Love this! on Hoya affinity serpens: Its is soooo much easier! You can tell them apart because affinity serpens leaves come in purple/reddish! I ended up getting rid of my reg serpens because I could never keep it happy, but af serpens thrives with basic hoya care!
I like easygoing aglaonema. I have the Maria, which is a beauty and grows quickly. I also love the aglaonema red Siam, the red ranges from a bright red to a burgundy and every leaf is different. I'm starting to lean toward common houseplants. They've become common for a reason. I've had a really bad crps flare that has knocked me flat for over a month. I've been paying attention to the plants that haven't skipped a beat. My 4 aglaonema are doing well. My "plain" green pothos, golden pothos, and marble queen are unfazed. I'm glad I have a lot of plants in self-watering pots.
The H. Mathilde is definitely a Hoya that’s on my list. I love the idea of this video. Showing us the a plant versus battle. 15:34 I’m on my 2nd one and she’s sitting in water. I got it from Growin Green for $25. It was a two leaf stick looking tree 😅. I definitely feel you. I loves the camo. 18:42 Yes I loove the Ag. Chocolate found mine at my local nursery. They had these nice 5” pots with multiple plants for a good price. I should’ve gotten two.🌱💚
Great video! I think the Summer Glory is an excellent choice as a substitute for the gloriosum also. It’s not velvety like the gloriosum and glorious but it is so easy and beautiful with pink petioles and pink veining.
It's definitely not a watering issue. I don't like how scraggly they can grow, and mostly how they revert. There's just better variegated pothos than those two.
I’ve had my serpens for about a year now. I heard that it was fussy, likes increased humidity, and also is a creeper. I immediately transplanted to a wider pot, but still a small pot and pinned down each vine that was long enough (used a half a paper clip as a stake) and I keep it in my milsbo cabinet. It likes to almost dry out before watering but I tend to water it a bit more than other Hoyas. It’s loving life!
I felt the same about the Brandi until I put it on one of those D-shaped foldable moss poles. Now my Brandi is one of my faves and is growing so happy! But I definitely almost gave up on mine before doing that lol.
I had my brandi in soil always looked like it was sick. I threw it in lecca with water. It has never been happier. No yellowing leaves its growing. Go figure. It was almost on the trash heap😅
I just dont have the energy to keep this one looking nice when there's so many other silver leaf Philodendron that are better!! My mamei silver is to die for 😍😍
I definitely agree with all your picks 😅 I have the Hoya Serpens and it’s in moss right next to the humidifier because it loves humidity but still struggles a bit. I do have a Gloriosum and it hasn’t been to bad for me. 100% hate Brandis 😂
Love the plants, all of them even the ones not to buy. I have 2 serpens and the one I pined to have it crawl, the other one is on a small trellis. The crawler died and the trellised one is still hanging in. I love my manjula and my snow queen. I’m only so so on my micans. It’s long but the leaf size is small the further down you go.
🤗❤️💚🌱🌿🪴💦🌞Hugs adorable plant fam. Lots of cute babies. For newer plant growers these recommendations will be awesome starter plants. The beauty with less headaches.
My Brandi definitely looks dumb but I refuse to give up on her. I think I will try a sodiroi and see how that does. Great video. Thank you for your great content!
They can size up quite a bit like any pothos that climbs. It might take a few years, but eventually you can get a monstera sized leaf. They don't size up dramatically leaf to leaf, but over time you will see it. Sydney plant guy actually has a MASSIVE njoy you can see in a few videos.
I trust your judgment Jacklyn on plants 🪴 so I’m with you. Thank you Sweetie for this video I’m just now getting into Hoya’s 🪴 Your videos are so helpful. God Bless🙏🏽 and stay safe🥰✨🦋🌹
The fact that half of the people that own gloriosum say that it is very difficult, and the other half say that it is very easy, is very confusing lol. My one is doing so well and growing very fast. Given, for some reason, I have easier time with more difficult plants, than the easy ones. For example my ZZ plant is suffering for years and look so bad but i dont know what I am doing wrong, and my spider plant just hates me.
Everyone is different!! But compared to other Philodendron, that one definitely causes more problems for a lot of people. And for ZZ plants, less water, more light!
Oh gosh another great video and I do agree buy certain ones and don't buy others. I really love my Pothos Pearls n Jade and also N Joy, and I love the Manjula. I would really love to get the Aglaonema pictum tricolor, I have seen pictures of it but never have I seen one in person and it is so cool looking and I always love a pretty Aglaonema. But since that plant is so hard to find and get I agree that I would rather get the Homalomena Camoflage, it is so pretty and not as hard to take care of like that Aglaonema is. Oh I also love the Aglaonema Chocolate but have never found one yet. Oh there are so many beautiful plants I guess it is just what ever you might want and don't have to struggle with some of them. I love your suggestions on all of them and the different ones that are similar but easier than some. Thanks so much for a great video that gave me a lot of thoughts on some plants to get. I wish you a beautiful rest of your weekend, sending love and hugs, bye! 😂😍🤗😻👋👋👍👏🙌💜💜
How much humidity do you have in greenhouse..I have just bought the Dean Mcdowell..acclimating with prop box, but won't supplement until winter with humidifier... Did you notice I bought some plants from you off Plantstory? Congrats on your first Live... Love my manjula, njoy, pearls n jade, scindapsus exotica, etc...
I've been looking for a chocolate aglaonema for years in shops! Just wanted to see it before I buy. But not agreeing abt the Tricolor alternative as any easier 😢.
I had an ag. Chocolate and it died, and I’ve been trying EVERYWHERE to find one and everywhereeee online says it’s out of stock! I’m legit desperate to find one 😢😂

