I’m glad that Brandon is hosting more videos, he seems like a massive camera nerd. From one nerd to another, great job man.
He SEEMS like one?
DholocronKeeper I do wish we heard more from Brandon. I enjoy his stuff too
NWN Yeah, just listening to him talk makes me feel somehow smarter.
Brandon is the head of filming.. So yea.. He knows a thing or two about camera's.. He's the reason they bought a red in the first place
jootai yep, as a fellow camera enthusiast, you know we never stop asking for more gear
0:09 ..."who's left? Panasonic."
Nikon: *sad shutter noises*
lol nice one
I just opened youtube after playing with my Nikon. Its okay buddy, I still love you.
also: "You can use the same battery for your older camera, haven't seen that in other cameras"
Me: switching my EN-EL15 battery between my Z7, my D500, my D850 and my 7 years old D600....
Olympus: *silence*
@@TheRealLerad you and me both, brother... EN-EL15 and F-Mount, retrocompatibility represent
When I used a DSLR for the first time a canon eos350, which dad bought when I was about 15yrs old. I learnt nearly all the basics of handling it with just the manual. It was that detailed and this is prior to all the youtube tutorials for beginner camera users coming out. So have always appreciated a well-written manual.
@Love it when they Call me Big Papa holy shit calm down buddy. Wtf man
@Love it when they Call me Big Papa It's not about the autofocus but Nikon's video is just trash.
@Love it when they Call me Big Papa are you Trump?
I shoot on a canon eos40d, and I learned almost everything from the manual
@@sartori2226 Cannon didn't give me a full manual. It's just a quick start guide in a
million languages that doesn't tell you anything useful. The actual in
depth advanced user manual is a file you have to download from their
website.

Am I dumb or is 7,2 mAh a little bit low?
Edit: I looked it up. It has 2200 mAh at 7,2V volt. Someone was a little bit sleepy while writing the texts😂

@@maurice7017 was meinst du? xD

Same feelings!
@@maurice7017 Es ist besser als das was ich vorher hatte, also hab ich es einfach gelassen😂
I have no experience with photography and just love listening to Brandon talk about the cameras to the point I'm like
"pshh micro HDMI? And L-mount for lenses? Rookie move"
For me, I almost *always* use the lens hoods, even if they're really shallow. My area of focus is sports, so when it comes to balls flying at my face, it's a lot better to shatter a lens hood then to shatter a lens element. Even if it doesn't damage the lens hood, it's way easier to not have to clean the lens glass from vinyl or TPU material smears from the plastics used on sports balls and pads. The TPU material that gets used for the covers of soccer balls is really difficult to clean off without scratching the lens element.
With you on that Sejin, I have banged and not realized I did against walls, and things, and the hood was scratched, but my lens was unscathed. Hoods matter and save lenses.
Some hoods make lenses look cooler, and not only that, that can protect from bumps and sometimes remove some lens flares
they also improve image contrast due to the shielding of 'stray light' n help to reduce flares.
@@iforgotmyusername0 hmm that's not true
All of the lenses that I have use really well-designed optics with well-engineered coatings, so I've never really had issues with flare unless I really push the lens in a way that it's not designed to work. Although let's be honest, the hoods are only designed to make the lens look cooler.
The only thing I understand in this video is his passion for photography.
"Who's left?"
RIP Olympus
RIP Nikon too :(
Rip Fujifilm as well
SuperBlitz22 what how?😂 fuji is the third most sold camera

SuperBlitz22 What? Neither the woosh part nor the joke isbanyhow funny?
Documentation engineers are HELLA underrated. I worked with the head of documentation at an engineering company, and the amount of paperwork they generate is INSANE.
This is the most important content on short circuit imo.
this channel is like how movies and video games produce remakes. It feels alot like the old great content of yester year without loosing all the amazing progress that channel has made since then. Its like having your cake and eating it too. Thanks for the awesome content
Brandon is just as good in front of the camera as he is behind it! When is he getting his own series about film and photography?
Yes, another one of Brandon's finest Videos - really like him presenting and being passionate about what he does
Give this man a photography channel!! Please!!!!!! He present so much better than all the other youtubers in the segment.
11:45 On Sony the lens release is at the exact same spot. I know because I keep releasing the lens by accident, it almost cost me a 24-70 GM.
ouch..time to glue some razors on that nasty button 😄
Even for APS-C, so easy to click it honestly
I love how excited when he unbox or review a new camera, it's great he's the one doing it you can see he knows what he talks about.
