It may not be as efficient as one desires, but it is nice engineering to admire for after all the place of some engines is in showcases as works of art.
Okay. Once and for all, here's the reason these "superchargers" _appear_ to work: The little engines in our RCs run at extremely high RPMs, and at high RPMs they are constantly suffocating. If the engine has a rotary intake valve built into the crankshaft, it doesn't stay open long enough for fresh air to fill the crankcase up to full atmospheric pressure; if it has a reed valve instead, the springiness of the steel reeds cause them to snap closed before the crankcase can be completely pressurized. And in both cases, the exhaust port in the cylinder wall doesn't stay uncovered for long enough for all the exhaust to get pushed out. Strapping a fan to the intake CAN help relieve this problem by reducing the vacuum in the intake, so there will be a little more pressure in the crankcase to scavenge and refill the combustion chamber when the transfer ports open. BUT HERE'S THE PROBLEM: There is already air outside the engine that is "pressurized" compared to the partial vacuum inside the crankcase at high RPM. That air "wants" to get into the engine, but the valves and ports are getting in the way. So if you just take a few hours to use a Dremel to improve the porting of the engine, YOU WILL GET THE EXACT SAME BENEFIT FOR FREE. In other words, if this product works for you, it works because you're lazy. I spent a few hours last week grinding and filing the ports on a crappy old nitro engine I have, and I increased its redline by 11%. That's a bigger improvement than you'll ever see with this product.
If the engine has exhaust valves, then it can trap air pressure in the cylinder after the exhaust stroke ends. A valveless 2-stroke engine can't do that, hence why this "supercharger" is mostly useless. If it does anything at all, the only thing it can possibly do is *slightly* pressurize the bottom of the crankcase so the transfer ports can be *slightly* more effective in blowing exhaust out of the combustion chamber after each power stroke.
Shawn Elliott I had one on a nitro engine it was useless. by the time i tuned fat enough at top speed so I wouldn’t lean out it would barely run at idle and load up because it was to rich. I spent more time jerking with it then actually running it. when i took The super charger off My truck was actually faster and ran cooler Plus it goes on a diet by removing the novelty.
Is this supercharger only for the buggies? Or do you have other super chargers for other RC trucks and cars and boats? Please comment back and let me know thank you very much for this video
I actually tried this. It kills the engine torque but gains higher rpms and I think it should have been designed in a way where the carb sits between the engine and the supercharger. Also the belt could not handle the pressure and I had to replace it 3 times in 10 days before I gave up.
Would be really cool if u can show us baja owners a vid on a baja running with the the super charger installed. A few runs back and forth somewhere would be awesome and thanks for the vid.0
Holy S--t!! This really works! I installed this in my OBR engine, and wow is all I can say. Where do people think that it will only work for 4 stroke? This thing is insane. Funny how people talk all this non-sense, but have never seen one in action. Guys, this really works, and will probably put 2 more horsepower out of your engine... it is very noticeable.
Erick Bove You better believe it works! 👍🏻 As the rpms grew reactions in the garage became one of disbelief...those who spoke were amazed to find that their voice had gone down in frequency that’s when the low hum started. Some though odd, started to eat large quantities of shit🙉💩👩👩👧👦💩🐸💩🧟♂️💩, but that dark petrified zombie, idk why they ate all of him maybe because his villi were asleep? Anyway,
Yes, it has a significant increase in hp, power varies depending on the engine and exhaust, and yes it is compatible with the OBR 36cc. If you need more information, feel free to give us a call at 315-451-4440
Lol! 😆 It sounds like a crock of shit though! Real superchargers don't use tubular rubber bands, they use belts. I just don't see these tubular bands functioning correctly. You know what I mean mate? 😆
I would imagine that you'd want to set everything up as though it were a reed valve, because with the supercharger constantly pressurizing the crank case with air and fuel, you'd also want higher volume in the crank case to allow more air and fuel to be charged through the transfer ports.
It's not constantly pressurizing the crankcase. The rotary intake valve integrated into the crankshaft prevents the "supercharger" from pushing air into the crankcase except when the intake valve is open.
Well yeah, but Zenoah/CY engines do not have rotary valves. There are reed valves...But what I'm saying is to literally have the intake manifold flow directly into the crank case without any valves closing anything off..It's just theory of how to get these to work better.
If this specific engine has a reed valve in the intake, rather than a rotary valve as smaller engines have, then I agree that this fan could pressurize the crankcase a little bit more than the engine could normally achieve -- IF the fan is capable of exceeding the "cracking pressure" of the reed valve, so air could actually get past the valve at all.
how much psi does this make?? and i know you "can" run forced induction on 2 strokes, its just very inefficient as the combustion/compression is only on the intake for such a short period of time your really only using a small fraction of the compressed air in the cylinder as the exhaust/intake over laps. but the intake/compression moment is there only for such a short period of time compared to the rest of the power cycle it does work just not as well as a 4 stroke engine
Forgot to add that forced induction can be used to reduce pumping losses, the miller cycle engine is one example of this, piston pumps are very inefficient, so using a turbo/blower to do some of the compressing makes the motor more volumetrically efficient. Look up the 2000ish Mazda Millenia S on wikipedia or here on YT.

