I currently have a banana tree that is growing exponentially, it's still small but I already have to think about redecorating when it will be on the floor. But I have a few others who will eventually be on the floor as well one day. I just have to accept the limits of my place and my back.

This is a funny video! And that is one gorgeous plant that will also serve as a bed sheet on cold nights. LOL I had wanted a Gloriosum for a while until I saw the growth pattern. Not sure how to pot it once it starts creeping. Now I am more mindful of plant sizes and am only buying small ones that don't get that big. But I was thinking maybe you could plant a smaller plant in with that big one. Combine 2 plants in that same space. Just a thought. But seriously, go get that plant dolly! LOL

I had one of those moments."Monster" My Philodendron selleom was 18? years old and I suddenly almost lost it for unknown reasons.It was outside and suddenly started to decline.Smelled like cat eurine so we think our outside cat was using it to mark territory. Anyway, saved some offshoots of which one grew and in 2 years I had a chair sized plant again. It was like a piece of furniture that had its own spot in the room.Last year we got a puppy who at about a year old decided one day that my outdoor plants were the enemy. She tried to kill Monster just like a rabbit. When I found it , no soil ,leaves chewed, roots all but gone, and the main stem literaly crushed. I cried because there are so many memories around that plant. Miracles of miracles it lived!
Wow. I would have been soooooo upset. I am so glad you were able to save it though. I would have gone to replace it immediately. I love my monstera soooo much. Dogs seem to get along with plants better. I am secretly afraid of cats lol
I've been thinking about this! I'm limited by where the light falls in my home, and I think I want to see a couple of my larger plants put on a year or two more growth before I even consider buying the next one that's going to sprawl. I'd rather think ahead now.

Now that is a nice size leaf! I enjoy seeing plants grow like this and this is why I need a nice backyard so that I can bring them outdoors and live like they are suppose to with that natural light and wind blowing through their stems lol. Your plant looks amazing!
I think that plant is amazing. I would have to build him his own table or something. I have a lot of really large plants that I have been growing for many years and I tend to arrange the furniture according to the plants. My husband and son bitch about it but they have learned to live with my obsession with plants because they know that I will never tire of plants since I have been growing them all my life. You will love plant dollys because it is nice to push the plant around instead of picking it up. They are pretty cheap at Menards if you have one in your area.
Hahaha that’s really funny. I moved a couple things too but it wasn’t just for my plants. At least your family is learning to live with it lol that might be hard to find people who understand or will put up with people like us lol
Rooting Mindfully I am puzzled about the difference between pastanazum and McDowell, I have 2 smaller ones that I got from NSE Tropicals and they look just like this plant. I put both of mine in the grow tent to see if they get this big. I can put them in front of the TV and see if my husband loves them as much as I do.

I had a bit of an oh shit moment this summer when my alocasia regal shield, which was once on an end table, put out two new GIANT leaves. Twice the size of the old leaves. It became a floor plant once I realized I couldn’t sit on the couch without getting a leaf to the face haha

I have 4 Aroid Gigantus Birdnest plants. I have gotten rid of some of my furniture to accommodate them That McDowell is AMAZING!! Please, don't give it away. Get rid of a piece of furniture to have more room plus you did purchased BIGGUM plants. Thank you

Love seeing your plants in the background, but I really loved seeing your little 4-legged baby stick her face in for a close-up. The "Biggum" problem I had was down-sizing from a 10-room house to a 2-bedroom condo. Had to give away all of my large plants. So now, nothing over 12 inches tall (oops, sorry ZZ's, or should I say ZZ-trees.) They HAD to be factored into my living arrangements. Thanks for a great video, I'm a new subbie now.

Same. In winter I have to fit 45 plants into my living room because I sleep with open windows. Means, buying shelves, growing lights, humidifier. My living room looks like a botanical garden right now🙈
Holyfox Sounds like a good look!! But yeah, it can be a hassle! I have turned a spare bedroom into a plantroom. It has a large window and I can buy more plants or bring plants into that room to overwinter. Great content! I have an Alocasia regal shield which I bought as a plug spring 2019. It is now over 4ft! I bought the half circle plant rings in an effort to contain its girth. I tend to buy small plants but I might have to buy them their own house soon!
But you vou can also control the size by keeping in a 10-12" pot. They cab literally keep them in those pots for years and years. But you will propagate and cut accordingly.
I designed my plant space keeping in mind that they'll get bigger. Especially since most are Vining or climbing varieties. Most will be in wall pots, with grow lights above them.

HAHAHA. For the creapers you need pots that are wider at the top to give more room for them to crawl and you won't have to pot up as often.

Usually bigger plants are worth more to sell but it also depends on the type of plant
