I tried out an 8 ft version in 4 wt. I thought it would have more power than it did. I own other Winstons in 4 wt and was not at all impressed with the Pure. I really cannot understand why this rod is held out as such a great improvement.
It's better than the Sage Mod, that's for me the better dry fly rod, its possible to cast a very small nymph but it's the same than all the medium action rod it's difficult to cast in the wind but it's dont make for this !
Great to hear, and if it is like my #4 9' it will handle every long and short belly five weight line with greatest touch. I would recomend having a "regular taper" with about 10-12 meters head and long backtapering. Those lines will handle overhead strokes effectively and also have in mind that this rod is the most awesome underhandcaster. It really took me with surprise how comfortable it loads and shoots out line. This is a ture sweet stick ypu will never leave home without:-)
@@stigvivelid-nilssen3125 ty, but can u recomend line more specifik, like for expl Rio Gold. I think more like, if u think Saintific Anglers line, which model. Ty for your time, i really like the way u cast, really amazing.
Awesome line control
Its possible to cast on the wind with this rod ?
Which fly line have you used on your 9' #4 ?

Which line did you use?
Awesome casting. Why 9' not 8'6"?
Is not the same action on 8/8'6 and 9' my favorite is the 8' #4 its the perfect dry fly rod better than the paradigm, and without swing weight.
How will this rod handle wind?... Is it equal soft as the Sage Mod?
