If I get ten SEPARATE (no alt accounts or repeats) replies to this comment, expressing your love for Puffmin. I’ll make an hour long video essay on the type I forgot.
I've thought about putting Puffmin on the list at first. Technically speaking they are the only bad type. But I felt like that would just be a filler segment and a complete "well duh" moment for being at the bottom. Besides, when has the puffstool ever lasted long enough for anyone to see Puffmin at all? XD
I honestly wasn't expecting this video to be as positively received as it has. Thank you all so much for liking and viewing my video. You all are amazing! If any of you are interested, I also do videos on other gaming topics, as well as a dedicated series to Super Smash Bros. Please consider checking those out too if you're interested.
I always loved Rock Pikmin for almost any situation that isn't specific to a different Pikmin type. If you have enough of them you can easily just rush an enemy and defeat it in a single blow
Fun fact about blues! According to notes in the piklopedia, most enemies that uses water based attacks like the caustic Dweevil and the Watery Blowhog are actually using a form of Acid! It would be cool if they added acid based attacks in Pikmin 4 and have blue Pikmin be immune to them! given what the notes say!
Blue Pikmin may not be as useful in Pikmin 3 but I do love how Pikmin 3 finally added deep water. It always felt so disappointing seeing Pikmin drown in water that barely reach their heads. Not to mention it's totally awesome seeing blue pikmin actually swim when you charge them at an enemy.
I've thought about putting Puffmin on the list at first. But I felt like that would just be a filler segment and a complete "well duh" moment for being at the bottom. Plus the fact you can't directly control them in my opinion makes them more of an enemy than anything. Besides, when has the puffstool ever lasted long enough for anyone to see Puffmin at all? XD
I think the lack of an ability in Rock Pikmin to latch onto enemies is actually looked into too much. They're actually really broken in combat if you have a decent amount of them. Like with Purple Pikmin, Rock Pikmin are best used when thrown - and boy, do they feel like Purple Pikmin. Their immense impact damage means you can take out a Bulborb in pretty much an instant, especially if you have a few extra Pikmin to finish it off. Plus, their bounce means they actually get out of harm's way. When a Rock Pikmin bounces off an enemy, it can be called almost immediately back to the leader, which means a large enough team can create a near-constant stream of throws and stuns. This isn't possible with any other Pikmin types, as when they're called off an enemy like a Bulborb, at least a couple are guaranteed eaten, therefore requiring extra strategy to get the job done.
Here's my list, also I felt like excluding Bulbmin as well as Puffman because they're not really Pikmin and I feel like they're too oddly specific and situational to really compare them to any other Pikmin. 7. Red Pikmin (They were nice fighters in the 1st game, but fire resistance has always been mostly not needed, Pikmin 2 and beyond made them very overshadowed by Purple and Rock Pikmin, and they're only a little bit stronger than other Pikmin where as others have abilities that make them a lot better than red and Rock + Purple are a lot stronger) 6. Purple Pikmin (Was originally putting them at the bottom since they were OP to the point of Pikmin 2 having almost no challenge against boss/enemy fights, though it's slow when collecting stuff. The 30 times attacks strength combined with 10x lifting really does a number. They were also nerfed in Pikmin 3 to the point of Rock taking the heavy hitter/tank crown) 5. Rock Pikmin (Rock Pikmin rock, literally. They have the same initial striking power of Purple Pikmin, though they cannot latch and regular strikes are just as weak as yellow and Blue Pikmin 4. White Pikmin (Great speed, boss killing sacrifice, and poison resistance, it's just a shame that a lack of an onion prevents them from ranking any higher) 3. Yellow Pikmin (They were okay in the first game, some stuff to collect on top, and walls needed bombs, but they're the boss killers against the final boss specifically via sacrificing yellow carrying bombs. Electricity resistance also really upgrades them in the sequels and were the most mandatory Pikmin in 2) 2. Blue Pikmin (They've always felt like the mandatory Pikmin due to how much important things are needed to grab in the water. And even in Pikmin 3, they also mastered the ability to float in water for faster travel when grabbing stuff, they help 100% the game. And have IMO been the true Jack of all Trades Pikmin since the 1st and continued in the 2nd, and even in the 3rd are helpful for backtracking all the missed stuff. Would have easily been number 1 if not for one Pikmin) 1. Winged Pikmin (They are the ultimate usage for every puzzle, and low attack power doesn't stop them from all their tasks and can still kill all air enemies fast. They also fly over hazards they don't resist and carry stuff over short cuts and can create short cuts left and right. They are the best Pikmin hands down for me)

