@Andy Womer Bad drivers aren't necessarily auto brand specific. I grew up in the Northeast and moved to Tennessee for a job transfer several years ago. Drivers in the South are notorious for nonchalantly cruising in the left lane with a half dozen or more cars behind them. They are also apparently unfamiliar with the turn signal stalk on the left side of the steering column, but that's a whole 'nother rant.
Late reply, but I'm a Prius owner (have a 2021 Prime). I completely admit that I drive a couple miles per hour lower than I did in my previous car because I definitely like getting as much efficiency as I can, but I still typically drive 3-5 mph over the limit. That said, I can't tell you how many times I've come up on someone in the right lane going slower than me but when I change lanes to pass the jackass speeds up. Then I'm stuck in the left lane matching speed with the jerk in the right lane going 58 in a 55 when I was going to rear end the SOB going 54 just five seconds before. I actually think some people have a problem with being passed by a Prius because it happens way too much to be a coincidence. More often than not it's a guy in a pickup. Another thing that I've noticed, and I'm not sure if Toyota does this for efficiency, but if they do, I think it could be a safety issue and they should stop, I think the speedometer is set low. When I use my Google maps on my phone it gives me my current speed. In my last car, a 2018 VW Passat, the speed on my speedometer and on Google maps would almost always be the same or MAAAYBE one mph lower on Google maps. In the Prius, Google maps consistently tells me I'm 2-4 mph lower than what my speedometer says. I know this so I compensate, but if it's an endemic problem with the Prius and not just isolated to mine, lots of folks may think they're going 60 in a 55 when they're really going 56.
Prius drivers driving well under the speed limit is a _driver_ issue, that people attribute to the Prius itself for some reason. Meanwhile, the stereotype of BMW drivers not indicating seems to be universally - abd *correctly* - attributed to _BMW drivers,_ not the BMW cars.
@@brianthomas2839 My understanding is that most speedometers read a little higher than your actual speed for safety reasons. Due to wear, calibration or measurement equipment etc, etc, even two seemingly identical speed guns may measure a car's speed slightly differently. Additionally, you never ever want to be in a situation where you're actually going _faster_ that the car claims Also makes it nearly impossible for a rogue fed to claim you were doing slightly over the speed-limit if your car is indicating that you're going at 50mph, for example. In my current car, if I have to go at 50mph (or whatever speed limit), I have to go about 3mph above what the speedometer says for my *real* speed (according to GPS) is actually at the speed limit. With all that said, those who drive well under the speed limit are bad drivers. Going at the speedometer-indicated speed should never put someone at a dangerously low speed (and that's a legal requirement as far as I know).
I recently had a 2018 Prius as a Lyft and was quite impressed... comfortable interior and nicely-equipped as well... the girl that who was my driver told me she is on her third Prius. I'd actually consider one.
I sat in one at the Seattle Auto Show a few years ago and it was pretty nice! Especially compared to the prior Prius models with horrible plastic everywhere. Only drawback is how slow it is and how it looks
I drive a 2nd gen Prius, and I always find it funny when people that test drive them insist on flooring the gas pedal. when I bought my 2nd Gen, it took me about 10 minutes to figure out the most efficient way to drive it. flooring it is not the answer the engine ramps up to full RPM which is not the way you need to drive this car. Off the line give it about 1/4 throttle quickly increasing to half throttle, if you need to continue to accelerate as the engine RPM climbs go ahead and then floor it. 0 to 30 on this car is actually pretty decent and I outrun more powerful cars pretty regularly using the instant torque of the electric motors. But if you floor it from a stop it goes into gas engine mode and seems to use less of the electric motor torque then if you put it about halfway to the floor. I'm not sure why he complains about the gas engine being on constantly on the highway every other gas powered car the engine is running constantly on the highway at about the same RPM coincidentally. I live in West Texas and I have absolutely no problems rolling along at 85-90 MPH with traffic. Or passing people in traffic. I totally agree with him on the looks with the 4th gen I think they really just wanted to make it look alien-like. Quite frankly the second gen and 3rd gen look way better. I do think what they should have done is just take the Prius Prime front end which had pretty good looking horizontal LED headlight elements and put that in all of the Priuses. and do something with the tail lights I have no idea what would make that look better. But the refresh that they just did on the 2019 does not make it look better, it makes it look more boring which is not what they needed to do. if I was buying a hybrid today I would probably buy a Prius only because of the good reliability history with this vehicle. But the car I would want to own is the Hyundai ioniq or kia Niro much better looks much nicer interior actually HAS Android Auto, for about the same amount of money. But I drive 50,000 miles a year, so I would unfortunately buy The ugly duckling Prius because I know it's not going to break down when I've got 250,000 miles on it. It's also extremely practical and roomy.. which is an important thing for my needs.
