I love it. I just asked my boyfriend to help me build this. Fabulous. I will use it inside as I wait for my AC to be fixed. Super expensive to fix an AC. I saw someone make one for an outdoor festival and he had it in his tent. We were cool. Wow.

Made one before to use in a van that had no ac. It worked as long as as you were right in front of the unit. It never seemed to cool the interior of the van. Using big blocks of of ice is the way to go and you can put a couple drinks inside as well.

I think I like the second cooler better. I have a similar creation. I also use a three speed Vornado. Instead of water bottles I use large freezer packs to fill my vintage Igloo. My best low output temp is 63 degrees.

Freezer packs are a great idea! Thanks for the tip. 👍

Just imagine if you put insulation and bagged ice into the cooler! 🥶 awesome video and a great DIY idea! 👍

I thought that too...since this cooler was cheap it didn't have any insulation. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍

They are both good in this heat either one of those would do the job but the second one blowing faster would of been my choice.

I agree. The one with the Vornado is my go to. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 👍

I was wondering if using radiator coils may help to make the water drip back into the cooler rather than making the air more humid. A swamp cooler I think is only doable in dry desert environments where the extra moisture is tolerable. This build seems about perfect if you are cooling a very small space in a dry environment.

Lol. It was pretty cool 😎 🥶 . It was a lot of fun to build. Part of the success of this type of cooler is the strength of the fan. If you end up building one let us know how it went. 👍

Your DIY vornado is obviously the better one and bigger surface, more air space for chilling.

These devices were typically design for off grid type environments where power is limited like camping, vans, tents, power outage, area cooler for mechanics, shed shop or outdoor events you can't control humidity but use water to remove heat from the air..I have a video for low power consumption coolers..12 watts

Awesome video love using swamp coolers. I saw online a product called Icybreeze same concept but it’s actually a portable Air Conditioner. I’m saving to get one of those. Seen some reviews on UA-cam that it’s worth it plus it comes with a battery too so you can go take it with you camping

Couldn't I fill the cooler with maybe 75/80 % water, and the hard big block of ice might not melt so fast, and it would mabee Last alot longer

I made something similar using ice packs and a cheap USB fan, I made a lid out of cardboard so I could reuse the container. All scavenged supplies so it cost me nothing, I called it my 'Hobo AC'.
