Ive found since switching, Dual wield trumps 2H hands down with greater concentrated and channelers ring. Has been an absolute game changer for me. Allows to AFK certain bosses with higher DPS output (e.g, The Magister and Helwyr is around 1m kills.)

Gconc is broken. Very annoying, it's fine that dual wield excel's at higher damage output but to hand needs a niche as well, but that's a problem. More damage triumphs everything so that definitely needs some balance work, although I do feel like greater sonic wave is in the future. Two-handed magic is literally dog shit compared to the dual wield not even close

Protox i have a mayor question why is it that in guides they tell us to place aftershock4 on the off hand? When you could place it in the main hand and not worry of loosing stacks when you wield a shield for defensives. Anyway when you use a shield it is only for resonance,reflect or barricade and then back to the off hand.
You want precise 6 on your main hand because all your accuracy comes from your main hand in dw. Most people get around losing stacks by combining precise 6 with aftershock 1 though
It depends largely on what weapon we are talking about. P6AS1 + AS4e2 is the best in slot perk combination for dual wield, used by many players because it allows you to keep your aftershock stacks with both off-hand and main-hand switches. It's also obviously, incredible damage. AS4 Provides 4 times the amount of damage that aftershock 1 gives. Off-hands are more favorable for switches like flanking as you want the benefit of precise 6 on your main-hand.
Can you show me a nice dual wield range bar? Or maybe do recommended revo bar setup video? Just bought asc Xbow and setting up revo bars has always confused me

I don't get why there isn't a greater sonic wave to balance the two mage styles out.... They should not be expecting every player to switch between a wand and orb and staff every ability.
You can see your accuracy value in your stats window under Hero, but your actual % hit chance has to be calculated on a per target basis as it is dependant on the enemy's afinity, the wiki tends to have a calculator for those where you can put each piece of your equipment and your levels and it calculates it for you.
Let's say I'm using t50 gear at ascension creatures. Fragmented Bolts vs arrows. My understanding is, more dps with dual wield, but 2h is great for large crowds, yeah? Does that mean I should use dual wield at the legions, but for all the other lower level monsters, I want the 2h?
One thing most people don’t know about needle strike is if you use a snapshot after a needle strike it will increase the damage of both hits and it is the same for greater ricochet including the added hits from the caroming perk. But for rapid fire, needle strike will only increase the damage of the first hit and not the rest. It is a dps loss to use needle strike before a rapid fire.
I always found the greater dazing shot and salt the wound interesting, but are they really useful? I used to camp noxious bow and I had those abilities, but never really understood or used salt the wound. I feel like I missed out, especially since I won't ever camp 2h bow ever again probably haha
Even with splintering arrows the effect is mediocre. It pales in comparison to bakriminel bolts. Perhaps at a new boss, but when tested at raids (with someone focused on stacking) the effect of rangers salt the wound wasn't noticeable.
Recently found a used for my 2H at HM Zuk, due to the wave challenge being all bout positioning, the extra 2 range of a 2H is very important when pot shotting enemies in order to avoid getting hit by 2 different styles, unfortunately sold my Nox bow months ago but it felt nice to use my forgotten Royal Crossbow again.
They're placeholders while we wait for the Greater Needle Strike Ability Codex to drop, hopefully we'll get info about it when the new EGWD Boss gets released.
@@Kranon I'm just disappointed that the potential new range upgrade is coming from the final boss of GWD3, I mean if we go by the previous GWD the final boss is suppose to be 2 steps up of the regular bosses and the "regular" GWD3 bosses are already some of the hardest bosses in the game, so either the last boss is going to be so difficult that really only the top PVMers can do it (leading to a ridiculous price of a potential new range gear) or worst, its going to be a group only boss.
2:24 that is a bug, if and only of the ability after greater concentration blast lands on the fourth tick. So it's actually better to be slow or let Revo do if for you.
Another important factor for dual mage, is double rune costs. Typically you will use 2x as many runes from what ive seen. So i can spend a week at bosses without needed to resupply with 2h, cant with dual
Unless you're auto attacking it shouldn't be too drastic, Gconc will use more runes but not an astronomical amount more. And that's only if you're camping exsanguinate or incite fear and aren't at max stacks
2h is better if you're a casual player and you do not let this game stress you out. I'm stress free because of 2h weps. No need to switchscape and exhaust my hands/fingers and stress my self out.
That's another perk of the Mobile Client, if you do PVM on it, you're basically forced to optimize rotations and make the most out of your gear. Granted, the kill times won't be World Records, but they won't be trash by any means. I think It's a perfect middle ground between casual and sweaty.

Id love to see a "1 bill gear" dps comparison at something like glacor. With the new melee items being rather cheap for T92. Im torn on the style to go with. If you could limit the overall cost of the load out to 1b (not including skill unlocks like G-rico in the cost calculation) and then log kill times for lets say 50 kills using each style.
In the grand scheme of things, not really no. (maybe for specific monster weaknesses at lower levels, but that's it) Since you said scimitars, I assume you're anywhere from lvl 20-70 stats in combat.
I mostly use 2h (Noxious Scythe), my DW main set is a drygore mace and drygore defender. I just can't bother with a shield switch... Maybe if I REALLY need barricade. Trying to get an abyssal scourge to use with the drygore defender now.
Cant wait for t95 2h and dual wield range. Mostly want 2h. Doesnt need to be Meta as in fasoa + cryptbloom but better than t92. Just in dmg is fine no need for more adren build up mechanics.
I wonder if Range is going to get a tank armor like cryptbloom or TMW, I guess onyx bolts is an option but range can feel squishy at times unless Jagex intends Range to be a glass cannon combat style.

Indeed, if the next EGWD Boss comes with a Greater Needle Strike Ability Codex (which i can definitely see happening) that can be used with 2H Crossbow, then these arrows will be dead. If, and only if, there's a T95 Bow that somehow benefits from Bakriminel Bolts effects, i can see the arrows being used a lot more.
I was F2P for such a long time i remember every inch of the map. Back then, we only had a mere Rune Swords and a Wooden Shield, and we had to share the wooden shield. You're lucky dude, F2P nowadays is but a wet dream for those of us who grew in F2P and joined P2P when we became men.

Nevertheless, F2P Combat could benefit from having a good tutorial that people can play over and over again until they learn the basics of a DPS Rotation (then, stronger abilities would just fill in the blanks and people would understand what each does). That said, there's a difficult time reaching for a state of the art tutorial nowadays, the only one i wholeheartedly recommend comes from "Sanshine" (check out his UA-cam channel here). It goes in depth and is the best explanation on how to do combat in RuneScape in this new generation.

Staff of sliske is useless, don't ever buy it. Dual seismics + Greater conc blast is the way to go.

If you camp a defender for pvm, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

In short, you lose out on the stat bonus with hybrid gear. It's better to use style specific gear, even if it's lower tier like gw1 armor