A face only a mother could love. Accord comes to mind honestly. In it's own quirky way it's the king that started the hybrid revolution. No other hybrid can take that crown.
As much as I love your coverage at NAIAS, and the frequency of which we get uploads during events like that, I missed your in-depth overviews! From the way the door sounds when it closes, to the push button start, to the dampened gloveboxes- it's all of the little things that you do that really sets this channel apart. Other channels do an okay job, but they don't cover EVERYTHING, which makes it necessary to watch multiple videos on a car to really get the whole impression. With Redline, you know that unless you're wanting a second opinion or different personality, any other video about a car covered by Redline isn't going to yield any new information. Keep it up!!
Speaking of the NAIAS, this year's Detroit Auto Show was kind of slow. There was really not that much going on with the reveals of new and/or all-new cars, and especially considering several automakers like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz left the show. Thankfully though, vehicles like the new Supra were enough to mercifully save this year's otherwise slow start right off the bat.
@@thecriticalthinkeroutsidet4947 Agreed! But we did get really spoiled last year with nearly every manufacturer revealing new models, or pretty significant refreshes. Can't really expect that every year. The new Supra didn't impress me too much.. I work for the company that takes BMW's emergency calls, and with Toyota borrowing so much from BMW for the Supra, the emergency calls from the Supra will be going to our call center as well- so we've had a good bit of sneak peeks(:
@@Julius4396 Guess it makes more sense since the NAIAS next year will even move to June. As for the new Supra... don't take it the wrong way. There's a reason for this. I'm certain that the same company that made and gave us the LFA knows how to make a sports car (should I even mention that the Toyota Motor Corporation remade the LFA from scratch multiple times and ended up losing a ton of money based on every unit sold?). It has everything to do with profit, as well as development costs and reducing them. Sales for these types of cars don't justify the cost of producing by yourself. Like with manufacturing the GT86 and its BRZ twin/clone (yes, the BRZ is actually the rebadged GT86), and its boxer engine (hence the D4S system from Toyota) to tribute the Sports 800, partnering with another company lowers the cost for both parties involved and still allows enough differentiation to make the car unique, and makes it easier for both companies since these cars are expensive to produce (despite being alright-to-low volume sellers), making the car more competitive sports car-wise, pricing-wise, and within the segment it competes in. For instance, the MKIV back in the day was priced in the $60K range and they couldn't sell enough to make it profitable. If they designed everything on their own, the new car would be priced over the $100K range. I'm sure that in itself would prove the new Supra would've otherwise flopped like the original and the new NSX did. But this move makes sense as Akio Toyoda wanted to bring the Supra back to satisfy the fans and make it affordable (heck the new car costs comparably as it's predecessor did back in the day). And at least they are keeping the Inline-6 heritage alive unlike Nissan did with the GT-R. (even with today's market flocking for SUVs, at least appreciate Toyota giving us something appealing. So much so that they even gave us an all-new, redesigned, if otherwise almost perfect new Avalon lately, which in fact revealed at the NAIAS last year). The new Supra will compete against the Jaguar F-Type, Porsche Cayman, Alpine A110, Audi TT, etc just to name a few). Toyota had the right to collab with BMW to reduce development costs to make the car more profitable and help keeping costs down for the consumer while sharing costs with another automaker (BMW on this occasion) within manufacturing plants, which is why BMW asked Toyota to co-develop the car. All BMW did was supply the chassis (which Toyota then enhanced the rigidity, suspensions, structure, etc their own way), the powertrain (which Toyota then tuned in their own way), and some parts shared here and there then began to mind their business. So given the fact that Toyota and BMW haven't interacted with each other for years now during the development process, it's clear that the Supra and Z4 will be different cars for the vast majority (especially while it may share only 6 similar hardware components with the Z4, it is still considerably different all due to the different software). Let alone that BMWs straight-six motors are some of the best in the industry, and the B58 in itself is pretty much the German