Im really sorry about the low volume, I got a new mic and did not realize it was so low until I was in editing, I have since fixed the volume and going forward the volume will be much better :)
@@justvintagecrochet hello, i come from Holland. And i love you pattern. I have a question. I say a pattern by Hobbii it's called Moroccan Mint Tea blanket. Do you know it??
Stunning. I can't crochet right now, everybody wanted to do shots for every time zone that turned midnight I never realized how many time zones there are, now I'm a little woozy, no, I'm drunk, lol 😂 I won't be doing it again, I'm too old, but they had to drag great grandma into it this year, and if I had known how many time zones there were, I wouldn't have joined the young ones in doing it. I'm so going to be hungover 😢
I did that too, but only East Coast to Hawaii. Ended up tipsy, because I was also participating in hype trains on a twitch stream, and we kept going past the shots level.
I have had insomnia since I was a child. Now at 70 years old I have learned to just go with it. That being said I love to crochet while I watch tv or listen to music. I crochet up small lapghans and shawls for the rehab facility a few blocks from my house. I tell everyone I make them for the "old folks". 😁 Many of the residents have had amputations and are in wheelchairs so the lapghans are popular to help them stay warm.
Oh wow. That is so pretty. Your son looks so happy winding a cake. What a sweetie. All my children know how to crochet. One is left-handed, but she was the easiest to teach. I'm always looking forward to your next video. I work up everything with you. So much fun. Hugs from Florida ☀️🌈
Happy New Year. I have the same book so I will be doing the pattern later. I am currently working on pin cushions I am designing one after doing the hat one you had in a mystery. It turned out beautifully.
I'm definitely obsessed with the stacked single crochet stitches for all my projects these days. Thanks for teaching me. I never want to go back to flimsy starting chains.
That. is beautiful and so simple, I think I want to do this one...maybe I will tempt my granddaughter with it. I love crocheting with thread, so yarn will break things up for me. I am teaching myself to tat...thank you for upping my crochet game, been crocheting for 56 years, I love your channel.
It has been about 3 and a half maybe 4 months now that I have found your channel and I have followed along with a few things you make but not everything but I keep watching your videos as I am crocheting other stuff and even when I am feeling sick because your voice is so calming and it helps keep me relaxed so I am glad I found your videos and can't wait to see what all is coming in the new year 😊🎉 Happy New Year 🎉 😊
Love the design. So simple and beautiful. My daughter decided she wants to learn to crochet, so for Christmas I got her a set of hooks and 24 small skeins of practice yarn. She got me my first set of Tunisian crochet hooks, so we're both having lots of fun learning new things this New year. Plus I recommended that she watch your videos to help teach her even more.
Happy New Year! I love this one. I could definitely see my sister wearing it. I think it's wonderful doing these antique and vintage patterns. It's like living history lessons. My great Grandna was born in 1890 and crocheted using wool from second-hand items, which she unravelled,re skeined, washed, and wound into balls. Recycling was a way of life in those days. She would have been around when this pattern was first published. I find it so fascinating to think about the generations who have made these patterns. 😊
I made a cowl with Offbeat from Universal Yarn and a 4 mm hook. I used just one cake and made 3 buttonholes by chaining 3 and skipping the first, third and fifth shells on the third from the last row. The next row, I made the shells in the center chain from the last row. It came out cute! The extra texture makes it nice and warm. 😊
My sister in law just gave me a bunch of yarn, and there were several kinds that I did not know what to do with. I can do THIS! I think it will be perfect! I am so sorry you were feeling badly. I will pray that the Lord helps you feel better. Your voice is so chipper and sweet. I needed it just now.🩷 Happy New Year
Loving this one - I have a digital copy of the original book from 1912, this one is going on my to do list for sure. As for holidays etc. it was pretty quiet for me, but I prefer it that way. Just a note that at the moment I am working on a table runner for my Mum from a book of Heritage Crochet by Kathy Grin (she is from Canberra, Australia - that is where I live, I love the connection). And after that I will be doing a vintage pattern called the knitting lady (but it is done in filet crochet - I find that funny). I love the vintage patterns - I have started collecting them since watching your channel - thank you for this addiction. Hugs from Canberra, Australia.
The wrap is gorgeous! I actually found the book you were referring to and bought it! I never learned how to read patterns because grandma just showed me how to crochet and did not really know about crochet hook size either. I am making my very first sweater! keep your fingers crossed that it will turn out okay! I look forward to all your videos!!
I really love it when you do a tutorial that is not a mystery pattern. 😊 I love knowing what you're making beforehand and seeing how your version turns out with the modern yarn. It peaks my interest when you do these particular types of projects. Super excited to see it when you're all done, up close.❤
I have that yarn & its pretty . I hope i can find it again. My luck everything i like or need more of is GONE or discontinued. Wish me luck. Beautiful Work love this inspiration.
Hey from the UK! I had to work a 12 hour shift on Christmas and then the night shift on NYE! It’s all good though, I work with a great bunch of people so we made it fun! Hope you had an awesome Christmas! 💜💜
I very much doubt I am the originator but I did think of it recently and it worked out. I normally go for bigger balls of yarn (because I really dont like yarn chicken) so no yarn bowl sold really works. Then it hit me I can get a bigger plant pot from home depot! As long as its glazed and smooth it will work and not catch the yarn. Absolutely love it! Im also not one for a center pull or to constantly cake yarn.
