@@KatKevaKelise That sounded a bit strange..Do you really feel better to see abuse ore was it some kind of joke..? If your life is abusive maybe it's better to have someone to talk with that have similar experiences to feel that you are not alone..? We could just turn on the news to see other people in pain if that could make it easier in some way -horror movies usually portrait fiction while real life can be so much worse for many people.. So I hope if your comment are genuine that you rather find someone to talk with.. Just my thoughts of experince.. Not from abuse but anyway -Life can have many difficulties so we can relate to one another -no one should tolerate abuse so irigf you're comment have some truth to it I hope you contact someone to help you out of the situation..✌

No working electrical line? No running hot water? No shower? No cell service? Horrible kitchen? Tenant next door? NO THANK YOU. Even if the devil was giving it away for free🤣in fact, it’s the lack of basic necessities in the house that’s the scariest part of this movie 😂

And the acting was great to each is own I really thought it was a great movie I did watch it twice just to make sure 😁 I did not skip anything. Very, very good movie but the best one's are usually independent films. Maggie and Chris acted very well as did the rest of the cast. Very impressive. It seems mental illness can make one see and do many things. Thanks so much for this pleasure of a movie. A fan from NYC. ❤❤ Nothing is more irritating than those who insist on asking who came to read the comments first.

Ok, two come to mind. 1. what is the meaning of the ringing phone? Does it have a meaning or was that just a radnom thing she imagined? 2. The meaning of the guy constantly sneezing in the beginning? (got to me as I am a germophob.... but maybe it's those flowers, allergy? Or also just a rodnom thing? So much for now,

IF you hear Sound low go and install by. search volume Booster extension for chrome and install and activate. If you don't no to activate just do this open google chrome go to right hand top corner below the close mark X click setting and go to more tools and select extensions and there you can see the installed Volume Booster icon and just click the slider with it whish will turn to blue that's it. Now got to URL tab right end and you can see the Volume Booster Icon just click and raise and lower the sound while using you tube videos. It works on every video application that are being viewed by google chrome browser. I think this will help you guys. thank you.

Then i dont.think id ever leave
Im semi rural at present & a total newbie to internet
I wouldnt miss mod cons, certainly not phone & internet
Id be very happy just me being there
Im never lonely, love to potter about, ive stacks of past times
      No car, i cycle everywhere
No tv, not had television for the past 15yrs
      Love my radio
      My books, art materials, craftwork
A house totally off grid is my idea of bliss

Alexander Graham Bell was however a pretty clever guy although his amazing invention which allowed people immediate communication which must have helped peoples lives so much especially in emergancy situations compared to lets say a carrier pigeon🙂however it would be to his amazement and probably chagrin to see (if he were to come back from the dead ) i phones in action and the disturbing compulsive addictive usage of them which has completely changed his idea of being able to access direct communication alone to mundane surfing on Facebook etc and sitting in restaurants with a freind but staring at the phone or nearly getting run over due to the incessant staring at the phone......ironic in a kinda sad way and it is thought provoking concerning the subject regarding the progress of civilisation for me anyway

I was hoping with 1.6M view this would be a decent movie, but after 40 minutes I'm wondering why I wasted 40 minutes on a very derivative haunted house story.

Did anyone notice the horseshoe on the mantelpiece @8:47 was turned upside down @1:16:39.
A horseshoe placed like a U catches good luck ,upside down it empties luck.

It's the arrangement of the iron nails that's the important thing... the upside down triangle ..two at the top and one on the bottom is the thing that prevents bad luck and evil...the nails by themselves in the correct configuration are sufficient.

      @@AnneAndersonFoxiepaws Thanks,that interesting.
It makes me wonder what nails arranged in a six pointed star configuration (hexagram) can do .Would it be balanced energy or something entirely different?

