It won't look hard and bland if presentation it well just like your doing it feel easier to me. I'm amaze about linux-assistant nobody done this before. So your content is unique.
True i didn't install fedora cause gnome gave me a headache.. i also tried kde plasma in it, kinda was too many features, which put me off. I just heard of debian so i am trying it.
i am finally switching from ubuntu to debian for first time, i have this machine for personal use browsing, chat, etc.. i dont want win11 to snapshot every thing on my screen and ubuntu 24 is heavy for my alternate machine. in my opinion ubuntu is by far the most polished distro in linux world. i have been using it for more then 6 years, Yeah snap sucks and its slow and freezes also thats why i have come to conclusion to have debian as my daily driver. Thanks for this video
Can I get some help? I used the linux-assistant and now anything that I selected to be installed is NOT being installed. I guess every setting I've made isn't saved also. It's a fresh Debian, installed by this tutorial.
Tried installing Debian to my laptop (that doesn't have Ethernet connectivity). Debian didn't give me the option to install a Desktop Environment - this is after I checked the SHA256 checksum, and the signature file, to confirm no issues with the installation. Once the install was complete, the service have VERY limited functionality. Currently wrestling with setting up the wireless accessibility from bash, in order to see if that gives extra functionality.
Nice video, very usefull..i didnt know that assistant even exists so i did all manually xd but it is good to know that it can provide gui setup of your system..
INTERESTING... I had KDE that I installed on the Debian 12 vanilla.... LOVE IT-- Can't wait to see this-- I like cinnamon too.. Might make that an alternative that I can switch between.. :) THANKS. - GREAT video.
Hello, could anyone help me. I installed debian and after Install every time I attempt to boot it there's always a error saying no bootable devices found. Should I Re flash debian 12 or is there a fix to this.
Currently I have windows 11 installed in my machine and I have three monitors. I want to install debian, will all the monitors get configured automatically or will I have to take care of it by doing some extra steps ?
when i installed debian i did not have the start menu for lack of a better term. It felt very under powering and like i was hitting a dead end. So thats why i dont like the OS. But the installation went fine and i had no issues with drivers or anything.
I need your helps brothers. When I try to install something it show Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: wmctrl How I should to solve it? I am extremely new on Linux universe, so, I have no idea..
@sinisasinkovic4334 I got a realtek 8852ce wifi card. And the thing is I am not finding that great of help. So I just been using Ubuntu 22.04 which supports my wifi card out of the box.
I hate the Desktop Debian uses. Maybe hate is not a strong enough term. I prefer the Xfce, by quite a wide margin. The OS and its controls should stay out of the way. It should never be the center attraction or the whole show. Yeah, I know programmers like to be the focal point but you guys should know better. Let the end users decide every point of the interface. The biggest error is the was the whole desktop is consumed for every little choice. Really, who else would be so in love with their own work? Hide it. We don't get a computer so we can fiddle with to OS. And when I say hide it, I don't mean behind a lot of jargon. Make context sensitive submenus (like right click) control most things. What's wrong with calling an app by what it does like file manager instead of Thunar? Get all those geeky clever names out of there. Call it mail instead of Thunderbird. Yes, I know Xfce does many of the same showoffy things, but the worst case is the Debian desktop. The worst!
@harrymason1053 Ofc, but cant the developer(s) of the parts of debian you dislike, express themselves through picking arguably creative names for apps and making their design choices?

last but not least i am not able to do anything with -sudo so that was also a bit of a disappointment

The best way to install DEbian with a cinnamon desktop- is to install LMDE6 and be DONE with it..
I use debain but I have a very new laptop from this year and my wifi card does not work out of the box.
Probably Manjaro detect it better
Try to find manual driver installation procedure for your chip. I had to do the same for my Realtek 8821 based card.
@sinisasinkovic4334 I got a realtek 8852ce wifi card. And the thing is I am not finding that great of help. So I just been using Ubuntu 22.04 which supports my wifi card out of the box.
