- My friend was smelling oil from his car when he parked it. I checked it out for him and noticed oil leaking from the valve cover. I replaced the valve cover gasket on his 2006 Ford fusion. I ordered the gaskets from Autozone part number # VS 50639 R-1.
I had to do some cleaning and removing oil from the wells but over all an easy job and not much time involved to do this.

Not really unless it's dirty or needed...just keep the area around it clean and you should be fine.
