Yes Layne does sometimes do a low sound on an in breath. Geoff admits he can't do that, but Layne can do almost anything with his vocal percussion. Love your reaction. And their latest, Seven Nation Army, is incredible.
I absolutely love VoicePlay! They are incredibly talented and creative. I didn't see where you reacted to Valhalla Calling... it is EPIC. Just makes your heart beat faster.
One thing that always surprises me about Voiceplay is that they tend to outdo themselves at every new video. 🙂
Since this, they did "Golden hour" (sweet, romantic AND kinda weird... 😁) ft. Anthony Gargiula, "Valhalla Calling" (the follow up to "My Mother Told me", both from Assassins Creed V - Valhalla and/or "Vikings", the TV series) ft. J None, and the newest one, third of their post-apocalyptic series, "7 Nations Army", which is breaking reactors left and right 😅.
I hope you'll do at least some of them. 🙂
BTW that weird sound during the violin solo WAS an inhale note by the beatboxer. 🙂

I love a Reaction offered by someone who understands the complexity and layering of their vocals not to mentio9n all the production, costumes, lights, e4tc. SO many talent layers. Geoff said he cannot do the inhale growl well so he leaves it to Layne

You’re fast becoming one of my favorite reactors, just because it’s so fun to watch your face while you listen. You know what’s going on and can talk about how it happened (by the way you reproduced that inhaled growl perfectly). I also appreciate what you said at the end about the hard work that goes into Geoff’s singing. If you go back to songs from a couple years ago and compare to today, you can see that ALL of the guys have been putting in the work. They were great before, but they have leveled up and up in the last two years.

Oh, and ETA, wait til you hear Seven Nation Army-they leveled up yet again. I heard the original and liked it (as in, yeah, it’s OK) but the Voiceplay version has been on repeat for days now-and I NEVER do that.

Been watching your uploads waiting for the next Voice Play reaction. I usually don't recommend videos, but as someone else posted, they just dropped "Seven Nation..." They've upgraded their game....again....as usual.

It's amazing what they have done in the last 1.5 yrs. From I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt) to Dream On (Aerosmith) and In the Hall of the Mountain King (Edvard Grieg 1875), Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush and Stranger Things), Hide and Seek (Ding Dong), Enemy (Imagine Dragons), Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), Golden Hour, Valhalla Calling (Miracle of Sound who rated VP's version as 10 out of 10 raised alehorns), Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). They have done an apocalyptic trilogy with Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On (Aerosmith), and Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). The variety is incredible.
This is one of my favorite Matellica songs. VoicePlay did an amazing job covering the song. These guys are so talented. Thank you for the reaction.

Geoff has a video explaining how he is able to sing as low as he does. He uses vocal subharmonics for those sudden octave drops (and for all of his other mega-low notes). It's worth checking out, especially as an artist yourself. As a choral bass I've found his tutorials very useful.

Thanks for reacting to this. I think they did a phenomenal job on it. Please consider doing their two most recent songs. “Valhalla Calling” has a section you would be especially apt at commenting on. As well as some of Geoff’s lowest notes. And “Seven Nation Army” has some of the wildest beatboxing I’ve ever heard, but you could certainly give us a better explanation than most reactors. One reactor said Layne sounded ‘demonic’, another thought ‘velociraptor’.

I enjoyed your reaction very much- thanks! Voice Play recently released two new ones that are blowing reactors away: "Valhalla Calling" and "Seven Nation Army". You are very talented and very knowledgeable about beatboxing techniques and rap and both these songs are so complicated I would love to hear a reaction from you explaining what we are hearing that is so amazing. Deep bass singer, Geoff, and beatboxer, Layne have been best friends singing together since they were 12 years old in Jr high school. Layne is next level beatboxing with some strange techniques of inhaling to create different sounds combined with Geoff's insane lows periodically combined with some beatboxing techniques are just so exciting.
As great as this is, it's just a warmup for their newest cover of Seven Nation Army by White Stripes....
Their sound guy, Ed Boyer, is a brilliant.
And nothing else matters.....💜

As fantastic as this was, they topped it with Valhalla Calling, and then upped it AGAIN with Seven Nation Army. They take songs that shouldn't work as a cappella and then just kill them.

I love Voice Play they are so good ❤❤ if you want to hear the best vocalist I have ever heard you should check out Dimash kudiabergen S.O.S earthling in distress or Stranger just about anything he sings is Amazing most of them are in different languages but dont let that stop you believe me he is definitely worth checking out.
