- Shooting the Mosin Nagant 91/30 upgraded with the Archangel stock. This rifle is chambered in 7.62x54r (rimmed). This stock is well worth the price and would recommend it to anyone who loves shooting the old bolt action rifle. Err.

the sound of that gun. I love it.
Did you guys ever hear about the scarecrow that won 1st place? They said he was outstanding in his field.
Alternating the rounds in the magazines, AND breaking them in like you’re already doing (very very smart on ur part, BTW... lol) should eliminate any future problems.
I also like to put a very very light coating of oil on any of my springs & even tiny-tiny-bit on rims of the cases themselves. Good luck with your Mosin & Arch-Stock! Love to see more of your review in the future
Nice and that rifle looking good
OUTSTANDING
OUTSTANDING !!!!!!!
Loved it so much you got a subscription and a like sir.. Thank you for your service..
Outstanding Video.
So far ive been happy with this promag stock and magazines, which did need the bit of filing shown in the instructions. The brass stacker mount still seems to be holding zero. Just gotta remeber no more heat shield!
So much fun to shoot!!! I’m buying me that stock!!!
That grey color looks nice. I set mine up in one years ago, back when they only came in black. I camouflaged it with a GunSkin and I love it! Great video, though it would have been nice to have a camera on the targets as well.
Sounds like artillery ! And it is hand held. Bad Ass !!!
And thank you for doing this and putting it up. Im never shooting at anything farther than 150 yards, scope or not. Next purchase for sure.
Thanks brother
SGT Johnny USMC no need to thank me at all. I didn't know you were Marine Core either. I know it's not my place as a Canadian but thank you for your service in defence of those principles that extend across borders and across cultures. As neighbours our countries are friends but as people we are family. Cheers.
When I finish your video, I'm ordering an OD stock for my 91/30 along with a rail and bipod. You, sir are an enabler. Edit: Yep, I bought the stock, rail, and bipod.
I can find the stock easily but not the rail and bipod. You got a link or a direction to point me in?
Every time you pop up after firing a round, you have what I have come to think of as the Mosin grin.
My Archangel is easily the most fired rifle I own, just pure joy. It is also the one I have had more complete strangers walk up and ask if they can shoot. Total strangers.
After about 5 rounds, we are friends, and I see that same goofy ass grin you have, don't know if it is the stock (which kicks major ass), the rifle (made in the millions, shot by malnourished people that were 5'2" tall with stunted arms, based on the length of pull for the 91-30 stock) or the round (longest continual production military caliber, and still being produced and used today) but the Archangel Mosin is a one weapon party.
Completely agree and well said
it's definitely the "Mosin grin" haha i get the same look when i shoot my archangel as well. can't wait to get it back from the gunsmith and lob some lead down range
I've seen some other reviews that the mags retention sucks e.g. if you tap the mag lightly or fumble a bit loading it and it gets bumped too hard all the cartridges launch out. Thoughts?
I am looking for a replacement recoil pad for my Archangel stock any information would be helpful?!
does limbsaver make one or another company make a better Recoil pad that the one that comes with the Archangel stock like you have that can just snap on??
Great video! That rifle is almost as OUTSTANDING as your positive attitude!! Thanks for helping me make a good decision in purchasing that stock for my mosin.
I wish this was Relevant but between the cost of a Nagant and the stock it makes no sense you can buy a new savage in 30 06 or 308 hell even in 300 BLK and a threaded barrel for less then $400 but the nagant is just a beast I wish you could still get them for $80
If you open the front feed lips on your mag it should feed easier. It seems like the nose of the rounds are fetching up on the face of the feed ramp. They are all set up for the 51mm and the 54R could stand to be angled up slightly. Not a guarantee because I'm not looking at it.
love this weapon..I have same set up...but ...had barrel cut to 16.5 inches..with a 308 muzzle break....I can hit steel plates out to 350 plus....this rifle does not get the recognition it deserves....
Couldn't agree more!
there is another video called "ultimate mosin nagant" he does build one and it looks great! the poeple that i bouihgt if from said to just shoot it as "god intended" aparently they have never shot a mosin in original form..
Great review, thanks much. I can order this for under 500 in Canada, all archangel equipped. Looks like a ton of fun to shoot and would do nicely as a hunting rifle. Cheers.
I wonder would this stock work for me? I just bought my brothers mosin for 200, and he sawed off the barrel a bit. I'm not sure by how much. I had a good experince with the arch angel remingon 597 .22LR stock they had.
I got a 9130 with a sporter kit, was before the archangel kit came out. the gun was cheap nothing special, I figured it would be a good gun to learn on and if I ruined it in the process not a big deal. my kit came with a scope, I typically prefer iron sights. the 10 round mags the archangel has are nice. sometimes I'm tempted to buy one just for that feature, but the gun turned out good and I don't want to mess with it. for what it's worth I left my barrel intact I didn't cut it off. what do you have on your barrel there, I'm curious?
