i really do hope the next game is on nintendo's supposed upcoming current gen console, and I hope it ditches that lazy excuse of an art style in the cel shading, which just poorly masks the bad graphics, I also hope the combat is more parry based and challenging, maybe even a smaller map to focus on fidelity, performance, and better game mechanics instead of sheer scale, hopefully even a better story? what I'm looking for is a reinvention of Zelda, while also being somewhat a return to form
The way I see the buttons like yeah obviously they’re A,B,X,Y I also see them as Up, Down, Left, Right X = Up B = Down Y = Left A = Right So whenever I want to jump “up” I press the X button which I see as “up” That’s how I make it, make sense in my brain lol

You can change the x and b buttons
You can reverse the Sprint and jump button controls
How the heck is this a review if you’re only 10-15 hours in? That’s tutorials. We get it, you want to be involved in the Zelda talk by sharing a “review”, but reviewing a game when you’ve barely put anytime into it is comedy level stuff.
Next time, play the game before reviewing it. Hope you play more than 15 hours of Starfield before reviewing. I enjoy your content Matty, but no reason for a review of a game you haven’t even completed.
Tbh the mainstream lot does the exact same
@@EPmager the gaming media annoys me. Imagine barely playing a game and calling it a review just to get traffic to your channel.. Matty was also on Sacred Symbols talking about reviewers reviewing games they haven’t beaten, but here he is doing exactly that. Gaming creators chase traffic, nothing else.
I'm absolutely in love with the game. I'm so impressed. It has already been kicking elden ring from my throne. Btw you can swap the jump button to B btw ;) i also have backpadels on my joycons and use them for sprinting. So excited! I got a feeling this will be my favorite game of all time. Have fun gaming y'all!
There’s an option in settings where you can change jump to B and run to X, it felt better to me
Yea but I still want jump and select/pickup to be the same button. The controls button mapping is just not intuitive
Awesome review, Matty
Love TOTK 😭 I've only played 20 hours but it's amazing. Absolute masterpiece and I hope it helps revolutionize gaming again like BOTW did.
Miyazaki said one of his biggest inspirations to elden ring was BOTW so my theory is it will have an impact on the industry for those who actually care about the medium
I just can’t see the cookie cutter Ubisoft template disappearing
Just so you know you can change the jump button mapping and controls in the options menu. So your nit pick is null invoid
I can't wait mine arrives tomorrow i can't wait to fight Ganondorf his design looks so sick easily my second favorite Ganondorf design
I'd like to thank you for bringing more attention to such an obscure and niche game.
I keep pressing R to run and it throws my weapon. I press B to jump and he runs.
I had the same problem with the control set up too ever since Breath of the Wild. I changed it to Super Mario World's style and all is right with the world again.
The controls really? I mean it’s breath of the wild and you can switch the jump and sprint buttons…..180 hours in and I’m still finding new stuff fuse a ice block to your shield and surf lol
Just a shoutout, I’d say Deathloop was the last systems driven game, so not terribly long ago. Obviously not as ambitious as this game. Hardly any game is
Salutations Mr Matty!! 😊
i really do hope the next game is on nintendo's supposed upcoming current gen console, and I hope it ditches that lazy excuse of an art style in the cel shading, which just poorly masks the bad graphics, I also hope the combat is more parry based and challenging, maybe even a smaller map to focus on fidelity, performance, and better game mechanics instead of sheer scale, hopefully even a better story? what I'm looking for is a reinvention of Zelda, while also being somewhat a return to form
Love the persona 4 shirt homie
Beautiful game, gives hope to this world
The way I see the buttons
like yeah obviously they’re A,B,X,Y
I also see them as Up, Down, Left, Right
X = Up
B = Down
Y = Left
A = Right
So whenever I want to jump “up”
I press the X button which I see as “up”
That’s how I make it, make sense in my brain lol
Should so buy this game or breath of the wild? First time switch lite buyer
Don't buy this one for the current Nintendo console, wait till their new mainline platform next year or play it through yuzu
@@EPmagerdon't listen to this guy.
You can play either one, but I'd recommend botw first
@@homelesshobo I didn't say 'play' or 'don't play'...
Go to settings controller setup and enable jumping switch bottom easy fix Nintendo included both way of playing
I’m thinking about it at work and fusing logs together on the side of the road in my mind
i got the master sword and completed the entire map before doing any story quests lol, they gave me the paraglider and i was like goodbye im off
Same 🤣
How many hours have you put in?
@@guutenks2498 I couldn't say,the emulator I'm playing on doesn't count but I'd say at least 50
I had the same issue with the controls, you can fix it back to how it was in BoTW
I have no idea when I'll start story missions I'm just having a blast running around
There’s an option in the settings to swap jump and spring so they make sense. I shudder for anyone who didn’t find that early on.
Can you imagine if nintendo built Tears on the Horizon forbidden west engine on ps5 level hardware
People think graphics is everything sure horizon looks good but the gameplay in horizon is boring
^this is facts bro forbidden west looks amazing but not even close to how much fun botw and tears are
As long as they don't make Zelda look like Aloy...
A review should be shared once you're done with the game or gave up on it. This is running after clicks.
I played this game for 6 hrs now and I think it’s just a re packaged botw almost all of the map is reused the gameplay doesn’t feel upgraded same art design runs at 30 fps
I'm looking to buy a used copy, are you selling?
All of the map is reused? Mans must have not seen the depths.
@@chainsaw8507 Honestly wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't seen it, I sailed the high seas to play early and I had well over ten hours before I actually gave it any real attention. I ignored all marketing so I had no idea something like that was even in the game. I dived down once in the early game and lit up one root before leaving it for later and didn't realize that it was the ENTIRE MAP down there not just a small section. Crazy bastards actually pulled off what Elden Ring only teased.
@@InMaTeofDeath True, the depths don't look like much at first. Only recently have I actually seen what it has to offer, and it's insane. Also even if you did see the marketing you wouldn't know about it. Nintendo kept that part completely secret, though there were speculations.
totally didn't play that long cuz they have a entire map the size of the base map underground
Damn nobody told him you can swap the X and B buttons
Even that’s dumb
First thing I did.. But the default is dumb.
Good review!
Great video. I agree with most of all you said I think. Especially the part about the problem solving aspect of BotW and now TotK. I dislike puzzle solving games. I don't want or need to do math problems in games! TotK let's me solve problems my way. I dig that so much