equivalent of the 2JZ (and the Supra itself is known for having a straight-six motor anyway) and it has massive tuning potential like the 2JZ, but Toyota didn't actually just take it straight from BMW and called it a day, when they enhanced, customized, tuned, and supplied it how they wanted it to be, consisting of Toyota's feel and soul. So the car will pretty much end up being more Toyota than BMW for that matter, which in the end, doesn't qualify as badge-engineering since for one everything should be identical for it to be rebadged, and two the tuning, customization, and enhancements are done in Toyota's own way for the powertrains, suspensions, electronics, structure, power-to-weight distribution ratio, platform, rigidity, throttle response, etc, while also supplying the software, coding and programming, and also, just basically the overall package. To summarise it more simpler, the new Supra and Z4 have shared engines and platforms that have been independently been developed, so the cars are still different, the new Supra however consists of Toyota's touch. On top of all of that, the car has an exceptionally well developed chassis and will be quick from the factory (as opposed to the prior Supra that was a fun car but was in no possible way, shape or form some kind of supercar killer. It's tuners the ones who made the MKIV a supercar killer). So, again, the upcoming Supra is still a Toyota overall, feels like one, and is still a Supra, but re-imagined, and is NOT a Z4 in disguise, nor is it a rebadged BMW either. At the end of the day, there is a difference in partnering with another company for legitimate risky reasons and actually rebadging a product from another company.
have an 2018 Four with the screen and love it.. 1600ish miles a month and its like $64 top run the car (i do 80mph on my commute) As for the looks.. people want a unique looking car and this is unique.. you know what it is on the road and don't confuse it with a generic sedan or SUV.
The looks have grown on me, though admittedly, I'm in the minority. At night, the LED light pipe rear tail lights are quite fetching. And 65 cubic feet with the seats down with that huge opening is fantastic.
the car is fine, the whole sedan market is crashing, idiots buying pickup trucks as daily drivers, ppl dont care about saving gas lower emissions etc. toyota needs to keep going, the truck market will crash eventually
Technically the Prius is fine, ultra reliable... but it's FUGLY and it doesn't need to be, the whole design of this car doesn't make any sense at all. It isn't hard to design EV's or Hybrids that look good. If Toyota designed a good looking Prius sales will skyrocket, I'm willing to bet money on that.
I worked at a Honda Dealership when the gas prices went through the roof and all those people came in to try to get out of those SUV’s and pickups. I just couldn’t bring myself to feel bad for them. They were so upside down in those things that most couldn’t get out of them and they could no longer afford to drive it. I’ve always waited for gas prices to come down making the SUV/Truck market boom and then I go buy a new sedan and get a huge discount so I’m very appreciative of the gas hog buyers, they’ve saved me thousands and thousands over the decades. A Prius.... I would never buy, ever.... it’s to much money for a commuter car at any mpg
JogBird no toyota already making hybrids cross overs and compact SUVs, and with electric cars slowly coming in, gas mileage and emission will mean nothing
I bought a Prius cause it looks good said nobody ever. These vehicles are bought by people who love saving money and usually have way more in the bank then the guy in the used M5.
Welcome to the ultimate guide to knowing a good car from a bad car! Step #1: you must ask the question : Does a car do what it is built to do effectively and relatively efficiently? If the answer is yes then it is a good car , if no then its not a good car. Does the Prius do what it is supposed to do efficiently and effectively (Get you from A to B while getting good fuel economy)? Yes it does! , then its a good car. **Never owned a prius, never will , just layin' out the facts**
The car is ugly despite having a decent gas mileage. If Toyota would just trash the entire design of the vehicle and make it a conventional style, I'm sure it would sell better.
Soarer Limited JZZ30 Cheap gas has a lot to do with that. Plus, there are many more hybrid options then there were just a few years ago. Not to mention all-electric offerings.
I don’t car how ugly a car is or how many people make fun of it. If I can get a car that get 54 mph and doesn’t break down all the time I’m getting it. I don’t travel a ton but every couple of weeks I hit the highway to visit family. In two years I plan on getting a Prius. I ha e one child and this car would be perfect for us.
