I've known meat cows (and this looks like one) who would stay so far from their owners and show so little signs that they could get pretty bad off before they'd allow someone to approach them. Could be something like that. But honestly if you connect with your animals, no matter what their purpose, it is so much easier on both you and the animal to take care of them properly. At least she's cared for now.

You certainly get to handle some severe cases. Glad you will be helping reverse the infection, improve balance, and the cow will have a better chance. One hoof trimmer said cows can be in places were they are not noticed, sometimes deliberately hide out, certainly more so if they feel vulnerable, as from poor feet. Have also personally noted that sometimes a really severe condition can settle in in a very short time. Good this cow was noticed and you were called.

Glasses of milk in their lifetime and when they were done milking they put them out to pasture to live out their in comfort and grace
I hate when they sell them for slaughter. I pampered them kept them clean and got them fresh fruit all the time. I loved these cows for what they gave and I believe giving back. No way would any cow be in that kind of pain. Thanks for all you do guys and keep up the good work

Salt is a natural antibiotic and so I would imagine that even the most stubborn cow would stand for a few minutes in a bath of warm salt water in order to eliminate bacteria. I suggest that a salt bath be done inside a barn and away from any grassland because salt does kill grass. The health of the cow would be much better if it is shepherded through a warm salt bath, covering to ankle deep, at least every week.

I was surprised that you were able to get as much of that hoof off with the nippers as you did. If the cattle could just understand that we are trying to help them, but they fight so hard that it takes strong men and special equipment to care for them

How many YEARS and years of pain would it take for hooves to deteriorate to this extent!! This is a case of cruelty to animals, and the owner should be charged criminally and banned from owning animals that are so neglected. I come from cattle country, and If I saw an owner neglect his animals like that, i would report his cruel actions immediately.

You said it wasn't the owners fault but if he had his cows boots checked on regularly it would have been caught sooner and she would not have had to suffer aslong. So YES it is the owners fault. If you going to have an animal of any kind you should be willing to treat them as well as you treat yourself because they are part of you family.
    God Jehovah Bless You All

  • @terischiech

Their hooves should be checked on a regular basis. Don't tell not to blame the owners. If you want animals, make sure you can care for them. The better their feet are, the cheaper routine care should be.
I also think it's disgusting when some one gets a dog or a cat and never takes them to a vet.

It ain’t important what leaded to this, you need to give the dude probz about how he took care of this. I bet there is no general vet doc who could have done better than this. Great work. This is animal care at its best. ❤❤❤

What did they do wrong ? HGP uses nippers at times, even did a video just with nippers. He also started with a crush like this and it's widely used all over the world. He himself has addressed this very thing. Maybe watch more of his videos not just shorts

you wouldn't have to lift the "limb" as you call it to see how bad that was. that is neglect, pure and simple.

  • @mzmachio420
    @mzmachio420 6 місяців тому

This is a very old style and model of crush. I believe these were the first styles because original you held the cow on the ground to trim. So, the crush was designed off of that. Which i agee with what a few of ya'll said that this one is primative looking. But everything starts somewhere. I am so glad they have newer designs like the KVK.

To check up on this cow after 30-40 days is negligent. If you guys really have such hot & humid weather there you are supposed to check it more frequently (like after 2 weeks) - if you would care about the wellbeing of the cattle ...

  • @neilmurphy3239

Disgusting too see this that was rotten that hoof lessons could be learnt too minimise the suffering this animal experienced should check there animals more frequently that would solve this problem bless it
