Thanks for this vid (and all your vids). I'm new to GW2 as well. Your vids help a lot. I'm also glad you have builds that feel more fluid too (unlike some in metabattle or SC). Interestingly, after I spent like almost a whole weekend experimenting, my original but somehwhat "tuned" pvp build was somewhat similar yours (except for the runes and sigils, and I went more defensive with things like evasive mirror and I went superiority complex).
rly nice vid :) its somehow funny to hear your new opinion after we had a little dispute over this build like 2 months ago. ;)) i have a wall of text in mind and thought about if i rly wanna go into this, esp after you got so emotional about this the last time we talked about what need how much skill and what is op and all this. but you seems more calm now so i try, if it is too much too read just ignore me muha. this is pretty much what i play since pof beta, just with torch instead focus and with daze mantra instead signet of midnight/decoy. im a big focus fan. i loved the good old combos you needed to do to make the old phantasm hit, like use the first skill of the pull, start phantasm cast and during cast use the second focus 4 skill (the pull itself). with a good timing your phantasm spawned directly where you pulled your target to. than you rooted and switched to gs burst. with the buffed focus it got easier to use. still you can cast other stuff inbetween placing the curtain and before pull and during you use the second focus 4 skill (the pull itself, b/c its instant, just the same as sword 3 chainskill 1 and 2), just that you know, because i didnt see you using it that way in this vid but maybe you know it already. i still remember the good times shatter core mes was played with focus, moa and illusion of life and portal. with other words full teamsupport and not selffish oneshot boom. you only had 1 utility for yourself (blink) and even that you often used for mobility instead stunbreak. so you had to play very careful 360 degree awareness and rly needed to fight ppl instead what you do with a relatively none reacitve oneshot build. but even tho i love focus, i would only run it, when i still can use daze mantra, simply because except illusion of life its the most usefull teamsupport utility you can pick and is still rly good with the traits you now use too. its simple: no good mesmer needs daze mantra to hit shatters also its not needed to hit a oneshot (you can do it with f3, i mean even back then when we still had a stun), means daze mantra in my build is a teamsupport utiltiy and not a oneshot -secure skill, means: that we dont have a stun anymore doesnt change anything of the value from daze mantra in my build. i run lynx for more mobility but if you go for dmg than mesmer rune is the best in that combination. with your focus/ signet of midnight combi your rune choice (infiltrator) is perfect i think. its a bit sad, that focus compared to chrono shield cant rly be played without a stealth on the utilitybar. i would switch to focus immediately if i could run it with daze mantra. but when i compare torch and focus than they both have nearly the same dmg, both have aoe cc (even tho the focus pull is way better than the phantasm daze but still its both aoe and in cleave situations on downed ppl its the same effect) and torch has stealth and aoe blind in addition. means focus is not that much better than torch for the teamsupport /utility reasons that i would use focus and give up daze mantra, b/c mantra can do way more for your team than a stealth and stunbreak only working for you. max range instant interrupt on such short cd. you can peel so great for your teammates with interrupting even shortcast keyskills fast enough, interrupt rezzes/stomps way more frequently etc. the real nature of the power block/ de/ih synergy is: interrupt, its an interrupt build and daze mantra is just the best for it. thats at least my personal opinion. based on this opinion we come to point 2: i think you miss the interrupt nature of your build too much. leading you to focus on split surge too much. thats why feint fate was more right than you with his complain, when he talked about sword ambush. the weaponset get the most value out of the traitsynergy from powerblock/de/ ih is sword/torch or in your case focus, not greatsword. there are a lot other power builds way better for greatsword ambush spam than this. first is, the clones do not stack might on you, they only stack might on themself. means without the use of de and ih you have the exact same might on you than with using de and ih. true is, that you can stack more vulnerability on targets. but since you already stack 12 vuln in an aoe situation with only one dodge/gs ambush use with your own ambush and with running domination you have more than enough vuln stackign already so you dont need de/ih for that. with other words running de/ih even lower your gs dmg compared to using the insane dmg boost you get from superior complex trait, what is completely passive and works for all skills, not only gs ambush. the gs ih clones hit on average 450-550 dmg on light armor tagets (lucky crits can go up to 800, very rare i saw something bit over 1k) with their gs ambush. but your own ambush (what is the main dmg even when using ih/de) is remarkable lower without superior complex. even your oneshot build is better in gs ambush spamming. the only advantage from de over superior complex is again a teamsupport aspect, because superiority complex only higher your dmg, but with de you get more utilites and vuln makes all your temamates do more dmg on the target and not only yourself. saying it short: the build you play now is, a bit less than my build (due to using focusoffhand and due to no daze mantra) but in his nature still mainly an interrupt support build and the strongest weaponset is sword/x. thats why you rly miss some important combos in your vid with sword. thats why i started in my combo vid with the base combo of sword and added more and more skills to it. anyway well made vid as always! hf with this build it has so much optiones and more ways for tactical plays and is for that in my opinion harder to play on max potential and way more interesting than a none reacitve oneshotbot. in this the opinions are very different to some other mesmers (maybe yours still too, dunno, at least you are not that hateful anymore haha), and im fine with that ;)i can live with other opinions, sooo peeeaaaaccceeeee :))