Please keep the camera videos coming. I know it's a little niche but as a filmmaker i am loving it
brandon is soooo good at presenting, I don't really care about cameras but the way he's talking about it is really great
Brandon you are so amazing at presenting tech. I just want to buy all the cameras that you review or unbox. Lol, I can't though. I love your work man..keep rocking.
I love Brandon’s enthusiasm of photography and videography.
Congrats again for another 1Mil channel! 🎉
I really love the way how all of you take over reviews you are the most exposed to❤️
Thanks for being my background noise while I was making tea... I don't know alot about cameras I just like the videos😂
7.2mAh are you sure? That's not a lot of power
its a 7.2v 2200mah
>7.2mAh
>power
are u sure about that
@@supershafik makes more sense.
I bought this camera too, super happy with it! Autofocus isnt the best but useable. Great camera :D
Delightful as always
Brandon needs to host more videos, he's just gotten so much better over the years and I like no nonsense straight-forward informative approach. I like the way everyone else hosts their videos on LMG videos but it's good to have diversity :D, keep up the great work!
I never knew I needed a camera until I watched this video. Great job Brandon!
I immediately click on a video when Brandon’s in it because I know there will be something informative and useful about cameras. Thank you, Brandon!
Nice review and good points man
I don't think I've seen any of Brandon's videos before, but I really enjoyed this. More Brandon, please
Love the camera series 👌🏾👌🏾
It's so much fun watching someone talk about something that u have no idea of
your brain is happy, he is learning some new stuff there :)
Brandon is such a great presenter. Really hope this channel has more presenters that aren’t Linus, we get plenty of him on LTT. It’s a refreshing change seeing the rest of the team present, there’s so much amazing talent in the team and it’s great to see how passionate so many of them are
I'm happy they're having Brandon on (relatively) more frequently for camera reviews!
It's a long hands on! Love the video
You got a like, for acknowledging that people writing manuals exist and that they do great job. I agree 100%
Brandon is doing a great job! I would suggest having him do a video where you compare the best video/photo camera per price category. Like "best video camera under 500$, 1000$, 1500$, etc
I don't know what he is talking about, but I love to see such expertise and familiarity that a real professional has with his tools.
I don't care at all about th cameras, but it's so pleasant to watch and hear Brandon that I watched to the end. I guess it is called charisma. Also mentioning the manual writers was something worth respect and a like.
I now, take a moment to appreciate the writers of manuals. Thank you guys !
( :
Good work Brandon!
As usual a good camera overview from brandon. Hope he's free for a full review of this camera.
Brandon you’re a good person
I really like the popups. As someone not in the know, I found them informative.
Big same.
Have no idea about anything related to photography just like listening to Brandon talk.
So I'm like "damn they got an APSC crop, that's unfortunate they have this thing I just found out existed"
I have never and probably will never be a photo/video guy and couldn't care less about cameras, but for some reason I watch every single ShortCircuit video with Brandon in it.
What would be a good low light lense to go with this guy? Could you make vintage cinema lense work with this?
Love the hard work! Hope you guys are holding up well -
Aw yea, glad you appreciate those technical communication writers!
what I like from LMG short circuit, they have mostly right people for unboxing that have expert opinion on the product.
I was really excited for the blackmagic one !
Love your passion on this unboxing. Would love to hear your view on some niche products like Fujifilm X-Pro3. Cheers.
Love you Guys ❤️
Im starting to really get into cameras and Shortcircuit and Brandon are playing a big part in that
regarding double tap to focus at 13:00, in Manual Focus mode you can aim the yellow box and press AF (bottom right screen). If you are in single AF or C-AF, just tap the yellow box once and it will try to focus that area automatically
I have always enjoyed panasonic cameras, theyre easy to use with a nice interface and always good quality with nice features
I love how he packed back the box 😁
Love the camera content! a feature review of the mirror-less camera's u mentioned in this vid would b NICE!! pro's cons, yah KNOW
Well done Panasonic. ALways best and reliable. Live the colors.
I'm not even into cameras but I love watching these videos I learn a lot
Y'all see how he completely closed the box with the tab on the top too? Why is that more satisfying than seeing people throw the boxes away?
