This is why Redman is still Redman. He never let the fame and fortune take over. By this point, dude was rolling in the money....yet, living in a place like you and me. Down to earth
they did a follow-up to this 8 years later though, because people kept saying it was fake and he doesn't really live in the hood. well, he did and he still does.
Saw a recent interview with Redman saying he still owns the house and its increased in value and he still lives in it. Whilst there are celebrities who bought houses for millions and cant sell them now and have had to reduce the price by millions. Who is the sucker now. Big up Redman!
@@herbderb4929 Only person showing themselves to be a complete and total sucker is you my friend for not being able to read or actually comprehend my message or understand simple economics or money. So just for you Hector will break it down. In no way was I knocking anyone for being a millionaire but what I would like especially those from the Hip-Hop culture is to be able to keep their money and to continue to grow their money. Those that come into to new money from Hip Hop or even sports....never had real money before, buying a fleet of cars that depreciate or property over their means which they can not afford to maintain or then sell at a market lost (which I'm sure 50 cent didn't like selling his mansion at 84% loss but I'm sure he learnt from it). But I am sure even you would agree does not make good business sense or when a high % sports stars go broke after they retire. So I will say it again big up Red Man for living within his means for showing how he really lives and not being fake which is what Hector "the real dummy" Green wants?
My mom was watching the draft last night. She said one of the player's houses looked like another house she'd seen from a previous draft. I told her they were flex houses, and it immediately reminded me of this episode of Cribs. This is a CLASSIC, proving it pays to be authentic.

In Sopranos they had one in their kitchen lol. That show was ahead of it's time/luxury of being a late 90s family. Vintage 2000s tech and yes very expensive but useless. There's a reason why game shows like on Nickelodeon and MTV would be a luxury to give some away. Useless like a Ipod though, there were cheaper and better stuff. It's like when everyone rush to get a Ipods instead of a MP3 player. It's funny to see the Dreamcast in here. Classic high tech gaming system. Funny to remember the whole PS1 vs Dreamcast thing as a kid. Luckily my brother conned me into voting to get the Dreamcast since he was a Sega lover. Late 90s-early 2000s was a grind for lower middle class families.

there's a story out there of him living with a white family near where how high was filming. They legit adopted him and had no idea he was a rapper. It goes right with this episode to showcase how down to earth he is
The fact that he had gifts for all his parent friends’ kids was so wholesome and really frikken adorable. He’s that uncle that thinks of everyone.
Redman was a real one for this. He even had a Dreamcast.
Daaaayum mee too!
well it was 2001
he even had one of the best dreamcast games ever too, hes knows his stuff, "get ready to rumble boxing"
@Papa Burgundy well there's Gamecube and Dreamcast....
...I said I got gamecast!!!
I wish I could find one. It was way ahead of it's time. Power stone hod 2k football and basketball. Plays from madden in your hand instead of the screen, the dream cast was dope, could've rivaled the ps2 if Sega wasn't so incompetent
This is why Redman is still Redman. He never let the fame and fortune take over. By this point, dude was rolling in the money....yet, living in a place like you and me. Down to earth
Til this day. He still be on his same bullshit 🤣. Nun but real
surprised he doesn't get jacked(that recording system probably 10k+), but I guess its not like the 90s
@EternalMix Meet some new people ffs
The funny thing about it is this was actually his spot a lot of the rappers didn't own them spots at least back in the day they didn't
I don't live in this that's my dream home
MTV HATED him for this. They tried to get him to rent a mansion and he told them NA!! 😂😂
facts i remember he said that
they did a follow-up to this 8 years later though, because people kept saying it was fake and he doesn't really live in the hood. well, he did and he still does.
😂
Only people that's not from the the hood would say he's in the hood artur297
Meaning that's not the fuckin hood that townhouse is at
the way he put his body through the broken screen door thingy at the end 😂😂 5:29
The crazy thing is he still owns the house to this day💯
I love him for that.
Good investment I see
For real??

That level of honesty is so rare in the industry. It's beautiful to see.
Saw a recent interview with Redman saying he still owns the house and its increased in value and he still lives in it. Whilst there are celebrities who bought houses for millions and cant sell them now and have had to reduce the price by millions. Who is the sucker now. Big up Redman!
Uhhh you're the sucker because you're the broke one knocking other millionaires dummy

