As much as I understand that's not a likeable feature, I think, from talking to some of the devs and loaf, it prevents a lot of running and gunning, as well as a reminder that this is a survival scenario. These survivors you play as are not tier 1 operators. They most likely have never fired a gun before, at least what I think in my head as in game lore.
@@bluetherobot if that were to be the case wouldnt they be better at handling the weapon as time passes on the server? IE Tarkovs "soft skills" i use quotations because they are far from soft LMAO they provide huge advantages over lower level players. but im no tier one operator and i can move across a horizontal plane and keep my sight picture WWWWAAAYYYY more steady than depicted in game. i understand it is for realism sake, but when a player is better at something IRL than in a character that they are forced to play as in a video game (especially if that game is centered around PvP and being competitive) it can become super frustrating. but i do agree the potential is there

Being someone who prefers PvE and rents a DayZ server and so forth, some how I I found Deadside, and its what myself and a friend have bene looking for, the Dayz style game with AI and missions, its what we have been looking for. I've only put 2 hours into the game but I am really enjoying it

I remember playing Deadside when it first came out onto early access… I remember the massive amount of potential the game had and how eager I was to stick with the project and make UA-cam videos on how to better the game constructively. I remember engaging with a community that was just barely hanging onto 700/800 players and rallying for hope that one day this love project would blossom.
When patch 0.2.0 came out as a lack luster map expansion and new issues with Gportal showed how bad and unpredictable the games servers were I saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship. I still wish great things for Deadside but almost 4 years later I hang my personal hat to the project and don’t see it going anywhere especially considering the core gameplay loop of Deadside is the exact same since April 2020 😅

I keep coming back to the game every few months I really like it and it gets better and better. I'm surprised more people don't play it but I never see it advertised anywhere. I think it could do really well if it got fleshed out more like advancements in weapons base building, survival etc. There's a lot of hype over Gray Zone at the moment which is a similar them to Deadside. A load more development and some good PR and it could do great.
To be honest i just bought the game and i love it, there is ofc still a lot of updates and things to add to the game yes but i like it and it’s also very fun playing with friends. Can’t wait to see the game growth with futures updates

the AI are dumb unless you are out in the open. You can hide corners, or peak the door at bunker for example and wait and shoot through the gap. I still login every day ^
They are actually easy to farm.
have owned the game since release and not to be on the devs D!ck BUT ive loved this game and alll the additions and changes. Been playing "survival" games since Arma 2 dayZ and alike and to see Devs continually update and hone this game is why i will always come back to this game. Deadside needs more love that miscreated never got

I’ve played and really enjoyed DayZ and Tarkov both but Deadside has got my attention now. I’ve been enjoying it thoroughly and I will keep coming back. I think this game has a good future ahead of the devs continue but it’s already more than playable and quite enjoyable!

A spend a few hours playing deadside, but as a DayZ veteran, what struck me is how much it looked exactly like DayZ. Your saying DayZ is showing its age, but to me Deadside looks more or less like a DayZ copy paste job, a lot of the time. The one thing I liked in Deadside was the one thing everyone is yelling at, the NPC enemies. They were always lacking and a bit goofy in DayZ, and seem to be much more interresting in deadside

@@bluetherobot No worries man I never expect replies on comments. I might have to play it more, but I just think the art style, locations and everything seems very similar. I´m not tired of the zombie genre, I still play DayZ religiosly, but I think it suffers from bad AI. If you pvp it lone wolf style, it gets frustrating, because you will get your *ss handed to you by voiced teams over and over again. But if someone who has been playing as long as me moves to a PVE server, Im basicly invinceable, I know how to deal with the inviroment, and I can knife a town of zombies to death.

About Dayz I agreed on that, the mods are keeping it alive
Don't get me wrong, constant updates are a plus, but the in between, the mods being created and thrived upon. That's the real winner here.
This is one of a very few titles that I have purchased multiple copies for other people with every account getting the supporter pack and skins.
I understand the new patch makes the supporter pack less valuable as we all get the extra safe zone space for free now. I just like sending money the devs way in hopes it gelps fund the games development.
I have purchased this game and its DLC stuff 8 times now, and plan to purchase it again for a coworker who has been talking about the game.
Wow. Thats awesome man. You are definitely a huge supporter. Also, the supporter pack still gets more safe zone storage than regular players.
Im having fun as a new player but they need to add small things to keep it interesting such as lanterns (base light sources), vehicles and more in base activities to do. At a point, making money is pointless. You need to be able to pick up and craft boats.
A lot more coming down the pipeline for sure.

Funny enough, working on a 10 tips to help new players in Deadside, but for now, just focus on getting used to the mechanics. Crafting meds, finding water and food for stamina. You can kill deer, then use a knife to skin and get its meat, and cut branches off a bush for fire. Wells and little spickets on the floor can be used for water. The tutorial is helpful, but if you want to ignore it, you can press O and uncheck it. Also craft or buy a radio. Helps when theres AI near by.

I love this game but it really needs cars/ more vehicles and higher server pop the map is too large for the low pops. I think In the future it could be as big as dayz.
Yeah, this is one of those games I would love to see in another 2-3 years, see how it goes.
All I remember about this game was first initial release, I could get killed and run back to my corpse within 30 seconds, thats how small the world was. Good to see how much it has changed.

