forward we must move. we have been stuck for too long now and as much fun as they were , they did not come without heartache and stress
Guysssss! I’m so sorry you’ve been having hard time! Hope you heal very quickly Luke !
Now…… let’s get on with your next adventure ! Seeing all the improvements with the outdoor kitchen and future home will pump you back up in no time ❤❤❤❤ sending you lots of positive vibes x x
Thanks so much Noeleen x x x
Nice to see you back, your goats had a good life with you, hope they continue a good life. Look forward to the house renovations 💕💕
Us too!
Yay... the outdoor kitchen masterpiece and then the ruin. I'm excited.
As hard as it is you both have made the right decision, it will be different next time round. Look forward you have a lot ahead. 💚
Thanks so much Shiela ❤️❤️
Speedy recovery luke❤
Thanks Heidi x x
Oh Sarah and Luke! My heart hurts for you but your perseverance is magnificent. The love you show the goats ( and all your animals!) is amazing. I love goats but they are so mischievous, much like children, and take a lot of time. You and Luke have taken on such a monumental project but your willingness to try new things and learn from them will serve you well! AND you have shared so others can learn, thank you so much for that!
Keep smiling and living each day your way!!!
Namaste!
Thank you so much Andrea for this lovely message x x i love sharing our lives with you because of all the positivity and support you give back ❤️❤️❤️
Love to you and Luke
Thank you for sharing 🥰😁
♥️♥️
Sarah i feel for you❤ you treat your animals especially Daisy...but we do understand what is important. I wish youll only the best and hope, your knee will heal soon. Take care😊
Thank you so much Sherry ❤️❤️
Oh that must have been so hard! 😮 I totally understand why you had to make the decision you made. In the end, the goats had a wonderful life on your farm and will continue to where you sent them. You have amazing memories with your goats and now you can continue to work on your projects. I wish you the best! ❤
Thanks so much Francesca x x
I feel your pain. I gave two mares away that I raised from birth. It was like giving my kids away. They update me regularly and makes this old woman happy. Now I can concentrate on taking care of my 86 yr old mother. Sometimes we just have to let go in order to grow.
So very true Tricia x x x
I'm sorry Luke and Sarah! Take care!
You guys are exemplary. Not because you know what you are doing, but rather because you wear you hearts on your sleeves. Off-grid finca life is H-A-R-D. You live and you learn... constantly. And you are not afraid to show and share that. Finca life is first and foremost practical. You are doing an outstanding job. Keep it up!!! With my very best wishes, D
Thank you David, messages like this mean so much to us x x x Thank you for your support we are so lucky to have so many of you who encourage us to keep going when we really need it and great advice when we are not sure of the next step ❤️❤️
Understandable but still very sad. Work will help. ❤️
Yes so very sad but i feel relief too and i am already getting so much more done that i know this was the right thing to do
You will be Okay Sarah and the Goats will be happy in their new Homes. Luke will be happy to have you without the Goats stealing you as often as they have. Cheer Up Lovely Lady , Like will Go one and sadness does not last forever, and although the memories may hurt , but the joys within your heart will always be there. Smile. and let Your Heart sing from the memorie. Ninette Bird- The Caribbean Wife- Tx
Yes our relationship did need more time together as that was getting very scarce.. Thanks so much for this lovely message Ninette ❤️❤️
Saying good bye is always so hard.
The good news is that you will be able to move forward
and then
delightful goats will be back💝
Oh gosh, that made me cry! I know it's for the best and I know you've made sure that the goats have gone to good homes, but yes I will miss their shenanigans! I really feel for you Sarah, that was a tough decision!!
Yes so very tough but for the best. a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders we just have so much to do and I was just seeing no end each and every day
Oh guys.... hugs for you both. Giving up your goats was tough. Prayers for healing for Luke and comfort and peace for you both while you begin this next chapter. Thank you for sharing your life🥰
Thank you x x x x
I understand ❤😢.
Frankie Off Grid sent me. New subscriber. Nurse Judi in Scottsdale AZ. Looking forward to your journey!