Hey all. I hopeyou are having a good holiday. I am currently working on Bag O Day Hidden Deception blanket. It's a very simple bean stitch. I recommend it. I also recommend a self striping yarn or a verigated.
Happy New Year from the Netherlands🎉! We had a cosy family Christmas with our 2 sons, 1 DIL and my mom of 88. New Year's Eve was just the two of us, having a quiet evening. Watching television and me looking into a new pattern for a sweater for myself. And today I casted on. Knitting away the first rows, while watching you crochet. Which I also love to do, btw. ❤ Yours is a beautiful pattern, that I have added on my to do list!❤
Recovering from a total knee replacement and found your tutorial! Wow!!! How beautiful! I’ve got many shrubs of #5 yarn, so I’m going to make this. It’ll be perfect for the arctic air we have coming in … Thank you!
Love the stacked single stitch- making this as a shawl for myself and then going to grab all of my “scrap yarn” and make a blanket for my 2 year old grandson
I’m working on an afghan from a book by Oxmoor House called Afghans for All Seasons (1993 Leisure Arts). Pattern Delightful Daisies in white 😉. It’s basically a simple filet pattern but beautiful. Happy New Year! 🎆
I really like this shawl! Its so pretty on you! Not trying to be funny. Old lady here and I believe a pretty young lady needs a pretty shawl. It works. I'm making one. Old ladies need something really, really pretty lol!
Happy New Year, Corina! This is beautiful. Currently, I am working on a scarf and sweater. Next, I will be making throws for my 7 grandchildren. Oy! What was I thinking! But ,when inspiration calls, you have to act. I am looking forward to more videos. ❤
Happy New Year!🎉🎊 Glad you are feeling better. The shawl came out lovely and that yarn is tempting me. (Like I need more yarn.😄) And that book looks intriguing… Right now, I’m not crocheting, but I’m knitting myself a simple triangular shawl (“Simple Garter Stitch Prairie Shawl” from the book “Folk Shawls” by Cheryl Oberle - love this book, all knit shawls, from simple to lacy and more, taking inspiration from around the world), using Lion Brand’s wool ease in the color raindrops, a lovely deep, slightly warm, purple. I love shawls and live in them half the year. I plan on using the same yarn to make a cable knit beanie and a pair of knit mittens (more things I live in half the year), using free patterns I found on Lion Brand’s website for wool ease yarn, making myself a whole set to bundle up in.😊 Wishing you and your loved ones a fantastic 2025, filled with love, good health, and joy!💝 And thank you for your content. You inspire me, and I love vintage and antique patterns and learning about them.💟
Happy New Year, Corinna. Thank you for your tutorial. I don’t actually have any new projects to share, as my projects are all with you. I am a beginner and by watching your tutorials and reading along with your patterns this is allowing an assisting for me to learn crocheting. I really appreciate you taking the time to instruct and sharing your skills, demonstrating with your needle to show the yarn loop in which we are to insert your hook and I really like how you didn’t jump ahead as with some patterns I’ve seen on UA-cam, The instructor/teacher demonstrating will jump ahead many rows and this can cause confusion. I am somewhat housebound and learning to crochet is really filling in my days allowing me to learn a new skill not just for my hand and eye coordination but mentally. I don’t think people really realise how therapeutic knitting or crocheting can actually be for healing. By following your channel not only am I learning but I’m creating beautiful pieces, pieces I can give away as gifts or hand down to my children. I especially love the vintage crochet the bed spreads you’ve created -absolutely stunning. You certainly are providing a service with what you do. God bless.
That’s absolutely beautiful and looks like it will make up pretty fast. I lays think of the vintage patterns as dainty and delicate. Nice to see a really chunky one. I think I will give this a go in time for our Australian winter
I love it. I hope you do more patterns from the Lion Brand Yarn Vintage Styles for Today book. Would especially like to see the cardigan from the front cover. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year! I hadn't realized just how old the Lion Yarn Brand was 😮 When you said "1916," I was like, "WHAT?!" That looks like a very lovely (and cozy) wrap. I love the yarn you used ❤ The colors are wonderful.
Happy New Year as well! To answer your question later in the video I’m working on an entrelac knitting project of my own design. I found entrelac before I got married and had kids but since it’s a bit more involved mentally, especially in the start, I didn’t have the energy to do it. Since Im now in the other side of young children, I can do something a bit more involved mentally. 😊 I also agree with everyone else, that is a gorgeous shawl!
Corinna, I have been enjoying your videos for about a year now. I was always catching them through my Roku and was unable to make comments. So, I chose to finally pull up your channel while on my computer and wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your channel! I sit and crochet my current project while enjoying your videos. Side note, I was able to figure out where you went wrong with one of your videos, but I don't remember the name and you probably already have had tips on it or choose not to revisit since you threw in the towel on it. Just wanted to tell you that your videos are appreciated.
Happy New Year, so beautiful. I've used puzzle yarn. I love it when the yarn does the changes for you. I'm making a cardigan with sleeves it's by ophila talks called Mrs Potter cardigan.
Happy New Year! Making lace edging replacement cuffs for my worn out shirt, gave son a civil war hap, wearing my own same era shawl, and enjoying the little house shawls. All so much fun and so interesting. Love to see how you process the process. No off switch for sure! Thanks for lighting this fire🎉