Floriano Junior This build is viable. Just a couple small changes. You can play it in pve. Focus pull and greatsword ambush are both good there for pulling and killing mobs while stacking vulnerability.
Shorts, why do you suggest not to run eagle rune though ? Its quite obvious it is really good for extra 10% of crit chance and ~15% more critical damage, isnt it ?
@@shorts_gaming Fair enough. But hitting with mind wrack for 4.5k I could only by using eagly, strenght didnt make it :) Btw, dodge with sword with 3 illusions - is just awsome tip. I use it everytime now :D Instantly +25might stacks. Also instead of daze/stun duration I've picked 15% illusion dmg, exactly for that massive split surge + only daze you have is sword 1 and diversion, which I dont believe dont help that much as 4x split surges with +15% dmg each :D Just opinion.

Hey still having a hard time finding that big pink and black scarf... the Adventurers mantle looks like goggles while the adventurers scarf only covers the mouth.
What could I replace Mirage with? I don't have the Elite spec and was hoping I could run this build w/o gimping the spec too much by not running Mirage
Hey Shorts, i have a problem with mesmer GS AA. When the AA is ongoing i cant interrupt it with casting other spells. Really makes brusting hard, when an aa is starting. Is ther ea option to stop that? thanks!
Iberio Keybind stow, then I want you to use your auto attack and then stow cancel it. After you practice that attack a target golem, stow cancel, and then use another attack. Should fix your problem by force
Iberio It’s actually what I do. I stow cancel instead of skill cancelling with other skills. It’s more precise are focused so it’ll be “clean” more consistently. IMO you should have to click a button for each and every mechanical change independently.
Shorts, I have been playing your condi mirage with axe/torch, sword/pistol and it is very easy to play, now I wanna try this one and my question is, how hard is this one? I am only lvl 25 in pvp but getting better every day.. 😁
Play it, and dont stop, dont change the build. Learn positioning. Learn combos. Learn who to target first. Every build is the same. Practice it and learn it.

Michal Skalka Getting gut by mindwrack for 16k damage is never out of nowhere. A Mesmer has to land multiple hits of mindwrack from brain dead clones that walk at a straight constant speed. Not hard to dodge.
@@shorts_gaming but it is an interrupt, when the enemy is casting a skill. I think dazing is such a weird mechanic, because there are so many ways to proc it. Does interrupting proc a stun/daze? Even if its not, i still like the synergy between Mantra of Distraction and Diversion. If they fixed Infiltration then, i would reconsider.

Roderick Power Mesmer is super fun and harder to play than most builds IMO just keep practicing. You have to change with the meta or you will hate the game.

Iberio Right click the little white border on your auto attack, turn off auto attack in settings, and remove melee target assists. Should fix it.

You can just play ranger and hit longbow 2 skill for dps I think :)

This build is no longer viable as of jan 2019. Dont waste your time. In fact avoid mesmers at all costs. They are useless now.
How degenerate you have to be to play a mesmer. The most broken unfair class of them all for the longest time.
hardest class in the game, the best players made the devs nerf it so hard to the point where to win you have to predict split to have a chance