I do not understand why anyone would get a prius now when you get roughly the same mpg with a camry and i think the avalon. People use to get these because of the better mileage then traditional toyota vehicles. So this car makes no sense now.
The 2019 Prius with AWD-e gets 50 combined MPG. Last I checked you couldn't get AWD with any Toyota Corolla. 50 MPG with AWD is a serious accomplishment. I have hated Prii all my life but with the 2019 model with AWD-e on the horizon I am seriously considering getting one.
Tayshawn Price Also the hatchback design is so practical for hauling stuff. You can transport an amazing amount of cargo with the rear seat folded down.
This handles well, but overall performance wise, I’m overly disappointed. I do like that it has an underbody kit, and I think most cars should have them. Sporty, but not fast or even quick is okay depending on the vehicle. I don’t think we should directly compare EV’s and hybrids. The price points differ too much, at this point. The AWD Prius’s will be great from a light, and useless over 45 mph. I’ve been asking myself should we consider awd hybrid Lexus/Toyota’s vehicles as actual awd vehicles?
It is way more beautiful than the older Prii (which are a sight for sore eyes). This one is roomy & spacious like a bubble! The 2020 Prime finally does have Apple Carplay (I'm guessing that the 2020 Prius Liftback would have it too). With a larger electric battery, the Prius Prime has more torque and is thus a lot quieter. They made a ton more small improvements, like moving the seat heater btns to be a lot more prominent vs. hiding it far below where you could barely see it. Basically, TONS of improvements from this 2019 Liftback -- fixes to all your complaints in Sofya's 2017 Prime video (every year they just keep getting better). Also, the Prime you also get to drive in the HOV lane which is really cool! (I met a guy who has the Prime and he can drive 2,000 km on a tank of gas -- impressive!) Sofya you should do a 2020 version for both Liftback and Prime (even comparing the two), I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how they've evolved!
I love the gas mileage that these cars bring to the table. However, my main complaint about most hybrids is why does it look so different. If manufacturers made most hybrids look like a normal car, I’m pretty sure they’d sell better. Something like the Camry or accord hybrid would be a lot more enticing than something that looks like a rejected gundam.
I have a 2015 Prius C that I got 2 yrs ago from Hertz car sales. To deal with the slow acceleration I put a big sticker on the bumper that says, “CAUTION slow moving vehicle” 😊. I get 53 mpg, you gotta give something up....my other vehicle is an F-150 w the bigger twin turbo. Btw, the Prius C only cost a little over $11k.
I owned 2 Prius's and loved them both. Later I had a Ford C-max Titanium and it was more amazing. It had 188 HP and superb driving dynamics. I predict that the Prius will be discontinued with inevitable introduction on a Corolla hybrid.
I personally am not necessarily a Prius fan, but I always thought they clever cars, and one of the best commuter cars. That said, I think this Prius can use a major redesign, and it just looks worse than past Prii in my opinion. And honestly, I feel like upgrading the looks of it will attract more buyers, and so would adding more electric power to make the car more efficient and more torquey. However, I’m really curious about the AWD-e. Not only can that improve traction and its all-weather capability, but I think the additional motor can make the car quicker, and possibly address the sluggishness of this one. Not that it matters, I think the refresh looks even worse.
I looked up prices in the DC area on Autotrader for the Touring trim of the Prius and got a lot of results in the $30K range. The Accord Hybrid can be had for about the same price in the EX and even EX-L trim. If I were shopping for a hybrid in that price range, the choice would be automatic.
I drive an '05 Prius and have zero desire to buy another one. Just waiting until this one gives up the ghost, then I'll move on to something less complex and easier to repair. The Prius is very reliable but it's also a nightmare to diagnose and do DIY repairs on when something does go wrong.
I wish we could talk a little bit about the Prius in Japan... It's essentially their "Camry" over there; it's incredibly ubiquitous, and you wouldn't be able to pigeon-hole its drivers. Now, I used to think it looked terrible too, but I spent a week with one touring Japan, and I came to love it, very surprisingly. Even though other regular cars have Hybrid versions, the Prius definitely still has its positive quirks, and boy, that efficiency. Plus, this was kinda the first "weird" Toyota design, and now they're starting to transfer that to a bunch of new models (C-HR, Supra, and even the Camry).
