- I got an opportunity to ride with Tacoma Rails Hill Job crew recently and filmed the famous Tacoma Hill from the cab of TMBL 7001. The video starts shortly after entering the Lakewood Subdivision and ends shortly after the top of the Hill on the Mountain Division.

Love this footage of the old Tacoma Eastern gulch line it's sad that the old nalley valley prairie line mountain grade is gone in Tacoma Wn.

How did you get the opportunity to ride along?
Did you get any footage of it crossing 72nd?
I always see the tracks and know the exact running days, but I've never gotten a chance to catch the hill job!
It's always appeared to be abandoned, though I know it's not.
I always faintly hear them every day they run, but I never can really see them.
My dad even sent me a video he got with his phone of it crossing Military Rd.
It's almost like a ghost to me, evading me every time I chase it.
Despite my MANY failed attempts and continued disappointments,
I will keep believing I'm going to catch it.
I just have to get back in touch with Tacoma Rail
one last time.
