Astrology relies on the thought that there are some things higher than science, like spirituality. For most people is just fun, but the essence of it is spiritual. So if you believe only in physical evidence, then astrology surely isn't for you.

Thanks for making this! I always felt discouraged being born under a "masculine" sign because many books I've read about "feminine" signs like cancer and libra are "gifted" with the most beauty. In my experience, I've met beautiful people from all 12 signs.
You know you have like a whole natal chart, and if you're born at night, you relate more to your moon sign than your sun sign (your zodiac sign). There is no scientific base proof, I know, but astrology is waaaaaaaaay more complex and detailed than you might think. YOU HAVE A FULL CHART! Meaning that you don't relate to one thing only, everyone is a bit of everything. You have placements of every single planet in out solar system. SO please don't be so ignorant and argue against something you don't know completely everything about. :) (P.S.: Trying to guess someone's sign IS impossible because they don't act like his or her sign at all times, especially when you first meet the person).

I love the spirituality of zodiac signs. it all still deals with energy but it's taking in account of the universe around us and how we are affected by it.
There is much more to take account for than just the typical zodiac sign. If you do not relate your sign, it makes sense, because there is much more than just the typical sun sign. There is a moon sign, which is your deep emotions, there is your ascendant sign, your venus, mars, mercury, etc. I hate when people think that just because they don't relate to their sun sign it means that it doesn't exist. That's not true. There is much more to it. You have to read your full birth chart in order to know more about it.

My sun sign is pisces but the description of leo describes my personality a lot more, especially when it comes to meeting new people and when I did the chart my ascendant sign is leo. Scorpio, Libra and Aquarius also showed up frequently in my chart. Theres a lot more to it than just the sun sign like you said.

Astrology is a lot more than a Newspaper's horoscope. There is a rising sign, Moon sign, Mercury sign, different houses. All of these actually are personalised and might help someone to realise what they're struggles are and how to help themselves. They can show a lot of insight on why we feel a certain way about things and it all does make sense. Maybe not scientifically but it stays true to a person. The horoscopes in magazines are literally there just so people can relate, like you said.🤷♀️

I find astrology interesting, especially after finding out that there isn't usually just one sign per person. Most people just associate with their sun sign, but there's also the rising or ascendant sign and a moon sign for each individual... I'm ascendant in libra, sun in cancer, and moon in virgo, but I don't follow them heavily even if they do somewhat match my personality and beliefs.

I personally think that astrology does have some influene on personality. I don't know about the other stuff but this is something I can check for myself. Even though those definition of particular signs are often made to be relatable there are some things that I find very true for each sign. I think person's sign can tell a lot about them but you have to keep in mind that we all are different in some way and even if most of Capricorns are pessimistic and "all work no fun" it's just a stereoype and there is still plenty of people that are not like that. (I used Caps 'cause that's my sign~)

I'm an Aquarius and I believe they are true because 99% of the traits for my sign are exactly like me. I mean, it's almost crazy and scary how accurate it is. I don't agree with the pairings though because it's based on the signs' elements and I don't feel my element is what my sign's element is. And that pretty much the only thing that I'm not 100% Aquarius.
But if you discribe this traits to another sign, this person will find that this traits also corresponding to its personality, simply because of the barnum effect.

Alright, let me try to sound like a sane human being while explaining this pseudoscience knowledge to a bunch of extremely smart people who love science as much as I love astrology. First of all, astrology goes deeper than just traits that newspapers randomly throw out. There are as many signs as there are planets, and as many "houses" in a horoscope chart as there are signs. Every single person has their own unique horoscope chart, not just their "sign" . The problem with the masses following their "signs" is that they don't look any deeper than just that. There is more to astrology than just one sign. For example, if you are born on January 1st, yes you are a capricorn, but you also have a moon sign which could be a different sign. You have twelve of these. Therefore you are not JUST one sign. Think about it as twelve different personality traits. Everyone has all twelve inside of them, but the levels in which each are stronger or weaker is depending on your own personal chart. Your sun may be Aries, but the traits of Aries may only be at 30% for you if you have a Cancer Rising or Moon sign. Astrology is not so simple as to narrow down to one element, which is why science and astrology does not clash very well.
Now just for a moment, relax your smart science-y brains and think just abstractly, if the sun's rays are able to reach Earth and we are all affected by it daily, then how do we know that Saturn's rays are also affecting us in ways we are unable to test yet? This is only an idea, to think about. Human beings, no matter how much we want to think we are different than other Earthly things, we are just that. Just Earthly things. We are affected by the seasons we are harvested and the places we are raised by the people who raise us. Persimmon season is Autumn, and strawberry season is Spring. A persimmon is stale in February and a strawberry is sour in November. Alright, I know, I know, I'm going a little bit overboard comparing humans to fruits, but astrology is abstract. Not simple and not re-testable because there are no two humans who are exactly the same. People who only follow popular culture astrology don't understand the depth of their beliefs, and people who are skeptical of astrology have never really taken the time to try to deeply learn how astrology works.

I do think there is some validity in astrology, and our actual placement on the earth at any given time for that matter- both in a broader sense. Fact is, there's plenty of things that can't be tested and forces we know nothing about (and may never will).

I like the more complicated side of astrology. Where the different planets, houses, and aspects fit into my everyday life. Most people who read horoscopes don't look at the same things I do, and are only looking at their sun signs, and how that placement might affect their life. There is much more to astrology than the horoscopes Cosmopolitan pumps out every week.