I'm a mopar guy and I just don't get why people hate on the Prius so much. I mean it's not a bad car yeah there most idiot drivers drive the prius but the car has nothing to blame a car just does what you want it to do. Good review!
The '19 RAV4 Hybrid will cannibalize sales of these. Getting 39 on a RAV4 should be easy. Getting 56 (Eco) or 52 (non-AWD Prius) you better drive like a Grandma or tons of freeway.
Prius performance varies depending on the state of the battery. When fully charged, Prius has pretty kicking acceleration. There's still the rubber band effect from the CVT, but it's not too bad. Certainly you're not going to beat a sports car off the lights, but I've got decent acceleration out of my 2nd gen.
I think part of the problem is that the world has moved on. What used to be a super fuel efficient car that had no true competitors now has some serious competition that’s eating into Prius sales.
Prius' around here don't block the left lane, they do 80 in the HOV. I'm actually OK with the styling especially as it has a purpose of being slippery in the wind. The acceleration times though would be tough to get on the parkways with short on-ramps as we have around here.
Your point about EVs is a good one at the end of the video, which is why the only way that Toyota is going to remain in business with their hybrid range as EVs start to come onto the market, is to find a way to radically reduce the price, so that hybrids become on parity with ICE cars. Otherwise they're just not going to sell.
It took me years to adapt myself to the looks of the first generation Prius. When I finally reached the point of not throwing up in my mouth a little when I saw one, Toyota introduced subsequent versions. All I can say is that if a spaceship from a 1930's Flash Gordon serial is your idea of a beautiful vehicle you'll love the Prius.
just upgraded to a plug-in hybrid over a regular hybrid, wow, what a difference. If you're considering a hybrid get a plug-in, don't even bother with a regular hybrid. First commute home from work I got 150mpg and it would have been much higher but i wasn't on a full charge.
Fuel efficient cars (hybrids and EV's) will see a sales increase if they design their cars less quirky and futuristic. It's only common sense.

Additionally, you never ever want to be in a situation where you're actually going _faster_ that the car claims
Also makes it nearly impossible for a rogue fed to claim you were doing slightly over the speed-limit if your car is indicating that you're going at 50mph, for example.
Hy guys check this video about v8 gran turismo's: ua-cam.com/video/eWDPfHvZPsI/v-deo.html
what mean Sofyan?
So many people saying this is ugly. Apparently no one's seen the Honda Clarity. That monstrosity makes this look normal.
I think the Prius looks pretty nice. I don't get why people always harping on the looks.
have an 2018 Four with the screen and love it.. 1600ish miles a month and its like $64 top run the car (i do 80mph on my commute) As for the looks.. people want a unique looking car and this is unique.. you know what it is on the road and don't confuse it with a generic sedan or SUV.
Any problems? I'm thinking of gettinf one
The looks have grown on me, though admittedly, I'm in the minority. At night, the LED light pipe rear tail lights are quite fetching. And 65 cubic feet with the seats down with that huge opening is fantastic.
Fetching, or retching?
Am I the only one who likes the look of this car?
the car is fine, the whole sedan market is crashing, idiots buying pickup trucks as daily drivers, ppl dont care about saving gas lower emissions etc. toyota needs to keep going, the truck market will crash eventually
JogBird All the moms buying SUVs is a bit worse in my opinion
Well it’s mostly crossovers. They’ve become just as fuel efficient while giving you space to store all your crap.
GS979 well not really. There’s also it’s reliability, build quality, how it’s priced in comparison to its competitors, etc.
Theres additional factors like comfort, reliability, quality of parts, space, towing capacity, safety features, price..
@@andrewschulzsd no shit ! Really??
I absolutely love the Toyota Prius. Fantastic car.
The car is ugly despite having a decent gas mileage. If Toyota would just trash the entire design of the vehicle and make it a conventional style, I'm sure it would sell better.
Sadly this is actually right in line with the rest of Toyota's design language right now.
Harrison Koch It is too overstyled. The Prius has been always terrible looking anyway just in my opinion
The whole prius nameplate is too much for them to recover from. Toyota needs something fresh.