Back then I didn’t understand why RedMan Wanted to live this way. But now as a 24 year old adult I fully understand. Thank You RedMan fo keeping it 💯.
UA-cam algorithms recommend videos from related to recent videos we have watched each month.
@Happy Thanos And because it was just posted on UA-cam 2 days ago....
@Happy Thanos Look at the upload date, dumbass.
Back then when you 4 years old? Yeah you probably didn't understand anything back then.
Lol bro I was like 6 years old when this video came out and I saw reruns of MTV Cribs all the time on MTV
My mom was watching the draft last night. She said one of the player's houses looked like another house she'd seen from a previous draft. I told her they were flex houses, and it immediately reminded me of this episode of Cribs. This is a CLASSIC, proving it pays to be authentic.
The craziest part for me about MTV Cribs is that after all the episodes I've seen, this is the only episode I remember. I don't even remember which celebrities were on this show after all these years except Red lol
Me too 😂😂😂😂
Everybody says this!
I lost it when they showed dude sleeping on the floor
That’s sugabear he be knocked out chillin in the cut
I got a Half Baked vibe when I first saw that part thinking about dude who he always sleep on the couch
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I noticed the cousin was the LAST thing he mentioned in the living room.
Lmaooooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this episode, celebrities spent a solid week getting their house up to par for their episode, but red just said “F it, come on over”
bro they weren't even their houses, this is real the sh*t
They wanted him to rent a house and he said no. They came earlier and he rolled with it.
Didn't even tell his cousin either like "They'll only be here 10 minutes"
Not the "F it, come on over"? 🤣🤣🤣
and no one wants to talk about how Redman had the hand lotion next to his television from Japan and the Dreamcast controller. This dude rules!!!!!
If he's still living in this house, guess what? It's been paid off. He don't gotta worry about a thing for the rest of his life. That's a win right there.
neighborhood is probably gentrified as fuck by now
Yeah I just watched an interview with him and he does still live there lol
Yeah I saw the interview too. He said he still live there and it's paid of. He got it for 60k and can sell it for 200k and the doorbell still ain't fixed 😂😂
Except paying house taxes every year
@@mybuffysummers a bit unfair imo but still a minor inconvenience for owning property.
I like this Cribs segment cause Redman kept it real and I'm like good for him
I remember when this 1st aired, people thought he was lying because everyone on cribs had the best, but Redman is a humble, hood OG! 💯✌🏾
The producers tried to get him to rent a place but he refused. They also surprised him by showing up really early.
not me, when this aired I was younger I thought that was the coolest shit ever having a partment to yourself and just having a game setup, a place with dvds for the freaks a dollar box lmao

Didnt they ask him to rent a mansion to show it and he declined ? That's awesome
They did. He mentioned it on his interview with Vlad TV where he talks about it.
@Jux_187 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV_Cribs enough said. #stayhome #staysafe #stayhealthy
Just like Lil Bow Wow did, with his rented Cars and House. lol what clown that dude was when he got exposed for it.
It's like how Pimp My Ride got exposed as being 90% staged/untrue/fake. I mean it was a great show and as a teenager I loved it, but it wasn't all peaches and cream.
@@MrWolfSnack i think xzibit said in an interview he did the show because he wanted MTV to play his music videos lol
It’s the transparency for me . I had to come here and look for this . I was watching an interview on drink champs with Redman and they were talking about it
This is the most authentic segment in the entire history of television!

Props to Redman for keeping it real and refusing to rent a lavish apartment or house as a facade like SO many others on the show did. Redman is the goat, fr.
You can tell he really loves making music. The music room was bigger than his ans cleaner than anywhere else.
He has very respectable gear in there too. Probably doesn't want a lot of dust and smoke blowing around in there screwing up the sensitive electronics
This is the most iconic episode ever, Red been three solo albums deep and still not worried to get his house jacked. Oh, that Eddy Mitchell vinyl…
4 solo + 1 with Mef + 1 with Def Squad at the time.

2022..and still is the best episode of MTV Cribs ever!😂🍻🍺
he can easily afford a big ass house but he said his financial advisor and a friend told him to live like this and its prob best advice anyone can give
George Flores he said it makes him feel like he can still move up in life. Very wise.
@G M Red still has that house
@G M I think he meant for training because Joshua stays in a shitty apartment while he trains for a fight but he still has his mansion for when hes not in camp

This one always stuck with me. Classic! And its 2024, he's still making albums, doing what he loves.
Out of everyone this was the most memorable. Probably because it was authentic
In 2001, that "thin" Sharp TV that Redman showed off was actually super new at the time. Very few people had one.
Yup. Those tv's were the new line of Tv's. Alot of company's during that time put out those "New age" shit. Once u hooked ur cable box up to it, the TV actually downloaded the TV-guide onto it with the network logos and everything. 😂. Not to mention, the speakers were loud as shit and u could fix the bass and treble on em. Yea, I was 18 at the time and those tv's were a big deal, cause also the PS2 was out, so u needed those new tv's for the new system. 😂😂
