Oh mu lovely 😍 Ursula I met a fellow country Lady. She's from Capetown, South Africa. I was telling her all about you darling. So happy to know another. This looks great. 👌 Hugs ❤️ 🤗
Thank you soo much for explaining things very clearly! I am not a beginner but sometimes i think it helps everyone to be reminded of basic things. Thank you again !
Oh I'm going to enjoy making this gorgeous shawl. I have already ordered my yarn, Caron Skinny Cake Acrylic in rainbow colour especially for it. And I have ordered beaded tassels for it too. Thank you for sharing Ursula. I can't wait to get started with this one! ox
Hi again precious Ursula. I really love how it turned out. I came in late on your Live, will have to go back to watch from start. Thanks for sharing this wonderful Teaching Tutorial. Love the tassel and how it turned out. Love you Bunches!
Ursula, you do the best tutorials. ❤ isn't it amazing how different all those shawls look yet they are all the same design? I have 2 corton cakes and was looking for a shawl to do. This may be the one i do. Thank you 😊
I sure hope you are alright. I have been missing you. Please come back to the You Tube Streets soon........ some of us are in granny square withdrawal... 😵💫
You bet! I wanted to put out something that is completely, utterly basic, so that anyone can attempt it but that the advanced or intermediate can have fun with when it comes to creative borders!
i started making this shawl this weekend! It's turning out lovely. I am making it out of acrylic #4 weight self striping yarn and it is gorgeous so far! I'm so excited as this is my first shawl. Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial!
Hi Mindy!! I'm really happy about that. All my shawls are really easy. Using two or three stitches to make a lace shawl. Check it out in my WEARABLES playlist on this UA-cam channel. Thank you so much for leaving a lovely comment. xx
Hello Ursula beautiful shawl. I had to look up your channel because I just realized that I am not seeing any videos popping up of you . Hope you are doing well, any how I am just going to catch up on your videos ❤
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful pattern and clear tutorial! I have been looking for a pattern such as this one. It couples the ease of the granny stitch with a less dense, more airy look. For those of you who have added a border, which one did you add?
Beautiful I’ve never made a shawl. I’ve never worn one either but I think I might have to what do you wear them with? I think I’ll give it a try. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Hi Lainey! In my livestream dated 29 January 2024, I am wearing the shawl on the very left of this thumbnail. I'm wearing it over a sleeveless, round neck top. I will post a picture in the OMGrannySquare facebook group for you to see. I wear it like I would wear a cardigan. Going to a BBQ, and when it gets chilly, just drape it over my shoulders. It is surprisingly warm, though it's a thin cotton. As I wear it, as a 3XL girl, it covers my arms up to the elbows comfortably.
Can a 4 weight acrylic yarn be used and what size hook? I cant use a thin yarn! This shawl is soooo gorgeous! I have always wanted to make a shawl and have never tried but need to work with a thicker yarn. Please let me know what yarn would be good for me to use that is a 4 weight acrylic. ❤
Hi Lauretta, it really does not matter. Use the hook recommended on the ball band, which ever weight you choose. I even made one with a 3 weight cotton, still using a 4mm hook and it came out great. I want to make a version in 3 weight acrylic and then make a short video on the result. Bottom line, if you like a cake, then go for it! I honestly do not think it matters.
I miss you, Ursula!!! Sending you hugs & love; think about you often! That is a great idea to hang it on the line and spray it. ⚓️🤗💙🌹

Use the recommended hook on the ball band.
Hello there…beautiful shawl! 💗. Can I ask…what weight yarn do you recommend? I have a couple of cakes that are 2 and 3 weight. Thank you! 😊