Awesome! Welcome to our youtube family x x x
I could not imagine parting with my goats, cows or pigs, I would be just as devastated as you are. If it hurts this much, you know in your heart, it wasn't the right decision, from experience, sadly building, renovation will not fill the hole, in fact when things are so tough we wanted to pack it all in, the animals were the ones healing us...
I understand what you are saying, but we were not set up for them or have time for them , we will fill that hole when we get goats again♥️♥️ but a place to live is more important right now , the gypsy caravan is just a temporary structure.
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife Ofcourse, I understand, you have to do what is best for you, ultimately if you have to be well and focused first. Keep strong and focused! Speedy recovery to Luke.
@lascauxpermaculturegardens9601 thanks x
I feel for you giving up your beloved goats, particularly Daisy, who was special & smart .
Yes, you & Luke have a lot on your plate, so by re-homing the goats, it will give you more time to help Luke on the land , I wish him all the best for his scan & its not to serious , that rest can help it heal.
Can't wait to see the next videos with your future project's.
Love to you both ❤️
Victoria
Thank you Victoria x x x he gets his results this week
I am sure they will let you visit her to say hi occasionally.
Yes they will and they said I could have her baby when I am ready for goats again ❤️❤️
Oh Sarah, I am so sad this literally made me cry, I could never have done that, sorry but it would finish me, to give my animals up, you and Luke are in my prayers 🙏😢
I am sorry to hear that it made you cry too but i know it is because you care so much x x i am doing good now it was just something that had to be done in order to move forward , the goat time will come again and it will be better because we will be prepared for them x x
Thank you for the hard work putting years 1 to 4 together, I really loved the full review.
My heart hurts for the goats leaving, it was so touching as I could see the mutual affection between you all.
Your passion for your chosen lifestyle is evident, and I look forward to all the projects going forward. 💕
Thank you very much Rhonda! Your message makes me happy x x
Hard but probably for the best. I look forward to seeing what is next.
OH nnooooooooooooo WHAT A TEAR JERKER of a video. My heart was breaking for you about letting go of the goats. Makes sense though, so I'm glad you both came to that realisation. I will miss those lovely walks with the whole animal tribe, but it's amazing we've got all of those wonderful videos to look back on.
Sorry to hear about your knee Luke. Damn. I hope you get it sorted soon. Body parts breaking down is a fact of aging. As a 57yo, I can assure you it teaches you to treat your body with the utmost respect, not like we did when we were spring chickens. I'm glad you strong-armed him into going to the doctors Sarah. Good job girl.
Very excited to see the next chapter begin. Off to sign up to the free part of Patreon. I appreciate you giving us poor folk a little bit more of a look behind the curtain. Sending you both love and thanks for keeping us so entertained. I loved all of the look back videos. I just didn't get a chance to comment. 💝🐨💝
Yes it was a shock to the system for me ..no goats and the first week i thought i will never get over it but every day got easier and now i have time to do so many things that really need to get done. Luke is getting better but we are still waiting for the results from the hospital x xx
❤blessings to you both ,you both work so hard 🎉❤xxxxx
🎉 I'll be honest I cried several times. Sending hugs and love. Be strong Sarah.
I am sorry to hear this Grace x x x Now that three weeks have passed I am over the worst and I am really sure that we made the right decision ❤️
Oh dear Sara,,,, I cried and cried with you! God may bless your sweet heart! 😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘
You are so kind X X X ❤️❤️❤️
you are a very, very brave strong person
😢😢😢
I totally get it and it's the right to do. But it is so sad 😢 I'm crying with you, but I'm so excited for your next projects and seeing you achieving your goals. Xxx
x x x ❤️❤️❤️
You're amazing. We've just moved from the UK back to Portugal and would be great to visit you guys
i was crying seeing that Video.... remembering my animal loss.... but You have to let go....always remembering the good times !
