1. Nope
2. Apple is one company, Android is a market. There's many companies doing many wack ideas. Of course someone did it before Apple.
Apple is the only company that puts more efforts in a LITERAL PENCIL than most of their iPhones over the past 3years.
And all this tech is over a decade old in Samsung phones
True 😅🤐
@@alwayslearningtechno, it hasn’t
@alwayslearningtech It's not? The S pen doesn't have the barrel roll or squeeze features. Part of the functionality can be mimicked with the air actions, but that's about it.
I’ve got a $15 tablet pencil from Amazon that says otherwise
Apple: "That'll be $17,496 please!"
it's like 100 dollars

for Europe, that's very cheap actually xdd
@@BingoXXIIV i guess technically it's "cheap" but I dont think you can buy europe. like no one is selling it.
Pressure sensitivity that we have had for a millennium is your first point 💀💀
Yeah, we’ve had pressure sensitivity and double tap actions with older models.
And the rotation thing too lol
What new here its a gimmicky shadow and no buttons just touch sensor wich are not that impresive anyway
Yeah most of these were on the previous 2 pencils
Not to mention all the other products that did this was well
@@el2746the rotation thing was different before, you had to rotate the entire pencil. Now it’s an actual barrel roll.

@@NitheshVG734 it's not? the previous apple pencils... also had pressure sensitivity......
Okay but the other end still isn’t an eraser so I’ll keep holding off from getting one
You just double tap and it switches to erase.. Way less movement necessary. That’s like people complaining about an eraser being attached to their writing utensil 100 years ago because they’re used to having a separate eraser
Yeah a pink tip would've been a nice touch! Perfect but Apple corporation isn't cool or funny
@@martinheath5947you just get a rebrand skin for it. They focus on sleek and futuristic. It’s their thing

@@Theaverageamerican0006 It’s just muscle memory at this point, not how it’s easier, they want a realistic feel.
Me personally, i love the double tap, i make all of my art on procreate
arent most of these features already common on a lot of digital pencils?
except the apple pencil costs an arm and leg. yay!
And no other third party pencil has the same features, because whatever they are doing with the Ipad is different than the standard. Only option for pressure sensitivity is $120 or $130
Edit: Oops I've just realized that I didn't specify that I was referring to pens for the Ipad. Yeah other brands have almost all features but for an Ipad you are caged into buying their product.
@@Jj82op i have a dell pencil that i bought when i bought my dell 2 in 1 and it has stuff like pressure sensitivity and 3 buttons that are intuitive to use and being able to hover and all that good stuff and it cost 90€ which my artist friends say was overpriced so given that the apple pencil costs 120€ means apple is overpriced as always
@@Jj82op The thing is, you need a brand new iPad that was released together with that pencil.
Honestly surprised that hover (cursor for brush preview) wasn't even a standard thing until it was announced as a new feature lol. Rotation has also been in Wacom stylus for a long time but I don't think it's that commonly used unless you're a calligrapher or something.
Imagine you’re tripping balls one evening and you go to your iPad to mess around and your Apple pencils shadow is a paintbrush 💀

if you want to draw on ipad, that's the way.
if not, you can buy a galaxy tab
@@LibrocreatesL2it's not great for artists, but if you just want to make notes and like the feel of a notepad over a keyboard (which is what a lot of people but ipads for) they get the job done for much cheaper
@@LibrocreatesL2 That's because on iPads only the Apple pencil works with the proprietary digitizer. On other tablets, you can buy compatible 3rd party pens. The bulk of the high tech stuff happens inside your tablet below the screen, not in the pen.
Apple's spec is far from the best in the industry, in fact the current gen Samsung S-pen has lower latency, more precise tilt (yes including barrel roll), and more pressure levels.
I have an apple pencil and i bought a knockoff apple pencil before buying the real thing it stopped working like in a month

As someone who dabbles in digital art, some of this is actually pretty neat, won't lie. But I don't see why I should get an entirely new super tablet for it.
I'm hoping some of this tech starts getting added to drawing pads I can just hook up to my computer! (Or at the very least im waiting another decade for my laptop to die)
Nahh my old Samsung Galaxy Note 3 pen had all of these except the barrel roll and double tap.
Yeah no one gives af about your note 2
I was about to comment the same! The note 3 stylus had the same features and it was almost a decade ago!!
I can't believe that the apple sheep's are going crazy over tech that has been out almost 10 years ago and to make matters worse, based on this vid, the first gen galaxy pen seems to be better than this latest version of apples pen. By the way, apple can't compete with Samsung in this area because I believe that Samsung bought out the company Wacom that is the best and pioneers of this technology.
@@victuringan1429 if no one gives af then you wouldn't have made the comment,,,
So it had pressure sensors on the sides, a software shadow, and vibration motors? I don’t think so
Samsung's Note Ultra series has* had half these features for years😭

theres always that android user saying stuff like this but I can almost guarantee Apples Pencil is better
Wait till they realize putting tin foil at the end of your pencil works as well
our ancestors: we used to write on sand
Apple just invented the s-pen
Pretty much
And people think it's groundbreaking innovation
The only new thing on here that the S Pen has is the shadow. The Apple Pencil is one of the few products that Apple has that completely outshines the competition
The s pen doesn’t even have all these features he mentioned but sure
The S-pen comes free though
I thought they said "Who needs a pen" when they were mocking the Galaxy Note !
Well, i guess the technology is finally cheap enough for them to sell it for a massive profit margin 😅
Precisely and the Apple fanboys and girls can't get their head around this simple year after year rip-off.
it's not comparable, and the "Who needs a pen" came from older phones (not even the Galaxy Note) that didn't have touch at all, or required a pen for precision. using a pen is still crap, but this is a great tool for artists ;)
Its Steve jobs who said that
He is gone now dude
Who wants a stylus, not who wants a pen. Styluses on resistive touchscreens had to die.
Apple has been making apple pencils for a decade now ..
And the great thing is it’s the same price as the 2nd gen
Apple is the defenition of ”slowly but surely” when it comes to technology
Why is no one talking about how other pens have had things like pressure sensitivity, rotating and the reticle before drawing for years? The Samsung S Pen was able to do all that years ago. I love how Apple lags behind on every single feature and sell it as "new" and "innovative".
Exactly! When he was showing off the pen having 'pressure sensitivity' and 'tilt sensors' like it's some genius new invention Apple has cooked up, I was like what? These things have been staples of other pens for YEARS 😂
@@kiwaminski Exactly, the only thing that's shocking about this is that the old Apple Pen didnt have these basic features

It’s sensitive to pressure and tilt so you can easily vary line weight, create subtle shading, and produce a wide range of artistic effects - all with pixel-perfect precision, so it’s as natural to use as a pencil."

Edit again: some guy down there was trying to call me out so I’ll put it back up. Steve Jobs would have demanded these features be standard on gen 1 and would have included the pencil in the box with every iPad.

the touch controls I feel are just kinda dumb. It's been pretty well established that touch controls, especially on things your hands are constantly touching anyways(ex. earbuds), are extremely annoying, like physical buttons are almost always better. Everything else that it supposedly just got are already on the s-pen, and not only that, but the budget version of the s-pen.
