I just want to take a minute to write this comment. I am so happy I found this channel, and here is everything I love about it: - I can feel so much generosity coming from the host, I have just been watching a video where she is testing 3 types of paints, stencils and sealants on doormats, and commits to updating everyone on how they resist over time. Which really shows how she goes the extra mile to actually inform people. Also the way she obviously thinks about everyone that might be watching while teaching, which takes me to my second point - The channel has so much quality content, and it’s made so easy that you never get lost, everything is well explained - Sooooo many inspirations !!! The creativity is amazing in here ! - She has such a soothing voice. I’m here up at night, editing photos, and she has such a soothing effect on me that I’m just playing it in the background. I am planning a live butterfly release for my mothers memorial next week and I am SO excited to have found this video so I can have a few paper butterflies to share with the kids who will be attending the butterfly release. Thank you Jennifer!!!
Seeing this post has given me some excellent ideas for a reading corner in my mothers' library. I think the kids would really love to see these butterflies.
I love Monarch butterflies. They fly all the way from Michoacán in Mexico to Canada. Visiting their sanctuary is an amazing experience. Thanks for this project 🤩🦋
Just in case you are interested, butterflies aren't in fact bugs. True bugs are a very specific group of insects also referred to as hemiptera including things like cicadas and shield bugs. These insects go through incomplete metamorphosis as they grow, meaning that they hatch looking like little versions of the adults though often with undeveloped wings and different markings. Butterflies come from a separate group of insects called lepidoptera. This translates loosely as "scaled wing" refering to the tiny, beautiful scales on butterfly and moth wings that gives them their gorgeous colours and patterns. the scales often start to rub off as they age so old moths and butterflies tend to look a bit bedraggled. Lepidoptera go through complete metamorphosis as they grow meaning that once they hatch from their eggs they go through a larval stage (caterpillar) then a pupa stage (chrysalis) where they basically completely reform their bodies so that they can emerge as adults "butterflies".
We do have a tutorial on a journal, Tavara!
