    Got these for everyday winter boots and snow hiking as well. Love everything about them. Traction is unmatched in every terrain! Extremely water resistant even during long days in the snow. Feet are very comfortable down to 25 F so far, haven't worn them in colder temps yet. The leather upper is very comfortable. 10/10

    I chose this boot, too, had them about 7 mos and love 'em more every time I use 'em. We had some good snow, slush, and icy stuff to try them out in recently and they were great. Just before the winter, I treated them with Sno-Seal -- a great natural beeswax product I've used for years, if you want a recommendation ;~)
    Mine came with the regular insoles, but I do know Vivo also makes a thermal insole that would give a bit more insulation.
    As for grip on solid ice, we had a freezing rain that turned compacted snow on the road into a 3 or 4cm layer of ice. I tried the boots out with some 'Wintertrax' stretch-on ice grips and was pretty impressed; I could not make myself slide. So I can recommend those, too.
    Yours is the first review I've seen that shares this kind of 'everyday' use in wintery conditions. Very valuable and well-done, thank you!

      Thanks! Yea totally agree with you as well. The recommendation for the beeswax is helpful.

    Interesting what you observed about the sizing. I tried these on recently when travelling in Denmark (alongside the Magna Forest ESC) and I had to UPSIZE one full size (compared to my Primus trail II all weather FG) to fit comfortably. I initially bought the Magnas but had to return them as I had similar issues as you with the leather strap that wraps around the ankle digging into and rubbing on my ankle bone. I’m now waiting for availability (in Australia these are always sold out for some reason) and a good deal on the Forest Trackers.
    Good review, thank you so much!

    Thanks for your video, very informative. No matter how much I searched for information, you are the only one who described them in such detail from the point of view of use in a snowy winter. Can you please share your experience, has your opinion changed in any way since the video about these boots was released? What temperatures have you used them at most? What is the condition of this skin now? A Vivoberfoot representative told me that these shoes are not intended for cold and snowy winters, so your experience is very important to me. I would be grateful for your answer.

    Bought mine for the same reason and was my first Vivo. Did not downsize and looking back that probably would have helped. Here in Minnesota I found them not warm enough and ended up putting in a sheepskin insole. Major difference for me in terms of warmth and fit (probably should've sized down). I ended up getting the Renapur balm. Very happy with the boot and looking forward to more Vivos.

    I bought the same boots for winter as well. They are my first barefoot boot and are extremely comfortable. When I bought the boot, I was told that these are not for winter, but specifically designed for hiking instead. The winter alternative would be the tracker all weather SG I believe which is made for snowy cold weather. I agree with everything you said about the grip, it's unreal. I tried them without socks once and they got pretty swampy but ymmv. The fit is perfect for me as I have a wide forefoot and it fits like a glove. To keep like new, I use a wet cloth or paper towel and use a leather moisturizer right after, works very well. This boot is my daily driver and I recommend it to anyone. It's pricy at under $500 but with care should last longer than other shoes(including the extremely durable sole).

      Yea totally agree. I tried out the tracker all weather SG but found it much tighter on the width of my feet. That's why I went with the Forest Tracker instead

    7:25 Vivo has some a couple other options with Michelin soles, namely the Magna Forest Esc hiking shoes and the Hydra Esc swimrun trainers. Other than that, Xero's Scrambler Mid boots also use Michelin soles, and they are super comfy and breathable.
    I think Xero's Scramblers for summer and Vivo's Forest Tracker Esc for winter makes a killer combo.

    Awesome review brother I actually just picked up a pair today. I was in between sizing and I went with a smaller size. Can I ask you if the leather on your pair opened up as I would think they would??? I didn’t want them to be too big and then get even larger overtime! They’re literally with me in the car right now, so I haven’t had a chance to wear them! Just like you said you felt like you had extra room. I tried on the normal tracker too, and had to size up for that one because it wasn’t that smooth leather

    I have a 48 in Tracker FG 2 and a 47 in Primus lite 3. Vivos sizing is kinda all over the place. Thoughts on this one? Thanks!

    Have no idea how you guys can wear the Forest ESC in the winter. I'm in Canada and I wasnt able to get the thermal red insole for the ESC. I have the Tracker with the Thermal and both are impossible to wear during the winter as the cold comes up through the sole. I was successful with the Xero Alpine but it's not as wide as the ESC. I did however wear the ESC all summer at my kid's motocross track and wss my go-to for long camping sessions at the track with zero trench foot. I'm considering the new Vivo winter boot.

    Thoughts on the tracker esc vs the magna esc for the same purpose?

    • @WillFaulkner
      @WillFaulkner  Рік тому +2

      My only concern would be the heigh of the boot when walking through deep snow. Other than that, it should fit the same purpose assuming the fit is the same.

    Are they wp if not wtf type of winter ate you having. I cant be trendy I do this shit for living.

    • @WillFaulkner
      @WillFaulkner  Рік тому +1

      Vivo does not advertise them as water proof. So if you walk through a stream you could get wet. I have walked through snow for several hours and not gotten wet. If you are doing it for a living, I would probably get a different boot.

      Its a hiking boot(not made for winter) although I'm using it in winter just fine. The Tracker all weather SG is the winter specific one

      They will keep water out for around 1 hour but I will be testing them with SNO SEAL and they should be good to go.

      Where do you see them for that price? Right now on the website the Forest Trackers are £220 or $280 U.S.
