One thing about the Mora Eldris is that it does have a decent handle. I have the MSK and it is okay for light duty tasks such as cutting open mulch and manure bags and messy use where you don't want to screw up a nice folder with bearings and intricate locks. The MSK hides better than the Eldris. I may get an Izula down the road.

I think the MSK is more a small carving knife for very fine work, I would not call it a survival knife by any means. Your review is honest, and the Izula does fit the hand better overall. On video I've seen the Scandi Trekker and MSK side by side; would the Scandi Trekker be closer to the Izula II?
I never tried the MSK but I do so agree with you. The handle of a knife can make it or break it. The grip has to enhance the pressure, torque and slicing capabilities of the blade and by failing to do so, renders the best of blades a nuisance.
As an Alaskan, neck knives are difficult at best. Most have trouble in extreme cold weather conditions. Since I spend most of the winter months above the circle. Small knives are not my Forté. I do own an Izulla 2, but we use them at the table for caribou steaks.
The only way I could get a good grip on the MSK was to put a loop in the paracord big enough for my pinky to go through.. once I do that, the knife kinda just 'locks' itself in my hand and I feel like I could take on a pack of Wolves Liam Neeson style!
I have the MSK, IZULA and IZULA II and to really be fair you should have used the IZULA and not the IZULA II. If compare the two IZULA's you would still like the 2 better because of the longer handle.
I am looking to buy just one izula 2 or 4 in essee. Best warranty ever. Cold steel doesn't offer that warranty. I am going to esee least i will get a new knife if i break my knife un like othrt knife company s.
Well its gotta be esee for me then.. I hate scandi grind knives.. my mora is thrown in the toolbox of my truck incase i find myself without a knife but i really despise that damn thing.
I have the msk not a fan. My favorite is utica utkn2 it's a great neck knife. It's got a better edge and grind then both the MSK an the esee. Out of the two I'd take the izula 2 all day. But utkn2 is my choice.
Anything ESEE is automatically superior to anything TOPS could put out. Tops knives are almost all novelty items. Do they function, yes. But most of them are just about how they look. At least this is how I receive these knives. ESEE knives are tried and true survival tools made by actual survival experts who have fine tuned and perfected a series of knives to be tools. Not toys.
I cant stand my MSK1 , glad I got mine for $40 cause they ain't worth more than that imho. ..I do like the scandi vex but that handle is bad. A good alternative is the Brisa Enzo Necker or even better their new Bobtail which I really like . You can buy blanks and sheaths at Thompsonsknives.com It's much better building your own handles for these little blades .
I've been carrying an Izula for over a decade and I just ordered an MSK. Really looking forward to trying it out. Great video.

Watch the extreme knife tests on dutch bushcraft knives' channel and you'll find out it's actually the other way around pretty much with hard use.