So so true ❤️❤️
I can feel your heartbreak, Sarah, but I get it. You're right, you have to put your priorities in order. 💚
Goat time will come again and I will look forward to that day but for now it is time to concentrate on the land and ruin before we get too old... 5 years have passed like a dream so we cannot delay the rebuilding of the ruin for much longer
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Aw, I’m so sorry, it must have been such a hard decision, but they are herd animals and they will adapt I’m sure. You’ve gave them a lovely start to life & great care. I’m glad it was not a health issue for yourself and I hope Molly & the piggies provide some solace. Onwards and upwards for you and Luke towards that home on the hill. x
Thanks so much for your supportive words x x xx ❤️❤️❤️
I understand! And I will miss Daisey too! So sad! 🙏❤✝️🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣🤗
Thanks Melinda
Love you couple of really beautiful people. Am not too far away down south can always and love to call up for a few weeks to give some energy in to your space . Love and light ...
Thank you for the kind words ❤️
Sad to see the goats leave but I 100% understand why is was necessary. I would so love to have nannies and/or sheep but before we can even think about that we'll need proper fencing, we can only cope with our two boys because they're totally set in their ways and don't want to escape. Same as you we have a million things that need doing first.
Yes and now I can see clearly . we can do this 😁 and we will have goats again when ready
I am so sad for you and the goats 😢😭🥰
My heart breaks for you and the joy you will miss for now though I understand the time it takes to fully take care of the goats. Hopefully Luke has nothing serious going on with his leg. I pray the doctor can fix him up and he can get on with what he wants to accomplish.
Thanks for your kind words Eunice xx
So sad to see the goats go, I'm with you. But think about the things they taught you and you learned about them. It doesn't replace them but it does help with your knowledge for the future when your ready. You may not even have goats again, it could be another kind of animal. With all the excitement on building the outdoor kitchen and the rebuilding of the ruins you will be busy enough. Thank you for sharing because I almost didn't watch this video, couldn't take any bud news. But now I am glad I watched. So far not missed any videos of yours, just didn't know if I could handle it. Take care and will hear from you soon.
I am so happy you did manage to watch it because you have supported us for so long and this was a life changing moment for us and glad you were there for it too no matter how sad it is for all of us .❤️❤️❤️ Thanks Cathy x x

I’m positive you’ll do great work on the land and on the ruin - transforming it into your future home.
Soon the whole family will be together again. 🤗
🌷Sam and Pedro 🇨🇦
Yes this is the exciting start of another new chapter
I promise if you get kids right after birth and bottle feed them, they will bond to you like Daisy. You have shown so much courage in your wise decision making.
Most electric fences you have to keep weeds away and the ground fails in dry land. It needs to reach damp wet ground to make a good ground.
ok
We love you.😘😘😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Big hugs x x x
Sara sending love and hugs.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤
I’m know this was difficult but I am glad your thinking ahead for yourselves. Hugs to you Sarah 💕💕💕💕
Thank you so much Grace!
Very sad to see the goats leaving, great to know they’re gonna have a lovely second half to their lives. And when Luke’s knee is sorted that ruin will be a palace I’m sure….keep well, live well and keep laughing… love yur life documentary …
So many adventures yet to come and even though it was extremely sad to see them go , i am happy they are all settled and happy in their new homes.
Never a easy decision. But soon in the future you will have them again. Hugs.
A simple life is far from pain free. They say time heals.... but memories live on ...
So so true
Thank you for sharing this raw life change you have had to make, you will have goats again & hopefully all your goals would have been achieved by then & you will be able to enjoy them much more, knowing nothing else will be a priority over them. The one positive is you have made sure they have good new homes, a small comfort. Sad for sure & you made the right decision by putting all efforts into your goals, once they are done your be free to have as many different animals as you choose. Luke, Molly & the piggies will keep your spirits up. The fun will be training new animals when they come. Stay strong flower. L&L
Thank you for your kind works x x we appreciate you being here through our ups and downs x ❤️x ❤️x
I think that goats are smart and get in trouble eg. Break out. I believe being in a herd with others helps with boredom they will be happy where you re-homed them. Visit them to get your goat fix and still enjoy your project!
Very true!
A hard but as you say necessary decision, you need to get the structures sorted whilst young, fit and healthy. Looking forward to seeing the progress on your summer kitchen, the ruin and I am sure there will be alot of land clearing and discovering of Olive and oak trees, which can now be free to grow.
