It seems kind of powerful, but have you really put it to the test? Because the lawn you are using it on is already edged. Have you used it on it a lawn That has not been edged in 5 years?
im liking my Kobalt 80v edger the recent installation i done on it was putting on a Ryobi edger blade as that tears up the edge easier and i changed the wheel to a Pemco Polykat 5 in shopping cart wheel so it rolls more easier during the edging tasks.
I have this edger. The main flaw is that the handle slips around the shaft no matter how much you tighten it. I fixed it by wrapping some electrical tape around the shaft where I put the handle so it had more friction to stay in place.
So, I have two 80volt Cobalt batteries for my mower, leaf blower and hedge trimmer, thinking of buying the edger tool only, they run around $175 . I was using a 24volt Sunjoe trimmer but it took a dump, it lasted less then two years uggh
Hi. I just purchased a 40 volt Kobalt edger. The instructions said not to pull the edger back towards you. Did you find it worked fine moving the edger forward and backwards?
Thanks for showing how to use! I have kobalt weedeater and mower. Love them. Never knew how the manicured sidewalks were done....now I'm going to work on adding to my kobalt collection.
DO NOT BUY. Motor internal housing/mount cracked after 1yr of light residential use. Kobalt will not honor warranty for gifts - must have receipt. F Kobalt and Lowes.
A metal rod is included to lock the blade in place. I just bought one and it arrived today. Used it on the front lawn. It was nice but didnt wow me. Gonna let the battery charge some more, and make a second run. Also the leaf blower just spread the dirt around making a bigger mess. Will have to use the shop vac I think, and mulch whatever it sucks up. Kobalt power tools have been inconsistent for me. The snowblower broke during the second job, and Lowes would not fix it and the local repair shop could not fix it as they could not find the needed parts. The lawn mower has been fantastic for three years with no issues.
Honestly I didn’t have a problem with the Blade that came with the edger I did buy some new blades on eBay that were namebrand but it’s slice through the grass like butter very satisfied with the way my lawn looked after using this tool
Nice looking lawn. Been thinking about this instead of a line trimmer. I actually bought the 40V version and it is a little wonky but it works well. I finally was about to get some decent looking edges around my driveway and the walkway. Much cleaner than a string trimmer. It does well on the curves of the drive which surprised me.
Yes it does. I used the badger attachment. But have to say it's not the greatest, in terms of power. For this type of work I would go has powered or 80v at the minimum
I just bought the 40 volt kobalt from lowes and was discounted to $79 but doesn't come with a battery. Lucky I already had a battery so im happy with my purchase and did well on the edges.

The cobalt 80 volt string trimmer is cheaper but can I replace the string with a 8" blade? anyone??
With an edger you go forward then go backward over the same then go to the next section and repeat especially with thick over growth.

The only complains are a simple, use your own wrench,2# get a grinder and grind the edge of the blade to give it a some what or needed sharp edge
I left my trigger on the battery and I’m not kidding I think the runtime is probably close to 30 minutes or more this battery is ridiculous
The handle can never be tightened, it’s slipping all the time
Boo need complete disassembly

Oh and yes I give this tool a must have it makes your yard look awesome.

I feel like it cleans it better backwards but they must have a reason why we shouldn’t

@ Lowes... Craftsman makes a blower/vacuum kit included! Item #1438114
Thank for the review! I’ve been on the fence about buying one but couldn’t find any videos on it. Think I might just go ahead & get one.
Kool I love mine
I prefer using the Dewalt flexvolt combi unit as my edger.
What replacement blade did you end up getting and how did it compare with the original blade?

Hey I have as question and need help about a shower pan in a house I just bought. Do you have an email where I can send you the picture???????
I tried to place my email in here but it won’t allow it till it blocks it
Thanks for the video. I was so curious about this edger and didn't want to spend $300 on it, not knowing if it works good or not !
Keep your blade from turning
Does anyone know if the kobalt 24v weed eater takes a universal edger attachment? Thanks in advance
I don't know if the 24v one does but the 80v takes all of the universal attachments from the TrimmersPlus line at Lowes
Yes it does. I used the badger attachment. But have to say it's not the greatest, in terms of power. For this type of work I would go has powered or 80v at the minimum
Thanks, very helpful.
Now, if it were only self propelled..
I like mines