    • @libbyreesbarresi7459
      @libbyreesbarresi7459 5 років тому +6

i noticed that straight away....but did you realise there are different theories on how to place the horse shoe:
Fishermen from Katwijk (Holland) sometimes hang it on one of the poles under the boom, upside down, so the luck would befall the fishing nets. ... In the US the horseshoe is usually hung with the points upward.
I then found this interesting article and the only mention to the nails was the fact they use 7 nails and in ancient times 7 was considered a lucky number (still is in some parts).
There are two schools of thought on this matter. Some people say you should hang the horseshoe with the ends - the heels - pointing up so the good luck it brings won't drain out.
Others say the heels should be pointing down so the good luck falls on anybody passing through the doorway.
The interesting bit is the origin of the horseshoe superstition.
One story has it that the devil went to a blacksmith to get his hooves shod. So the smith shaped the horseshoes and nailed them - red hot - into Satan's hooves.
The devil went on his way, but soon the hot horseshoes and nails caused him such agony that he tore them off and never went near a horseshoe again.
Another idea is that horseshoes are lucky because they are made by blacksmiths, who were considered to be lucky in the old days. That was because they worked with fire - one of the basic elements - and iron, which was believed to possess magic because it was stronger than other metals and could survive a fire.
Blacksmiths were so lucky, the ancients believed, that they could heal the sick.
And horseshoes were nailed on with seven nails, and seven was a lucky number in many ancient cultures.
So hang your horseshoe any old way you want, and I hope it brings you good luck.
Another article is at this link which sort of says the same thing but also adds an interesting bit about the horse shoes being nailed to witches coffins and that stops them from returning.

    gonna rant about spoilers.
i could not hear anything most of the time. what did she lose that she was all freaking out over and looking for? and what was the significance of the freaking telephone noise?? what was the point of the neighbors? how did she guess what they really did look like without ever seeing them? why did she imagine him dying if he'd already been dead for days? why did she stop pretending he was alive but continue laying in bed with him? why did she pretend he was alive just to pretend he was abusing her and imagine scenarios where she hated him? why was her reaction to seeing him dead just "there's no mattress" ??? not that it matters because the ending makes the entire thing completely pointless. all the way through it i kept thinking 'um, the music is dramatic, but nothing is happening...' then ending: literally NOTHING actually happened. nothing matters because none of it happened! oi... :/
i like the concept the twist was going for but... the rest of the story before the twist happens needs to have some kind of point and a resolution. nothing was resolved in this. there was no character arc or growth. she goes nuts at the end, but she'd already been nuts all along. she realizes she's nuts, but then goes back to the illusion. there was no reason/point to anything that happened. it doesn't make any sense. it should have been like, events escalate and she finally solves the mystery, realizing he's been dead for days and she's been denying it and she finally gets to a point where she has to face/accept/realize the truth, and then have that lead to something that matters so even tho this stuff didn't happen, it still has an effect on the main character and causes a change in her, like it leads to her finding peace as she accepts everything, or she kills herself so she can be with him, or something other than just 'oh, i get it, she's nuts.' we knew she was nuts when she was hearing things that clearly weren't there, like the trees falling in the woods, so even this revelation was pointless except that it cleared up the 'ok there definitely is no ghost/demon or alternate dimension' question. oi! :/

Drinking ruins people. A man hits me, it's only going to be once. He won't get another chance. This is an excellent example of gaslighting at it's finest. With an abusive husband beating his pregnant wife until she miscarries, and then promising over and over again that this isn't like how it used to be, even as he blacks her eye. And the other poor woman...a harsh reality for so many battered women that they're absolutely aware that eventually their spouse is going to end their life.

This is a very sad touching movie.. i almost cried at the end. She really lost it after the misscarriage, and just wen she thought she could start over, her husband died. Thats wen she became crazy all alone in the middle of nowhere, no friends or neighbours, a truck with a flat tyre (no transport nowhere to go), no charger to recharge her fon, no connections to anybody AT ALL... She didnt meet the neighbours but probably knew how they looked after she breaks in and saw their pics in the frames...
All i can say as conclusion, there is nothing to blame here but the alcohol. If the husband didnt drink, he wouldnt hit her until she got a misscarriage, and drank again until he took his own life.. i feel so sorry for the wife. She didnt deserve this.