For sure! That's why I added in it when I was editing! I should have shown it though.
I have 2 gloriosum,s and mine are growing beautifully..I also have a sodoroi..and love her she,s growing so beautiful..
That's great!!
Self watering pots work great for me and mine thrive. No under or over watering problems. For pothos

Everyone will be different, for sure! I just think there's better alternatives to Gloriosum that have been effortless to grow for me!! ☺️☺️

Tengchongensis has been on my wishlist since I saw you unbox it! Basie Plants says it is a creeper, but I'm so happy it's better than the serpens!
Thats totally makes sense based on how it's growing. It's such an adorable plant!!
🤗❤️💚🌱🌿🪴💦🌞Hugs adorable plant fam. Lots of cute babies. For newer plant growers these recommendations will be awesome starter plants. The beauty with less headaches.
Absolutely love this style of video 💚🪴💚 would love to see more!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! ☺️

Haha! I definitely get it. I tried a few times with it and it was beautiful to start, but never lasted 😅
Do you know if the pearls and jade will size up on a pole? This was a fun video. I can attest that the Summer Glory is easy…and beautiful.
A little bit, but not too much. They don't get fenestrated so I like them trailing!

Mine serpon loves me growing great😊😊
Mine was for about a year as well, and then it went downhill. It grows, then dies back 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for some great advice! Ive been looking for a Brandy, i won't bother now❤
Feel free to try it out for yourself! But I do prefer sodiroi and the way it grows 😊
Agreed ,
💚🌱☘️🌵💚makes sense,better options,
The hoya serpen looove pon i transfer mi e to pon and she grow like crazyyyy
Thats good to know!

I really appreciate you too Jacklyn more than you’ll ever know, your just so precious ✨🦋🌹🪴🥰
Love listening to you❤

It fluctuates but never below 60%
The bat 😱😱😱😱😱😱 neeeeeeeed😍😍😍
Isn't Reginald cute? 😅🦇
I got him at World Market, but I saw similar ones at Michael's 😊
@@jaclynns.jungle I don't live in the US unfortunately 🤷🏽♀️😮💨 but he is very cute indeed
I've been looking for a chocolate aglaonema for years in shops! Just wanted to see it before I buy. But not agreeing abt the Tricolor alternative as any easier 😢.
The Homalomena? Just don't miss a watering on it, or put it in self-watering/semi-hydro ☺️
Ohh where do you find the chocolate aglaonema?
Your best bet is a local nursery or online. I got lucky and found one years ago in a shop, but have not seen them since!
I had an ag. Chocolate and it died, and I’ve been trying EVERYWHERE to find one and everywhereeee online says it’s out of stock! I’m legit desperate to find one 😢😂
Idk why they're so hard to find!! Wonder if I can import some maybe ....
That was very helpful thank you
That's what I'm here for ☺️
Great video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!!
I just got some brandi cuttings ugh
Get them up a pole and in high humidity and you should be okay!!
I've killed every N'Joy and Pearls and Jade, Ive ever had🥺😫😫!!
Oh no!! 🥲
The secret to those, bottom water and don't let the top inch get wet, and bright light. I killed a few myself. 😅
@@TheLowJacq I neglect the crap out of mine 🤣
Thanks..😁
@@jaclynns.jungle me too, I finally gave mine a pole to climb 😁
I have a hoya serpens…..it has ONE leaf🤣🤣🤣
Not at all shocked by that 😅
🙂❤️🌱✨
I adore Mathilde, she is named after our queen, but the flowers smell bad, like chemical mixed with paint.
I don't usually smell anything when she blooms, but I love her leaves so much!! 🥰
I've killed every aglaonema I've come near. They look so easy but no. Just no.
Most are super easy! Just have to get the watering down! 😊
Me too, I kill those! No more for me even though they are pretty🤷🏻♀️
Me too. I bought a red zircon baby and killed it within the month. Just couldnt get the watering right i think.x
Hi 👋
Heeeey! ☺️
Okay definitely an unpopular opinion, but my hoya serpens has been way easier than my hoya mathilde 😂.
I have the Brandi 🤦♀️🤦♀️. We shall see how dumb it is an will learn wat not to get firsthand. 😂
Definitely get it on a moss pole in high humidity!!
Soon as I can girl!!
