This is my problem exactly. I just realized everytime a defender starts to run up to me I put more arch on my shot and usually make it. I cant get the pipe though. Any other way to get more arch
Love your videos they’re golden even though they’re quite old I hope your still active because I have a quick question regarding the shot pocket and elbows . My question is should the shot pocket be above the pelvis area with the elbows tucked aka stomach area with the ball slightly in front of the body or should it be around the pelvis area with my shoulders going slightly pass my back with the ball close to my body.
You want the ball slightly offset so as you bring the ball up in your shooting motion, the left edge of the ball is in line with your nose (for right handed shooter). So your left eye remains uncovered throughout the shot.
Do you find that the Gun or Sure Shot shooting net ball return systems help with the Arch as well? I have noticed those net systems make the ball go over and come in at an angle.
Dustin- You are right, the shot return systems' nets do cause the shooter to shoot with more arch. The only drawback I see is the arch is exaggerated on shots closer to the basket.

+Mungo Jack I should mention that there are non-mechanical factors (mental) that can cause poor shooting performance such as poor shot selection, succumbing to pressure, great defense on the shooter, etc. This video is focused on the chief mechanical reason (flat shot) for streak shooting. A low-trajectory streak shooter will have days when he/she can't even make many shots in an unguarded shooting drill.

I have a good arc it’s just that for someone reason my mechanics make me streak what should I do