The amount of knowledge this dude has. Omg
The strength of this channel is the presenters
S5 is awesome. used them for years.
We need more Camera reviews from Brandon, or videos from Brandon in general!
I'd like to see a follow-up video where you take the camera out on a full test drive to find out how it performs real world and if it has any issues, such as overheating during video shoots.
Yes!!! More Brandon please! Let him do vids on Arri cameras!
Love that they put their most knowledgeable camera guy to review cameras.
Cameras reviews are the best
Im gonna assume I understood everything he said and will say “good job mate, nice video”
I like the second camera on his 3/4 side. mmm angles.
me watching this : hmm yes interesting
*i have no idea about anything in this video*
oh, big same
I love you.
Watching Brandon makes me feel like I know something when I really don't
hi.. good explanation by the way... however, I wanna ask.. does the camera fully weather sealed? and does it have a sensor shutter door to close the sensor when it's not being used? thanks 👍👍
Is there any reason to use the micro-hdmi (or hdmi in general) over usb-c? I've no clue about cameras, just curious.
I love when LMG covers camera equipment.
"The S5 sits in a price bracket that is much more accessible to people who are *just* getting into photography" Price: $2000
“Much more” means that in comparison to other cameras that’s not bad considering what it packing
Anything less would be used or midrange. Relatively affprdable but yeah..2k is 2k. I feel you.
Yeah $2000 is not beginner photography money. Try sub $1000 in a Sony, Nikon, or Pentax. I can pick up a Pentax KP with an f1.8 50mm for about $800 and it’s approximately the same specs as this.
@@One_Bar For photography that Pentax setup is darn good. Won't fare as good though in terms of filmmaking.
@@One_Bar But it's not, because it isn't full frame. I'm honestly trying really hard to figure out where you got the idea that the Pentax KP is about the same as the S5...
Brandon Camera Tips returns!
I'm not a camera guy but I like to watch this videos to try to educate myself on these things. By the way Brandon, I really like your glasses, care to share a link or the model name?
Panasonic S5 user here... STUNNING camera for video 24p 4K 10bit 4:2:2 in camera is incredible.
The only downside is that Panasonic has a contrast detect AF system which at best is autistic.
Throw on a 14-24 f2.8 and a 24-70mm f2.8 Sigma ART lenses and a DJI SC and your all good to go.
Had to give this video a like for the shoutout to all the underappreciated technical manual writers out there.
Kool. Awesome. Camera.
Is there anywhere that coallates the different camera models, features, new and used prices? What would be a good first step up camera from a phone, for a talking head video? Either 720p or 1080p. Budget with lens is biggest factor
Still expensive, especially without a lens included
GH5 is cheaper and it shoots 4:2:2. With a focal reducer you get similar results if not better.
Shepard ye it’s also a micro 4/3 whereas this is fullframe.
@@cmdr.shepard A focal reducer does not give you similar or better results compared to full frame with the GH5. A GH5s could give you similar video quality but the look would still be slightly more cropped in with a little more in focus at any given f-stop.
I'd love to see the Zeiss ZX1 camera.
camera user manual is ❤️❤️❤️
Do you guys have a standing offer to your staff that if they buy a cool gadget for personal use, they can make an unboxing video for it?
Brandon, Terran, and Ed are still my favourite hosts 😁
I use the lumix g7. It’s incredible value
I'd love to see a matchup of all these cameras!
Would love to see your impression in the R5 Brandon!
12:00
with sony E the button is most definitely at the exact same spot, I'm looking right at my A7 III
Looking forward to see Brandon has his channel about cameras
15:35 Sony camera you can choose 16:9 or 3:2 in stills. You can also set 21:9 display bar but need to crop in post.
I'm excited more for the GH6
please do more camera reviews with Brandon with comparison shots, setup a standard test scinario
Short Circuit: We make short videos unboxing things and take a quick look at cool tech!
Brandon: This is my 19 minute video of the Panasonic S5!
This guy is awesome on camera.
Can we get reviews on the z cam cameras? Thanks! Love the vids!
follow this video up with a review of the Panasonic GX85, it's 4 years old and is under appreciated. and since you worked with the GH4, youll find the look to be very similar.
Both of my older Sony mirrorless cameras have their lens release in that spot. I think it was moved on newer models because it's too easy to press by accident.
please review the Nikon z7 2 and the z6 2 when they come out later this month
