Greta touring day with touring rookie Inge along. He is an eminent skier, however this is his first touring in his own backyard ever. We suspect it not to have been the one and only. Poor snow quality in parts of this South faced run made skiing real tricky in the lower portions due to high temps last days.

I tried out an 8 ft version in 4 wt. I thought it would have more power than it did. I own other Winstons in 4 wt and was not at all impressed with the Pure. I really cannot understand why this rod is held out as such a great improvement.

It's better than the Sage Mod, that's for me the better dry fly rod, its possible to cast a very small nymph but it's the same than all the medium action rod it's difficult to cast in the wind but it's dont make for this !

    • @stigvivelid-nilssen8646

VTA 98 is a great ski, I had the VTA 88 light, sold them to replace them with these BMT90. Because I needed a more grunt ski for also slope skiing. But regret it. I use BMT 109 for almost all backcountry skiing- and a more allmountain ski for slopes. The RTM84. In other words: stick to the VTA98 as "the one ski for multipurpose". It's great;-);-).

Norwegian brand "MKB" but no longer for sale I think. You can get equivalent lines from all manufactores I belive. About 10 mtr belly and standard WF weight #4 line. I like a lot of different lines on this rod. Also long belly lines suites great. Of course underhand casting easier with shorter belly on line

*Very satisfied,>>>**allabout.wiki/9iqi ** I have worked it jigging for spawning crappie 1- 2 lbs. >>> You have to let the rod and drag do all the fight, that mentality of heaving the fish is not a good idea, I take advantage of it's sensitivity and light weight that does not fatigue your wrist. If you are an avid pan fish angler, highly recommend this if you can afford it, it is purpose for all year.*

Great to hear, and if it is like my #4 9' it will handle every long and short belly five weight line with greatest touch. I would recomend having a "regular taper" with about 10-12 meters head and long backtapering. Those lines will handle overhead strokes effectively and also have in mind that this rod is the most awesome underhandcaster. It really took me with surprise how comfortable it loads and shoots out line. This is a ture sweet stick ypu will never leave home without:-)

G'Day from Australia, I enjoyed your video very much. I learned much from watching the different stream conditions and the most suitable techniques to use for each. I often fish a dry fly with a nymph on a short dropper in the small local creeks that I mostly fish. The brown trout usually take the nymph and the rainbows the dry fly which is usually a Stimulator or Royal Humpy. Thanks and Cheers, Steve.

Most of the time the line is preferably no very much outside the rodtip to avoid line sagging and influencing in the dragfree drift we try to obtain most of the time. When I do need cast some line, a light line is still preferred to make less disturbance and easy to "lift off "surface as it comes towards your position downstream of the fish:-)

Skitt fiske:-)
