    In USA, the Seller's responsibility really is only to get everything the buyer paid for shipped to the buyer in new working order .It's always best to find a dealer with a verifiable address with a good reputation of giving service after the sale, however...
    At the very least It is the Buyer's responsibility to find out exactly who the selling dealer is that he is planning to purchase from, and whether or not all the units they sell will have serial numbers that are in the authorized dealer regional database (not just car software and language for your region) so you will be able to expect technical support from Autel support of your own country, and if it needs to be sent in for warranty repairs, it won't have to be shipped out of the country to Autel in Mainland China . Support from Autel in China probably seems non existent because of the time zone and being middle of the night there if you call during day in North America.

      I just wanted to share some of my personal experience on this topic just to give some clarity to anyone who is confused . There are 3 challenges and end consumer has when buying a diagnostic tool...
      1 Which tool to purchase
      2. Where to purchase from
      3.What Can The Seller Do For Me After The Sale.
      Lets focus on number 1. Which tool to purchase. If the Sellers are motivated only focused on sending you a tool you paid for... Do you think they really have your best interest if you ask them advice on which tool is right for you.
      Let me give you an example: Have you ever been in a store and a sales rep starts to upsell you on stuff you dont need or want with out even asking you about the problem you are having? This is what I feel these online platforms are doing. And for some people they end up buying the wrong tool becuase the seller wants to make a sale. ( I dont sell anyone a tool untill we set up a consultation. Most of the time the tool they had in mind was not a good match based on the needs they shared with me)
      This brings me to #2 Where to purchase from.
      Yes on the surface you can ask the typical questions " Is this a USA unit. Are you an autherized dealer" In my opinion this are not the best qualifying questions because I know sellers who meet these criteria and still screw over the customer ( Giving them a registered unit , or giving telling them a unit does everything when in reality it doesnt etc) ... Most of the sellers you are really motiivated by sales.. This is ok if you just wanted to be sold but if you want to be served this is not the best route. The support for the general public is a huge challenge . It is improving but there is no way 1 support center can handle all of America. And as I stated before there are different levels of support. Some people require client support which allows them to do more complex task. Some people just need basic support for hardware issues. The problem is most people only find what type of support thats available after they purchase the tool and in some cases the customers doesnt have the best experience. ( There is alot of sh*t that goes on in the background that the public doesnt know about)
      Which brings me to my last point #3 " What can the seller do for me after the sale" I believe that who ever sells you the tool should be responsible for your well being. The online platforms outsource most their support to AUTEL US. Most people dont see this as a problem but what I can tell you is that a cusotmer who calls and can be identified by name will have a different experience from a customer who is identifed by a serial number thats on the back of your machine.
      For example:
      When my client calls me.. I know everything about them. First and last name. Address, which tool they have, their team viewer ID, Which industry they are from, etc. Yes I have a system that pulls this information up but I actually have a relationship with my client so they will be treated like "buddy" . Versus some random person calling for tech support with a rep they dont know. The rep probably delt with several other customers who he doesnt know and might not care because your just a "serial number" in his eyes. He may or may not ever hear from you again.
      My point is ... Its extemely difficult for the average consumer to obtain accurate information in order to make an educated purchasing decision. Most people who choose to take the online route will experience costly "lessons" that they will learn from which could have been avoided if they had a proper consultation..which online platforms dont provide.

      Regarding the repairs.. Autel USA will send Hardware repairs to Autel China. The engineers are based in china so they will actually be able to give more technical insight on the tools capability since they created they tool. I know this because I deal with both Autel USA and Autel China. I have better success getting my clients data loggings and technical questions answered by dealing with the source.

    Online purchasing is the way of the future for tools. Autel needs to get it's act together and tighten up on what is sold on Amazon and who can sell it.All tool manufacturers need to get with the game plan and dump the middle men and start developing good functional online help be it free or subscription. I'm tired of paying for middle men who jack up the price and are not really required in the loop. How much do you add to the price of the unit to do what you do? It's the elephant in the room and someones needs to bring up the question.

      Hi Howard. This increasing trend is not helping the client in my opinion due to the fact that the amount of tools being sold is overwelming for 1 tech support hotline to handle. Also many clients recieve the wrong information from sellers who just want their business or they end up buying the wrong version of the tool. Regarding the "middle" man .. Autel needs them as they have the biggest distribution in terms of potential customers.( Pep Boys , Autozone etc) With out them they would be lossing alot of profit potential. The issue my clients reported to me about these retailers who offer the tools is that they dont know anything about the tool so there hurts the client as well. I personally wouldnt give anyone authority to sell the tool unless they can add value to the customer in terms of helping them make money with the tool. If they cant do that then I have a problem with that.

      My pricing is extremely high by the way because im not just sellling a tool... Im selling transformational results to my clients.

      Hey Daniel, Not yet.. I get clients who watch this video and take their tool back all the time. They have a good policy on returns and I probably know the seller. Its a choice my friend but you have a short window to take action. Hope this helps

      I only would consider amazon if your prepaired to have no service and want to have a higher cost of ownership. The only advance of amazon in my opinion is lower price and quick delivery. They dont do well in training of the tool and solve problems with it

    I have a simple question that i haven't see covered anywhere, what is the exact sequence from start to finish to connect a scanner, diagnose, then disconnect the scanner?
    I connect Autel to obd/dlc socket-power up my autel-then turn on vehicle ignition-then diagnose-then turn off vehicle-then turn off Autel-then disconnect from obd/dlc socket. Is this ok? Thanks.

      This seems fine. You dont need to over think this as long you dont forget to collect the VCI after you scan your clients Vehicle.