No, that's chromed injection molded plastic. Also "supercharging" a two stroke crankcase-scavenged gasoline engine is totally useless since it's supercharged by design, thanks to the inertial supercharging effect.
Hi there is it possible to have a supercharger for a gas power (26cc) boat working on "NO" clutch with "5" inch rails? and how much are these superchargers?. Thanks for your help Marc
I gotz a rubber band powered, plastic charger on my Civic. It blows the doors off Lambos n shit. 6" pistons... Plapinom sparkplugs, K&N air filter. Seriously.. RB is still ripping off the ignorant with this 2 stroke charger bullshit.
Useless and actually robs the engine of power. The extra power, "if" any is wasted having to spin the super charger, it adds drag to the engine. Plus the motor takes longer to reach peak rpm with the added drag and weight, A engine without this will reach peak rpm well before a engine with one, therefore making your rc car slower at reaching top speed and slower in acceleration. Lots of people showed up with these at local races a while back when they first came out and was a novelty and got beat badly. There is a reason that professional racers DONT use them. Not a single professional sponsored racer use them. Plus the simple fact that they dont provide dyno or any type of proof they actually work. They sell you on the wow factor of appearance, not practicality.
it's dramatic how you try to scam people !! you CAN'T supercharge a 2stroke because the exhaust port is always open and you can't hold the pressure in to the cilinder !!! a.k.a. SCAMMER
You can't really pump air into a 2 stroke? The exhaust and intake are not valve controlled and are both open on down stroke so any charge built up would just be lost out exhaust. The best is what's already well walked ground which is taking advantage of the pressure wave in the 2 banger exhaust.
I would buy one of these but they are priced WAY too high... I am going to have a go at making a 3D printed version I will let you know how I get on! 😉
Contrary to what most people believe this probably would make a noticeable difference over stock. Initially when people hear about super charging they think about air being compressed in the cyl... Well thats partly true but only for 4 strokes. Since the 2 stroke cant actually compress the air the way a 4 stroke does under boost the super charger in this case is NOT for compressing air for the 2 stroke.. Its for flowing MORE air through the engine. Which in turn means running more fuel and hotter spark and a stronger power band. Some people seem to think its usless because the engine cannot compress boosted air, that it " blows by " well thats the point in the case of a two stroke. To put it simple.. The more velocity/volume of air passing through that cyl.. the more power. Again... the idea is not compressing the air, just flowing more through the engine to run a richer mixture. Any time you can add more fuel to ANY engine with out flooding it, youll obtain more power.
I was thinking about that, the higer flow makes the cylinder get cleaner air by eliminating all the CO2 and the engine will run sligthly cooler, we cant call it a supercharger but instead a superfan
Yeah i think people heard the same super charged and immediately think that it means compressing the air but thats only in a 4 stroke engine. regardless of what anyone says about this... If you can flow MORE air through a 2 stroke engine you will get additional power.
Running rich produces LESS power, not more power. A rich mixture combusts more slowly and wastes energy heating up the portion of the fuel that doesn't get burned. A lean mixture (within reason) always produces more power than a rich mixture. That's why running lean is so dangerous; even if the engine is properly lubricated, as is the case in a 4-stroke engine with a dedicated oil supply, a lean mixture will burn hotter and make the engine work harder, causing the engine to overheat. That's why the way to prevent detonation or pre-ignition is to enrich the fuel mixture, to cool the engine down and make it produce less power.
Flowing more air into the engine?. Isn't that how compression works? You shove more in the same space, so the airs denser than usual. Meaning it's been compressed.
If this is really pushing more air into the engine you would have to jet up the carb or it will lean out and blow up asuming rc carbs have jets? Lol idk
the carbs on these 2 strokes have diaphragms and not jets but little oles and channels for the petrol and mini moto carbs they have a float and float bowl and jets
you won't make much more power with a kit like this. the better and free option would be to Dremel a boost port into the cylinder wall and window the piston you could also drill the Piston to prevent parachuting and increase the RPM another thousand and of course let's not forget a bit of porting keep in mind cranking out more then 18000 rpms will fry the stock bearings replace them with skf
I think these will work better if the charger were to flow directly into the crankcase where it will be pressurizing the crankcase at all times with air/fuel...sending a heavy charge of pressurized air fuel into the combustion chamber once the transfer ports are opened.

In fact I think I’ve got enough stuff I could make them for about 160, bucks..after looking up the stuff I need..easy..
