The internet has really taught people that if you find someone annoying or don't like what they're doing then instead of just not giving them attention you should harass them to inhumane levels
and then to act shocked when it escalates to people doxing and harassing them offline. like, what? y'all seen this happen over and over and over again. almost all these weird ass 'haunt' videos are using threat language with some word swapping to make it mildly comedic at most (some don't even bother to do that), and y'all gonna act surprised that 'somehow' it escalated to people just sending threats and invasion of his privacy? really? that shouldn't be shocking, it is literally baked into the structure of this mob campaign.
i had to go get 'filled in' on the other videos mentioned and i kept waiting for the reveal that actually this guy has an account on neonazi forums or pictures of himself in a fucking klan uniform or was/is a serial harasser of marginalised folks on a shadow account, but instead it's just being mad at literally something that only matters if you're perpetually online. 'i'm a creative and i work hard and this talentless hack exists and is more seen' is a flimsy excuse because that has _always_ been the case on creation upload sites, these types of low-effort uploads that somehow strike big have _always_ existed on media upload sites and it's just something you gotta get over. it sucks if your effort goes unseen in comparison, but like, there are healthier ways to cope with that disappointment like being glad and proud of your effort and creativity and improvement, and that you're not pushing low-effort shit online. alternatively, you roll your eyes and find something better to occupy your damn time.

if i was ever in a place where basically the whole internet was sending me scary images saying they were outside my house, in my walls, in my vents, etc. i would be so freaked out by that to the point where i would be scared to even leave my house. I would check my house 4-6 times a day, set up cameras, delete all my socials, and way more. For me, i get very easily scared by the simpilist things even if i 100% KNOW they cant be real but idk that's just me. Also, some people have really bad paranoia and this can seriously do some harm even if its just jokes.

It’s true! Commentary channels are funny but if the creator endorses harassment it’s suddenly not a 1v1 (like the UA-camr making a commentary video, the subject responding etc) it’s a 1v100k or more. And honestly, these jokes came out of nowhere and have nothing to do with his content so it’s way out of line. I wish he’d told his subscribers what most youtubers do, which is that they don’t want their followers to go harass the person in question.
No point in saying really. I've only recently started watching Nick and already hoti how he sends his fans to 'harass' people he disagrees with. The whole he said us thing.. And actually a lot more. He literally tells them to do it and then jokingly says guys dont but the damage is already done...

He's also linked a guys discord in the description recently but that guy said to his fanbase to go and spam some girls discord bc he was sexist so I get that lol. I've seen however other examples of telling his fans to dislike bomb a video or smth and idk what to think- like these people are literally racist so technically they "deserve" it?? But at the end of the day using your platform like that inspires people to do the same, and while today is with someone we consider bad later it may be with just some random dude

Oftentimes they're actual languages and it perpetuates the notion that uncommon foreign languages (more so those that have their own script systems and thus "look weird") are inherently obscure simply because they're not universally known or spoken. That happens esp with African languages :/

I agree, it's honestly a little disturbing. Many of these messages go way too far with threats and implied stalking. With the "I know where you live" "We're coming to get you" "I'm in your house" "Be careful when you sleep" "Don't go home tonight" and putting specific dates to imply that something terrible/harmful will happen to you.
If anyone else got even one of these messages in their DM's that would be terrifying and people would be saying that this is awful. This behavior only encourages people to seek him out irl and do things to make him feel unsafe. I don’t enjoy Bentellect’s content, I have no opinion of him besides he’s a random guy who steals content. Some of these comments/videos towards him are funny, like maybe if it was done once or twice, but…….. idk seeing this massive spam of paranoia inducing comments is kind of unnerving. I have psychosis - don’t know Ben’s mental state ofc - but saying things like this to me, especially this often to this degree, would definitely send me into an intense daily paranoia. I guess I just say this to bring more awareness to never knowing what’s going on in someone’s mind, and what could really be dangerous to say to someone even if u think it’s a prank. Hopefully Ben doesn’t experience psychosis symptoms but even someone who doesn’t experience that I’m sure would feel some real fear reading these comments at times.

And it’s a very frightening thing to receive violent/threatening messages online en mass even if the senders aren’t serious. It’s also way uncalled for.