So is it Bubbad out if I want to do this to my m44?
what is the purpose of putting that tape on the barrel? does this keep the barrel cooler?
If you use the archangel stock on a Mosin for hunting, remember that most states limit mag capacity to 5 or 6 rounds. My brother found this out the hard way, hunting in Colorado.
...that sucks.....God Bless Texas...
I ordered one for mine. Do you need any pillar blocks etc? I've had it 6 years, figured it was time.
Nice video
How did you mount your Bi-pod? MLock?
What do you have wrapped around the barrel to keep it cool?
I've been looking at doing the same thing, I wanted a bolt action rifle like a(rem 700 or savage) but tgen I saw the archangel stock for the mosin and it looks pretty sick. It seems a little cheaper in the long run too. My question is have you noticed any difference in accuracy after swapping stocks? Thanks for the vid, nice shooting.
The stock is good to go. After shooting it quite a bit, the only change in accuracy is the enhanced ergonomics that actually make it far more comfortable to shoot.
SGT Johnny USMC Good deal, thanks
where you get that wrap for the barrel
Whoa there, go easy on the bolt...
Hey Johnny!! Did you load the Archangel Mags the correct way? Much like the rimmed British .303 cartridge, any magazine (& any stripper clip) for Mosin’s as-well-as .303 Lee-Enfields, MUST be loaded with each rim case over-lapping/alternating the last one.
I’m nearly 100% certain that aftermarket Archangel mags are no different.
Nah, the interrupter keeps them from binding. You don't need to overlap them in any order.
Outstanding.
As I am typing this I am laying behind my archangel Mosin and it's worth every penny
Nellson Stout any feeding problems?
Love your attitude! Need more people like you at my range! It's like a retirement community sometimes. I shoot and expect to see shuffle board next to me.
@@Internaught-The-Wise Thanks for stopping by ill check if some one gives a @#$%......
Ah sorry none given. 😐
What's the Weight on this. Compared to the origional stock.
I purchased the archangel stock, rail, bi-pod and long eye relief scope, I replaced all springs in the upper receiver, but I have a problem, maybe someone can help me out or have the same problem, approx. 1-2 shots out of 20 the weapon dosent seem to cock, by this I mean, I cycle the bolt it ejects and feeds the next round, but when I pull the trigger-nothing, after I cycle the bolt a few times it will fire again, any ideas, thanks.
+Bob Ables trigger is worn out
Impressive! What do you have wrapped around the barrel? Looks like some kind of heat wrap? I've never seen that before.
Yea, helps QOL for everyone shooting until it’s hot.
Sgt, what material have you used to wrap your barrel with? Cheers, mate.
seconded.
@@smashbatgames Found some on Amazon. Type in "rifle barrel wrap." Cheers.
Outstanding
Outstanding, outstanding!
i love my angel !!!!!! i myself like raw targeting. no scope here,
How long is distance of You poligone?
I love my tack drivin Mossin...just curious about archangel ...it looks like it Rocks like a Hurricane..Amen
Curious, did you leave your barrel free float or did you mod the stock so the barrel sits all the way down into it? Or by chance did you use the barrel tensioner?
Left it free of the tensioner
@@SGTJohnnyUSMC Thanks for the quick reply, I recently converted over to the archangel myself and I see the gap under the front of the barrel and it had me slightly worried.I know Free floating is a thing, but, it just seemed odd to me.
So do you just strap this beast on top of that Honda when your ready to go home?
This beast drives me!
Awesome
Semperfi Hoorah👍
what's that you have wrapped around the barrel? does it server any purpose?
probably so that you dont burn the shit out of yourself
Lol makes since
Semper Fi brother - got a question about comfort and it looked like you had a little trouble with the feed, is it the 10 round mag that wasn't feeding properly?
Once the mags break in they feed reliably.
I don't know man, I seen a lot of jam ups in your video. The OD stock is exactly what I want, but the jams are the number one thing I fear. I noticed you said you bought your mags on eBay, so perhaps you got some of the ones that were the bad batch from the first production run.
It's a great product; best choice for the Mosin. Once the magazines break in they are good to go.
Thanks for the feedback man, I think I'll give it a try then
Cool vid man wat is that black cover on the barrel...
Barrel wrap
Throw on the whitt machine brake and the ncstar 3-9x w/integrated top dot and this is my go to budget eft sniper lol
This man is a true american!
This might be a stupid? but I want to know will this stock work on a Mossberg Patriot 300 win mag
The mounting points on the Mosin are probably different so I would guess it's a no as far as drop in ready
+SGT Johnny USMC that's what I figured. Thanks anyways.
Thanks for your service
I shot a cherry Finnish M39 of a friend of mine and it was a tack driver.
How's you install the rail system on that?
I also am curious of this, mainly wanting to know the forend rail he used for the bipod
@@russwilcox42 sling nut for bipod it's drilled into the stock
But is it outstanding?
