To be fair, Lowko, the Mammoth Tank exists in both Command & Conquer (the entire Tiberium timeline) and Red Alert 1. Red Alert 2 replaced it with the Apocalypse tank from that time onwards, but it's still basically a Mammoth Tank with a different name.
25:29 The probe didn't manage to escape. He asserted dominance. That's why the siege tank decided to run away and the whole army didn't even dare looking at him while going home :)
My strategy once upon a time isn't that different from Lowko's. What I'd do, however, is make all the units from most costly to cheapest. My grand reasoning, not really knowing what the units did, was that each unit would have something it's good at. That being the case, having all the units meant I was ready for anything!
Lowko the tyrador skin's "tell" on the barracks is the front lights flashing on and off. The lights on top always flash, but the window on front glows onto the ground while producing.

I feel like DaNoM made a bet with someone on how far he can climb the ladder building only zerglings, he clearly knows how to play and rushes to adrenals
Something similar happened to me lots of years ago while playing ao2 when I got my elephants killed by a bunch of pikes (trash units) and then I realized.. yup I need to be clever and pay attention to bonuses lol.
I haven't played ladder since before legacy of the void came out. Having one or two builds, and being able to micro even a little could almost get you to masters. This makes me want to jump back in.
C&C and RA both have a mammoth tank but in RA it felt more like "Just another unit" whereas original GDI mammoth tanks in a 1v1 matchup of C&C are like "YEAH I GOT MAMMOTH TANKS NOW WHAT SUCKA." Its like if ultralisks could also shoot air (mammoth tanks, in addition to having two tank barrells and a lot of health, also have a rocket launcher that can target air). Crazy, right? But to your point about numbers, the most powerful unit in OG C&C is basically the nod recon bike because they move fast, they can shoot up, they can easily snipe harvesters, and they're really cheap and fast to build. Literally bad balance but it didn't matter because playing multiplayer games wasn't like it is now.
I used to play SC1 against my friend on the Nintendo64 splitscreen... he tried rushing to air units one game and didn't realize I was rushing mech... he sent his first two air units (maybe VRs? I don't remember) towards my base and they were halfway across the map when he heard (since splitscreen we hear each other's notifications) "Goliath online! Goliath online!" and just swore, threw the controller, and left the house.
@@gatherer818 RTS on an n64 sounds like a terrible experience, especially with a game that depends on not knowing what your opponent is doing. Its real odd that SC1 actually got made for N64.
That is true on the nod bikes but it's not that powerful in the pro scene as players are able to micro their harvesters around buildings to keep them alive while having their own units nearby to quickly shut them down as they are made of paper, it's not too different from starcraft hellions.
