Watch out for gossipers because if they gossip about others they will gossip about you.

This is true. I accept it. It's sad to watch people suck up to people at work who don't care about you.

I like this analogy, ‘ loose lips sink ships- I feel it highlights the importance of keeping things to yourself!

In my opinion, don’t over share personal information at work because co-workers can use that information against you or manipulate the information to suit their purpose and make themselves look good in front of the boss and make you look bad.

I did a survey recently asking the question “Should you keep your work life and personal life separate?”
Over 80% of the people said yes to keeping work and personal separate.
    Do you agree?

I suggest that if you have nothing good to say about someone then best not to say anything. Silence says a lot.

Don’t give them anything, keep quiet and it boring, don’t reveal any interests, be indifferent, keep your life history out of the office, never express an opinion on politics, when office-gossip comes your way change the subject or say you don’t want to get involved. Listen but don’t speak 90% of the time. Never talk about your company to co-workers.
Even if you think you’re making friends they will drop you once you (or they) move on.