Food hat outstanding outstanding
SGT Johnny USMC does it stand out too?
FUCKING OUTSTANDING!!
To me the original stock is more badass looking. id rather get the gewehr 43 for semiauto than have a mag in a bolt action. Ill make a vid of my k98 maybe one day inless i die. its not wood exterior anymore i bedlined the stock black but might go grey looks sick more modern looking such as this archangel but i do not like the looks of the archangel really but i do admire the attempt to give love to the gun its my favorite rifle on this earth.
I got the same setup, timney trigger,NXS big scope on top.(not necessary, but so nice). Same problem with some FTF and thats with newest mags.Gotta say,it's more about the shooters abilities than blaming any problems on the gun when it comes to shots on target.Ain't it cool to hear that fat delayed THWAK? Russian surplus ammo is CHEAP,corrosive and 3-4 moa on a good day.But that makes it at the very least,Minute Of Man.
How is that scope mounted?
I see you often have problems to reload this gun (2:30, 2:40). Maybe there are some mistakes in design. Original Mosin is reloading easily.
Sticky bolt. He needs to dissasemble and do some polishing with needle files, fine grit sandpaper, and JB bore cleaner.
And a 28" barrel...whats not to like.
i think it looks cool. i want to buy a mosin but i'm having a hard time finding an M44... or a mosin in general locally. i'm not going to buy one online, and have it shipped to my ffl and then pay a 100$ transfer fee, and dros and all that crap, buy the end of hte day a nothing special 91/30 will be 450$... forget that.
Yea, the are up in price for sure. Still, they are a staple in any collection.
just gotta keep lookin, bro. too many gun stores wanna pay their rent on mosin sales. look for a private sale, preferably from someone that doesn't look at guns as investments (like those nra douche canoes that support act of 86 so they can sell full autos for 5 figures). i don't think I've ever spent more than $100 at a time on private sales. if someone asks more than $150 for a used nugget, walk away. over 40 million were made, and if it aint Finnish, it aint special. if you feel like you wanna spend a whole bunch, at least get a hex or something with matching numbers or with a good finish. good luck on the search. they're fun rifles with a fun (and typically cheap) round.
Hang in there, just picked up a 1938 Tula for 160 bucks, the deals are still out there.
I've shot one of these before
where can I buy that gun
You can find a Mosin Nagant 91/30 at any local gun shop. Then you can order this stock from online or Cabelas
I bought that whole gun for 150$. and its legit.
Lol got ya beat, I got one back in 08 for 65 dollars
I have an old 7.62x53R. It has done by old Finnish Nagant. The only thing is that 5 rounds and no way to add Bipod to it. And now because dam Russia attach Ukraine I really want to be ready to push even on my own if Russia wants to come Finland :(
Says "No feeding issues" then has to fight with the bolt for a few seconds to even feed a round at the very start. Either you need to quit pansy handing the bolt or there's an issues with a rimmed cartridge in a 10 round magazine.
If I wanted your opinion I’d give it to you. Go back to contemplating suck starting your pistol.
Your shit is way better homie. Whew. Thanks for your input. Though I’d be more concerned with you obvious issue with diabetes.
You are literally posting media in a public atmosphere. To not expect an opinion from someone who has owned several Mosins and put a few thousand rounds down range with them is kind of ironic. Especially when I literally have had to tell people who have never shot one before to not be a pansy and man handle the rifle. Now, I'm glad you can react like a positive adult to 1 comment on your video. Especially when stating that rimmed cartridges have issues in box magazines in my previous comment. I'd say I'm sorry you took it so personal but after re reading what I said I can't come to the conclusion that I'm the jerk in this scenario.
As a person seriously wondering if they should justify spending almost $200 on a rifle that costs around $500 these days when it should cost $50, of course I'm going to comment and try to get down to whether or not this is an operator error or a product design flaw.
also, I can't believe you would tell someone to go kill themself just because they had something to state about a clearly obvious issue you were overlooking in your video. suicide is not something to joke about. and neither is telling someone to "suck start their pistol".
is it good for hunting??
Round is similar to the .30-06
Watch the tv show "Life Below Zero". The Hailstone family on the show mainly hunt caribou, moose, bear and seal with Mosin Nagants with original stocks on them. They don't hunt for fun (although they have fun doing it), they hunt to live.
no matter what, the bolt will always be sticky
Sticky bolt. Fix it.
2:10 thunder
ra ra ra raa ra ra raa rara
get it?
Glasses are all fauggy lol that yankee accent haha
Ahhh yes the mosin. The Russians somehow managed to make a bolt action that jams😂. I own one, bought it back when they were cheap. Would not count on this rifle for hunting or God forbid a gun fight.
No I won't; too lazy 😂
Is there a better version of this or like a upgrade of this gun looks good but I want something similar to it but powerfull
