Hello Miss Kelly!! I am reaching out to see if you have any videos where you show in the recording how you balance water and using a napkin/ paper towel with your brush and paints?… And I have too many favorites in this video to ONLY pick 3!! *addicted to anything granulated!!!* 🤣🎨🖌️😍🥰❤️🔥
I too love granulating colors, welcome to the group LOL As far as the water balance, that is a great question and I don't have a video on it but will be making one now with your suggestion, thank you!
Yes! More Swatches! These are beautiful.. If I HAVE to pick 3 favorites they would be: Juniper, Paris Grey and Classic Velvet. Honestly, after checking out their Etsy shop - I would love to have everything they make!!!!
The Moons and Moods set reminds me of the Kuretake and Boku Undo sumi-e paint sets! The ones that are the ink mixed with a color! Only these ones granulate!
I love all of my Essee Co. watercolors, they are just so different from any of the other brands which I totally appreciate in quality and uniqueness. Thanks for watching!
Haiku is a beautiful selection of paints, you are going to love them. The flat peach is amazing and I find myself using it a lot because of the odd coloring.
DO IT flat peach is sooo worth it! It can be skin tone, or rough cloth, or darken it for a peachy golden hue, it’s one of my most used recently, trust me it’s a versatile paint 👌👌👌
I just bought their Torino full 48 pan set. Hasn’t arrived yet… but I ❤the muted colors. Not sure if Torino includes the moon colors, but if not, I’ll be ordering that one soon.
I'm not sure if they do either but you are going to enjoy Essee Co. watercolors so much. Have fun and make a beautiful color chart to see what they do with one another!
I have their skin tones and blushes set and these are some of the highest quality paints I’ve ever used, Classic Velvet is such a beautiful shade. I’m after Moons and Moods next!
I am waiting for the Skin & Blushes set, it should be here next week, what lovely colors! I have a video coming out on Moons & Moods on Oct. 19. Make sure you are subscribed so you will get notified. It is one of my favorite palettes from Essee.
How would you classify the Bordeaux in the Wine & Roses. Is it a deep red or vibrant red? Looking for a darker, deeper red instead of vibrant so I am curious. Thank you!
@@kellyhoernig The wine and roses set is almost all deep reds. Bordeaux is deep in the sense that it has quite a purple cast in my experience. It literally looks like someone spilled red wine on my page. If I could add pics to this post I'd show you a swatch. But if a darker, deeper red is what you want, if you don't mind the purple tint I think the bordeaux would serve you well. But also, 5 out of 6 colours in the wine and roses set are dark deep reds, just FYI.
I have nearly all palettes since I have been collecting these gorgeous paints for a 18 months or so…. They are truly lovely, I love the moon and moods the best as well as the Haiku Palette and the Dragonfly Palette for Black Paper ! Great to see your swatches, Kelly!
I recently ordered the Moons and Moods set and it’s gorgeous. I’m glad you reviewed other colors since I’m thinking of buying more and I like your palette options
Essee - my experience was not good and my feelings were quite hurt that my repeat business did not seem to matter or maybe she thinks her paints are so great that she doesn’t have to go out of her way. I actually feel like I placed a pretty good size order. 2 sets and about 6 extra colors… I had to keep reaching out to find out if she was ever going to ship my order multiple times. Took 6 weeks to get some watercolor paint. That’s insane in my opinion. She then got my order wrong and couldn’t be bothered to send me out the correct color. The paint is fine, but not worth dealing with someone who doesn’t make me feel appreciated as a customer. Soooo many other great handmade watercolor choices.. give someone who cares a shot!
They took a while to get here also but I am always willing to wait with handmade products. I'm so sorry about your experience and you are correct, a lot of beautiful handmade watercolor choices are available.
I wouldn't care to see a "deeper" swatching session, but I would like to see you paint an actual peice of art with the paint. Swatching tells us nothing about the paint.
@@aneja991 I don't mind it obviously I clicked on this video, but swatching doesn't really tell us anything at all about the paints. How they'll mix, interact with one another, do the red push into the others, do the others bleed into their mates or push. Do any of them pull from their counterparts, do they muddy, will they dry to appear flat when next to others. These are the things we can only see when we see them used in an actual peice of art. We can see their swatches on the website.
@@phillipstroll7385 You are quite right. Unfortunately, the paints are already opaque and muddy, so any mixing will not improve transparency if they are used in concentration.
Most of these colours can be made by mixing ordinary watercolours, saving considerable expense. Also, too many of these watercolours are heavily opaque. Not everyone subscribes to the fad for granulation! Also, I require assurances as to their lightfastness.
That is the wonderful thing about being an artist today, we have options that make us happy. I like thicker, opaque colors that granulate and finding a brand that specializes in that made me want to share. Thanks for watching!

They are a little different but I do see the similarities of these sets. Great comparison Amy!
Red grape, classic velvet, uva passa are my favorite colors although they are all beautiful!!
I agree, they are all gorgeous and I wish they were available in tubes to put on my studio palette. Thanks for watching!
Those 6 colors you chose are stunning!

I have just treated myself to my first Essee paints. I chose Haiku but just know I will want to add more colours…I have my eye on the flat peach. 🍑

That was fun to watch! My favorites would be Indigo Maya Azule, Classic Velvet, & Viridian Spring Green ❤
Cindy, I have an extra Maya Azul, I will hold it for you. Thanks for watching!
So I have 3 Essee sets 1) Wine & Roses which is *gorgeous*, 2) antique earth 3) a set of 12 greens. Love their stuff.

Hi Kelly, I got your book colored pencil collage and I love it. So glad to find you here.
Thank you for purchasing my book, hope it inspires you to try a piece or two!

Wow, you must be in a visual wonderland to have so many color to play with. I will take a look at those palettes, thank you for sharing!
I love how their branding is a muller!
It is so unique, right? It is also a magical instrument in their hands and I appreciate it so much.
Thanks for the video and the swatches! I thought I’d stop by and say hi! I have my eyes on Essee, but I’m not in a hurry to paint with them.
Hi right back and thank you for watching!
@@kellyhoernig My pleasure 😃

I totally agree, the color combination of that set is just astonishing. Enjoy shopping and I guarantee you will love the colors that arrive.

What an awful experience. Don't think I'll order anything from them now.
I hope you left a review on the etsy shop. That is not ok behavior for a shop owner, especially lack of communication.
I think if you swatch on cotton paper , the colors would have looked better
Thank you for the suggestions. And maybe they would, but I'm fine having my brand swatches in this sketchbook.
The colours are dull and muddy. Colour testing should be on the paper one is going to use for the finished work.