@@harz426 it may be in line but that doesnt mean it cant look better. The new camry xse and corolla hatch look miles better than this car.
Instead, just buy a Camry Hybrid LE which is faster, much better looking, and gets about the same MPG
Uh the swirl marks on a brand new car 😢
TheExotich1 I know almost made me puke!
its a review car
Lmao I was cringing when I saw that during the walk around
It's a Prius. There's millions of things. Not a collectible exotic.
I thought I was the only one who saw those!😭
The new AWD one doesn’t look that bad tho...ummmmm
2017 version has same face
Royhan Facelift looks a little ok but still weird looking. The new Prius sales are terrible
The nickel hydride battery is recommended in cold areas. The lithium ion batteries do not handle winter well.
I just got this car today and i love it!
Don’t forget with Toyota you don’t need to keep your tow truck company on speed dial.
what is speed dial?
@@drummergeorge9642 what I have your mother on!
It's personal opinion. I love the look of my 2018!
I honestly like it
I do not understand why anyone would get a prius now when you get roughly the same mpg with a camry and i think the avalon. People use to get these because of the better mileage then traditional toyota vehicles. So this car makes no sense now.
Tayshawn Price you won’t get the same city mpg or in stop and go traffic
The 2019 Prius with AWD-e gets 50 combined MPG. Last I checked you couldn't get AWD with any Toyota Corolla. 50 MPG with AWD is a serious accomplishment. I have hated Prii all my life but with the 2019 model with AWD-e on the horizon I am seriously considering getting one.
Tayshawn Price Also the hatchback design is so practical for hauling stuff. You can transport an amazing amount of cargo with the rear seat folded down.
Shoulda stopped at why anyone would get a prius
Actually, the Prius will convert into a wonderful camper with a Prius Habitent. I love my 2017 Prius.
this car got me through undergrad
They gave you a scratched up 2018 model to review when the 2019 model year is already on sale with awd-e ??? Wow
Same junks tesla is better
@@mryusuf6086 Not! 😂
That black skirt body kit with the dark metalgun 17"rims make the car looks MEAN! I love it.
Only Sofyan could make a tampon on wheels review interesting to watch
not gonna lie i think this is the best looking prius thus far. the red 2019 briefly shown looks dated and worse
I have an 18 prius, 46K miles. Zero issues, easy to maintain, avg 57.2 mpg. I will buy another prius to use as ED and keep truck for as needed!
The front end actually looks decent. It's the side profile and rear that ruin it...
Dude shut up about it being "ugly" I actually really like it.
The Prius is very much like the Milhouse of the automotive world. "But my mom says I'm cool" comes to mind with this thing...
(I met a guy who has the Prime and he can drive 2,000 km on a tank of gas -- impressive!)
Sofya you should do a 2020 version for both Liftback and Prime (even comparing the two), I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on how they've evolved!
I just loved that you used the term Prii 😂
I love the gas mileage that these cars bring to the table. However, my main complaint about most hybrids is why does it look so different. If manufacturers made most hybrids look like a normal car, I’m pretty sure they’d sell better. Something like the Camry or accord hybrid would be a lot more enticing than something that looks like a rejected gundam.
Honda Insight. 'nuff said.
Honda Insight Touring is the way to go.
My 2018 prius 2 unlocks when I just walk up to it.
I love everything about it I love the way they look they can say what they want it's the Best and they really know it!!!
Maybe I'm weird, but I don't think this Prius looks bad: Not nearly as bad as most make it sound.
The way this Prius look is the best!! Really aggressive face in the front and aggressive space ship lights in the back
*IT NEEDS A 3" LIFT KIT FOR THE WINTER*
I have a 2015 Prius C that I got 2 yrs ago from Hertz car sales. To deal with the slow acceleration I put a big sticker on the bumper that says, “CAUTION slow moving vehicle” 😊. I get 53 mpg, you gotta give something up....my other vehicle is an F-150 w the bigger twin turbo. Btw, the Prius C only cost a little over $11k.
i like this better than the 2019 emergency facelift
prius is more for driving in town not the hwy
Me: Hey Google, what's the definition of Hideous?
Google: Toyota Prius
Only a mother could love homely front end as you say....all Toyotas, every model has homely front styling.
