Redman is a GOAT emcee. One of the illest lyricists ever. Never gets the respect he deserves. This episode was so important. Epitome of why I gave up my pursuit many decades ago. Fortune from music is like 5% talent and 95% luck. I knew a lot of incredible rappers that never ‘made it big’. The only MTV cribs I'd always remember. This shit was so left field. All I can remember is thinking I needed to listen to more Redman to get this dude fed but now I realize that this man humbled himself and he didn't let the fame forget where he came from so now I have mad respect for RM
Definitely the best episode of Cribs. He wasn't hurting at all, How High came out this same year. Dude is just a humble guy that doesn't need to be flashy for people to be interested in him, he lets his skills do that.

Yea. I would say more then half of this show was fake. Rented houses and cars. A lot of it surfaced with YT. The only other one i believed was llyod banks. He was in a condo and it was upscale and 2 or 3 nice cars but he looked comfy. A lot of the episodes you can tell they dont own the stuff by how they interact with it.

In 2001, that "thin" Sharp TV that Redman showed off was actually super new at the time. Very few people had one.
In Sopranos they had one in their kitchen lol. That show was ahead of it's time/luxury of being a late 90s family. Vintage 2000s tech and yes very expensive but useless. There's a reason why game shows like on Nickelodeon and MTV would be a luxury to give some away. Useless like a Ipod though, there were cheaper and better stuff. It's like when everyone rush to get a Ipods instead of a MP3 player. It's funny to see the Dreamcast in here. Classic high tech gaming system. Funny to remember the whole PS1 vs Dreamcast thing as a kid. Luckily my brother conned me into voting to get the Dreamcast since he was a Sega lover. Late 90s-early 2000s was a grind for lower middle class families.
Yup. Those tv's were the new line of Tv's. Alot of company's during that time put out those "New age" shit. Once u hooked ur cable box up to it, the TV actually downloaded the TV-guide onto it with the network logos and everything. 😂. Not to mention, the speakers were loud as shit and u could fix the bass and treble on em. Yea, I was 18 at the time and those tv's were a big deal, cause also the PS2 was out, so u needed those new tv's for the new system. 😂😂

This was always my favorite episode cause DOC don't fake the funk. His lifestyle created who is and the music he makes staying loyal to that is the reason he has so many songs and albums. Hands down one of the best lyricists of all time. Hilarious too obviously. He's classic and with Method Man the best duo ever in my mind. Mad respect🙏