Hope all is going well with Luke's knee and your back.
The bug splatter, OMG what a fab toy.
So so true Emma 5 years have passed like a dream so we cannot delay the rebuilding of the ruin for much longer... in no time we will be 60🤣
Take a break, guys, you can take a break from goats and YouTubing as well!!! Wish you a good time, till then❤
Thanks x x
Dear, dear Sarah, i'm so sad for you... But it was the right decision and i'm almost sure that you will miss your goat much more than she will miss you. That is in our nature, both your and Daisy's. She was an excepcional goat, but our common bound (humans-goats) is what it is. Goats are not dogs and even dogs forget their old owners if they have a new good life. You are both young and i have been told that, in order to live Vera a good and long life, you must have done all the important and hard things in life, like having a good home, before yours sixties. I' m 67 and i assure you that is true. I wich i could help you more. You are in the right path. Be strong and take care. Best wishes from all my heart. Vera
Thanks you so much for your supportive messages over the years Vera having lovely people like you supporting us and giving us advice makes a huge difference to our success❤️❤️
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife 💚💚💚💚💚
Sarah, I know how hard this was for you and Luke. That you both have put things into perspective. You will later be able to get goats again and that was a learning curb for you. You have made a very hard decision. Sarah and Luke at least you have all the videos that you have documented of all those lovely goats and have those beautiful memories that you shared with us for yourself. Luke I hope your leg is ok and all goes well at the doctors tomorrow. I was feeling terrible for you too. Know that we love you, take care and try to have a lovely day.
This means so much to us . Seriously your supportive messages makes all these hard decisions slightly easier . Thank you ❤️❤️

V sad re saying goodbye to the goats. 😢

Oh Sarah this was a heartbreaking watch but I completely understand why you made this most difficult decision. My heart is with you ♥️
thanks so much for being here x x
Ooohhh Sarah... I was so sad to see you like this ❤ I wanted to come over right away to give you a mega hug 🤗 but sometimes you have to take heartbreaking decisions to go forward in life. But on the bright side, you guys can finally start on your new challenge... the ruin🎉🎉🎉 although, Luke has to heal first...without going mad😅 maybe to keep his mind busy, he can workout a work order list with what goes were and materials etc... or a ground plan with the kitchen and bedroom and electricity and so on.... you know what Sarah... just give him a piece of paper and some color pencils 😜 big hugs from us
🤣🤣 you are so funny .. and about my sadness i am feeling so much better now and can clearly see our goals when before i had so much to do and so stressed everything in the future looked blurry

Obrigada Julia xx x ❤️
Thanks for this video Sara and Luke, it came at just the right time. I am in the middle of deciding to send my goats to a new home also. I love them, but health issues make taking care of them so difficult. I hope I can be as brave as you when the time comes.❤
Then I am happy that this video has reached you and hope it gives you the strength to do what needs to be done. I am finding out very fast that the number one thing to take care of before anything else is health for without that everything seems hard to handle.
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife health is number one, but gosh it's tough to prioritise it. I just feel so guilty about sending them away - it is like abandonning them, but it really isn't. Take care Sara, sending you hugs
It feels like abandoning them but they will miss you much less than you miss them .. I know from Daisy because we kept in touch with her new family and they said she settled in straight away and is happy with her new family and friends
@@lukeandsarahsoffgridlife oh that is good to know! I think I have found a wonderful place for them, with an oak forest and a river, fingers crossed it pans out. I'll let you know and thanks again for your help. Hugs
Have you considered taking the stones from your ruin and building a home near where your garden and resources are? While it might seem daunting, retrofitting the ruin into what you want might be harder than building from the ground up, closer to where everything else has been established.
That is madness🤣🤣
Hi you two I understand why you have made your decision to let the goats go it hurts but they will be ok it does get easier love your future plans for the homestead Luke take care of that knee good luck with the test love to you both greetings from Australia
Thanks so much Sharon ❤️❤️ yes we are excited and feel like we are finally going to start moving forward on things that really need to be done before we are too old to do them 😉