    Have you been able to get Mitchell to work on the Maxisys Elite? I just can't get it to work. It was purchased in March 2021.

    I am purchasing a Chinese version of the Maxisys Elite that is stuck on the Maxisys logo and the previous owner did not create a back up file for this tool. I've purchased it for a very reasonable price as the J2534 pass-through device and connectors are included and functional. I'm curious as to whether of not it would be possible to purchase a US subscription for a Chinese version and have this device repaired in US.?

      Hi Briandon. You can purchase the subscription from a US or International seller.. But you still will only be able to get your tool repaird through the seller your purchased from unfortunetly.

    AUTEL is an unethical company that takes advantage of its consumers. I acquired a maxisys pro in 2015 and had no reason to upgrade its software because it was compatible with all of my vehicles. A free update released an application that works like ransomware and installs a timer that prevents you from accessing the diagnostic part of the tool. Now, all I get is a “Software is not authorized!” message when I try to use the diagnostic part of my tool The only available option is to purchase an upgrade from Autel for $1400.00. Product knotting is illegal in the United States, and this corporation should be severely punished for what they're doing to their customers in order to create cash flow due to the recent lawsuit Autel settled.

    I have maxisys elite that was updated and stays on logo screen now. I bought it like this for cheap cheap from a boss who we use to use in the shop until this happened. Is there a way to have this fixed or just download the freaken OS repair on it. I don't care if its updated I just want it to work again.

      HI Marlen. Its very difficult for an average consumer to decipher who is a USA seller or an international seller. Most of the time people only find out after the purchased. So what I recomend ot you if your really want to purchase from amazon is call Autel New York and see if they have anyone suppliers the recommend. If not they will send you a pdf of different retailers to purchase. Your other option is you can book a consult with me and I can educate whom you can purchase from. Or you can just purchase through me so you dont have stress about if the tool is legit or not. Hope this helps.

    Hey Curtis,
    I'm wanting to know how I can set an appointment with you for a consultation on the autel products. I'm a Ford certified technician here in Texas, that works regularly with Ford line IDS and FDRS software and the VCMM and VCMII hardware for programming. Now based on being a technician you know we purchase our scanners and tools through trucks like cornwell, matco, snapon etc... Due to the high cost of tools, but However I want to enlist your services on selecting a scan tool for my needs and making sure an autel diagnostic scanner is right for me. For other vehicle lines. I have worked with the 908s and I own a mx808 for simple scan reading so I do understand autels abilities and limitations. But I would like to get an expertise knowledge on being able to use the tool properly such as we get trained by Ford STARS classes and instructors. I don't want to take too much of your time but would be very interested in scheduling a consultation appointment with you.

    Is autel providing android updates as well? Or is it stuck on kit-kat?Also, what happens when the battery in the tablet starts going bad? Can it be replaced? or is it non-removable?

      HI Faulcun. No updates on the android system unfortunetly. Regarding the battery it depends. If you have a USA unit then you need to purchase a subscription / update then they will replace your battery but you have to send your unit in for repair. If you are my client I can organize one seperately. I am thinking about offering these batteries to the public but its going to be a logistic issue because some shipping companies dont allow litheum batteries to be sent.

    Every Autel is built in China. Autel holds no assets in the United States and this is how they have avoided multiple lawsuits from oem companies that claim their software has been copied. So the country of origin is always China. The seller however changes dependent upon distribution. The US company is home based here in NY and is run by someone who originally sold the tool from his trunk of his car while working for Autologic. His claim to fame as an executive officer changed nothing at all about his sales techniques either. The support team here is poorly run, and I have already witnessed several warranty claims that were honored, but had verbiage stating the tool had been tampered with, oddly each statement was a carbon copy of one another.

      Actually Autel USA and Autel Intelligent Technologies(Autel China) has multiple lawsuits against them and Gary Deluca, the CEO of Autel USA. Autel USA, a New York Corporation, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Autel China. General Motors LLC & General Motors Global, Ford Motor Company and Bosch Service Solutions all have lawsuits against Autel. Hacking and stealing intellectual property etc. Gary Deluca allegedly opened 7 subscription accounts to AC Delco in his name and transferred the log-in info to people in China (aka Autel China employees) who allegedly stole GM calibration info. Google Gary Deluca / Autel lawsuits. It's pretty interesting.

      Dont think that is correct. I had some issues coding on a Mercedes and called Autel support and they were in New York. They were very helpful and remote connected to my 908 elite.

      @@edwardthayer9386 Joe has a Video of him talking about his MS908s power button breaking. He called Autel and asked if he could pay for the repair. They said since his tool was out of warranty he must pay the 700 USD update fee in order to get little button replaced. I made a video educating my audience how my clients dont have to experience this since when I represent them since I am able to get tools repaired even if they are out of warranty. I still have the video but he kindly asked me to take it down. If you want to see just let me know

    I am considering buying the maxisys elite with J-box. On the Cornwell truck they are only 100$ more than amazon, and presumably US supported. The one advantage i would have over most other purchasers is that the Cornwell guy in my area used to be the "local" programmer, meaning he would go shop to shop with his maxisys elite and do reflashes. This is not his claim, he has done reflashes and such for our shop several times. So i know he would help as he is also a friend of the business and employees. This is a rarity in the tool truck business. It is as ideal a situation as i can imagine. He is also quite honest as to what the tool can and cannot do as an experienced user and operator. I am quite interested.

    Autel is not clear on their website for information on the actual tools, hence the nonsense seen on both eBay and Amazon.

      Thats exactly why I have the diagnostic tool consultation. You should hear the call I recieve from people who got screwed over. Those platforms in my opinion are just focused on transactions. Not results for the clients