Red pikmin are pointless. You’ll never actually need them to 100% any of the games. The fire geysers can be destroyed by any type of pikmin and all of the fire enemy’s can be punched to death. If red pikmin didn’t exist the games would all still be 100% completable it would just be slightly more annoying to beat them.
My opinion 8:red pickmin (I just don't see that much unlike and usefulness pickmin 1 tho uses this the best because purple and rock don't exist there) 7:rock (same as the opinion in the video) 6: purple(same as the opinion in the video) 5 yellow (I like how high they are tossed and how only they can pick up bomb rocks but later games the unikeness is gone but they still toss high) 4: bulbmin (same opinion as the video but I like how they are immune to everything more) 3:blue (I like how only they can go into certain areas and how they swim in pick in 3 I also like how useful they are I also like water) 2: winged ( these cute little pickmin fly and I just love how cute they fly there are also the best for caring objects because they take shortcuts that no other pickmin can take they are also great at fighting in the sky but not on land and I think that's neat) 1 white (they dig are fast immune to poison AND the best part is when they die they poison the enemy that ate them and I think that's a cool element to add to the game overall my favorite is white I don't see any downsides to em)
8: Whites. They are immune to the weakest element, and their strengths only work with their death, which you should try to avoid. 7: Yellow. No real strengths, you never really WANT yellows, but you use them because a yellow pikmin shaped lock comes up. The only reason they beat out whites is because they can solo the Titan Dweevil, which is cool, and their role fighting the Emperor Bulblax in 1. 6: Winged Pikmin. Flight is really handy to just ignore a few puzzles... but outside of that, they're just "we have Blue Pikmin at home" most of the time. Then they suck at combat, and highlight the control issues of 3. Bleh. 5: Blue. There are major portions of each game where you simply must use them, and that means that even though they're situational, that situation is common enough to warrant them. 4: Bulbmin. They solve all your problems. They only completely replace Blues, though, so they're not that great. There's a few times that being immune to multiple things really makes a difference. 3: Reds. The gold standard of Pikmin. Fire is almost as niche as poison... except burning enemies exist. If you don't know what to bring, bring them for the attack power. 2: Rock Pikmin. They're not unilaterally better than Reds, and struggle in a few boss battles, but they just obliterate standard enemies, and tons of stuff just can't hurt them. 1: Purples. These guys are stupid in the best possible way. They absolutely maul standard enemies and bosses alike, they can sidestep puzzles, they amplify recovery efforts, and the fact that just 5 or so are enough to kill bosses makes them ideal for clearing challenge stages with no deaths. To put into perspective how nuts they are, you can kill a Fiery Bulblax with them.
The bulbmin are not pikmin there still pikmin and also almost all pikmin have an onion bulbmin are born by there mothers bulbmin and yes purple and white don't have onions but they look like pikmin but technically bulbmin are not pickmin its just a cross breeds not full on pikmin just a cross breed so its not a pickmin
@@terrylease9609 Well they act, sound, and commanded like Pikmin, so from a gameplay standard they count. And secondly, in lore they're actually bulborbs that have been taken hostage by a parasitic pikmin as their own onion, so crossbreed or not. They're pikmin in a way.

You forgot pikpik carrots you buffoon
where's pikmin 4 :(
Puffmin are lit
Puffmin are OP they can literally turn into a mushroom which has only appeared in the first game
Puffmin 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Blue pikmin do have more than just swimming, they can also rescue drowning pikmin in 1 and 2
Unfortunately not in three 😔
What?! I did not know that! That could’ve saved me a lot of time and stress in 2 lol.
They lost their lifeguard certification in 3.
In Smash, I believe they also have the greatest throwing power.
@Catgamer615 u sure u did it right? lol u definitely can
Purple pikmin have immunity to the fear effect from the mites in the eggs!
And wind
Really? I never knew that.
Yep
That's why they're the best for dealing with the mites
I'm pretty sure thier shock wave can kill multiple mites at a time too
You should use purples on the poison mites.
They also have wind resistance.
I don't know why but the purple Pikmin have always helped me the most and the one type that I have wanted to saver the most in pikmin.
It's cause they're big OP but relatively rare, so they're like a really nice reward :D
@@bighex5340 they are actually broken as hell.
My favorite Pikmin type is the White Pikmin, because I think they're the cutest

Winged Pikmin is best Pikmin
Yellow or blue are best cos they are electric bomb holders and fish plants wdym
Blues are found in awakening wood after destroying the electric gate