Seems like I am the only petrolhead who likes the Prius.
I drive an '05 Prius and have zero desire to buy another one. Just waiting until this one gives up the ghost, then I'll move on to something less complex and easier to repair. The Prius is very reliable but it's also a nightmare to diagnose and do DIY repairs on when something does go wrong.
Can you do a 2020 Prius Prime Review please?!
The whole car is horrible but lot of people care more about gas mileage
Its time for a Prius to do total redesign so they can start selling these again.
Sof, will the Prius drive train appear in the new Corolla hybrid?
Bitch, bitch, bitch is all people do, it’s a fucking car. It only has one job, just drive it. If you don’t like it then, fucking walk or take a bus.
I really wanna see your thoughts on the refreshed ILX.
I just saw someone driving one. It looked good.
It's coming soon! Acura is loaning us the car on 1/31
I wish we could talk a little bit about the Prius in Japan...
I love all pri and I really like the looks of the GEN four and I actually prefer the pre-facelift addition.
I actually love the front but hate the back. On the 2019 refresh I feel the front is boring, but the back is vastly improved..
3:21 that’s probably the only angle that doesn’t looks horrible
Prius performance varies depending on the state of the battery. When fully charged, Prius has pretty kicking acceleration. There's still the rubber band effect from the CVT, but it's not too bad. Certainly you're not going to beat a sports car off the lights, but I've got decent acceleration out of my 2nd gen.
Review the 2019 HR-V Sport and the Civic Sport as soon as possible
Front end looks like scuttle fish
Love your video!
Guys for 2020 Toyota is making the Prius look less ugly by making it look like a corolla
I’m loving the intro song!
Oh and the review!
I think part of the problem is that the world has moved on. What used to be a super fuel efficient car that had no true competitors now has some serious competition that’s eating into Prius sales.
styling is not really bad...its just that there is so much competition in hybrid and electric now
I definitely do like the Prius it does look really nice looking
The insight looks a million times better. The Prius looks like a more round iteration of he ‘futuristic’ vehicles in 80’s SCI-FI.
Prius' around here don't block the left lane, they do 80 in the HOV. I'm actually OK with the styling especially as it has a purpose of being slippery in the wind. The acceleration times though would be tough to get on the parkways with short on-ramps as we have around here.
You must be in Dallas 😂
Personally, I like the hands on review of the Honda Insight you did awhile ago🤟🏻
This thing looks gorgeous 😍,
Reuben Agyeman The design is very controversial, I think the previous gen is better
Reuben Agyeman why the fuck u lying
Your point about EVs is a good one at the end of the video, which is why the only way that Toyota is going to remain in business with their hybrid range as EVs start to come onto the market, is to find a way to radically reduce the price, so that hybrids become on parity with ICE cars. Otherwise they're just not going to sell.
WHEN IS NOKIA CAR PLAY COMING OUT?
Please do a review on the 2019 Toyota C-HR!
It looks like a Samurai warrior stabbed a giant jellybean with his sword.
You should do a Hyundai Ioniq hybrid review!!
I understand Toyota reliability is a thing but why would anyone pick this over the Kia Niro, Hyundai Ioniq or Honda Insight is beyond me.
Uh, because Toyota reliability is a thing...
Why a 2018 model & not the refreshed 2019 one?... And I actually prefer the styling of this 2016-18 Prius over the refreshed 2019 one.
Content. His expensive toys don't pay for themselves.
just upgraded to a plug-in hybrid over a regular hybrid, wow, what a difference. If you're considering a hybrid get a plug-in, don't even bother with a regular hybrid. First commute home from work I got 150mpg and it would have been much higher but i wasn't on a full charge.
I would prefer a Plug in Hybrid to a normal hybrid myself but it's looking like the 2019 Prius with AWD-e won't be available as a plug in hybrid.
When are you going to do the prius 2019
How about Prius Prime?
That cruise control stock has been around for 30 years lol. first came out on '90 lexus ls400.
The Prius Prime is much easier on the eyes
It would've been better if it looks like a sedan like the Honda insight but trunk opens like a lift back like the Kia stinger
I like the boost Gage of the Prius
I know this is off topic but i wish honda would offer the honda crv with a hybrid variant
