Humantay Lake Hike - Salkantay Trek Day 1

The journey to Machu Picchu often brings many travellers to the Salkantay trek. It is one of the most beautiful and notorious hikes in all of South America and begins on day one with some incredible views, beautiful rest stops, and one of the craziest glacial lakes you will ever find. Humantay lake (Lago Humantay) is the perfect place to introduce yourself to the trek as it's gruelling, high in altitude, and totally worth every single step!

I felt the altitude with you there hahaha, reminded me of Rinjani. Those views though!!! So worth it. I want to see more of the drone footage haha, presume that's on the way once you have the green light?

Josh Edwards yep! I actually posted the film to linkedin today which has a lot of the drone footage. Some places I wasn’t able to fly due to winds and not having a safe enough landing space unfortunately. Appreciate it my man!