I quite enjoy it being more simple than DayZ and Scum (the latter is so annoying and the former always sick within minutes of spawning). Its the first game of its class that i can actually survive in for the most part. Ive managed to demolish the convoys 3 times in an hour today though ran out of explosives so the last one did kill me at least 3 times. But still gearing up as i go.
Its a great casual game. Not too many survival games can say that.

Love the game, but I don't feel like there is really a gameplay loop. It doesn't take long at all to get the best gear. Getting food and water is very easy. Once you have everything, you don't really need money or anything else. At that point, the only reason to play is to explore, but it doesn't take long. Just got the game less than a month ago and pretty much got everything and explored the map in less than 30 hours of gameplay. IMO There needs to be more interesting challenges other than clearing a base. Just gets repetitive very fast. But the base game they have is a very solid foundation to build on. I will definitely keep an eye on the future for the game.
Just started playing Deadside, quite new to this genre of game, played STALKER series though during my college years...just bought a decent PC to play games...I must say its really look good and damn hard...I keep dying...I hope the players a bit considerate with new players.

Deadside is really fun, I, that dont have much time to play games like SCUM, loved Deadside and his more arcade approach. But there is a problem. And if you guys played WarZ (Infestation) in the glory days, can understand what I'll say, the towns need to have some importance, in Dayz, Scum, WarZ, the towns are essential to find Meds, canned foods, etc. In Deadside they are becoming important now, but they have to be more, more medical loots in cities, like a hospital building, police department's to find armor and scopes... Because today they are there only to take cover to kill the Case boss, maybe implement some missions inside the cities or a way to claim a house to be your base, and do some barriers around it... only my opinion

Been enjoying the game, Ai is good, normal scavs you can strife easily, military patrols etc are as accurate as they should be. Just been enjoying PVE to get a memorization of the lay of the land before moving to PvP. More relaxed than DayZ, & base building isn't a big head ache. I played ARMA 2 Wastelands back in the day and this brings me back to that. I wish there where more wasteland style servers on DayZ and I don't know why that mod mode isn't more popular but Deadside brings that feel back, I would like to see more base building structure types, one or two supressors for a sniper and assult rifle like the M4. I try to help out freshies on 305 when I can, pay it forward from the guys who helped me.
Well funny enough, the Epoch mod back in the day is the main inspiration for this game.

Its a fun game
The problem with this game, is that it's barren, and the content there is, is fairly simplistic. It's a good game at it's core, but it's bland and doesn't set it's self apart from other, and far more accomplished titles in the genre

Id say it just needs more time in the oven. It really was inspired by the old Arma Epoch mod, and also I'm glad there isn't zombies.

What do you mean nothing happened? Plenty of updates since then. Plus, two of those years, they were working on such a small crew, and are barely any bigger after TinyBuild. Its an indie team, it takes a long time. Years sometimes. This isn't call of duty making a new recycled game every 2 years.
@@bluetherobot But what actual content came with those updates ? Every time I install the game I have the same flat experience. I'm aware of the origins of this game with dayz epoch, which actually has it's origins in arma 2 wastelands mod. That mod was from 2011 and had vastly more features and mechanics than Deadside does. Like I said, Deadside isn't a bad game, it's just a tiny fish in a big ocean of survival games. For the same price people can have Rust or DayZ or Tarkov or Conan, or any of the other survival games. The only real chance for Deadset is if it set out to do something different, or set out to do the things DayZ never achieved, Like fully underground bunker cities and so on. Deadside just basically made 2011 wasteland, but nowhere near as fun, and not a lot ever changed.

Definitely has changed within 2 years. I think the AI is pretty easy as well, it just takes some getting used to the controls.

its a great game but what i dont understand is why someone is not exploring other elements than stay in the woods craft base etc. I wanna see something like a mad max open world survival like this, car based/ boat based whatever. These games ends up looking the same just slightly better/worse each time.

You have to understand that there's nostalgia behind dayz. The only reason that dated, clunky game still dominates is nostalgia and familiarity. A few games have come out that blow it out of the water, scum comes to mind, it seems like none of it matters, people just like dayz.
Scum can be pretty fun, sometimes a bit much, especially when it comes to the health parts, but the gunplay, the environment, top notch.
@bluetherobot Don't forget the animations, I stopped playing Dayz simply based off the horrible movement and animations from the zombies. The health system is a little busy in Scum but they did streamline it. Needing to drink and eat every 5 minutes gets old in Dayz as well.

DayZ old? Are we talking about DayZ from 2024? It's in Enfusion Engine, it's the latest engine from ArmA Reforger. The only thing in DayZ that shows it's age are old assets (some of them - especially in buildings).

Theres only one thing deadside has thats unique and it baffles me people dont tealize what it is. It is the base raiding. The token system they have isnt very good, but deadside proved that having any system at all to prevent offline raiding is better than having no system. This is the ONLY survival game in the entire world that has any system at all designed to stop offline raiding.
Yea. True. Youre very right. I always glaze over that point. It might not be perfect, but its the only game in that genre I can think of that does that.

Im not sure whay everyones complaint is. Just started playing this games and it makes no sense, plenty of other games with lackluster content. Especially ones they keep mentioning are "better" this games is the same as those other games just without the aids. Tons of more quality of life features in this game that promote pvp without the aids of other hardcore survival games
Plus more updates coming down the pipeline. I think 2024 will be a good year for Deadside.

You talk about this potential but it’s just at too slow of a pace. I agree that the game has a good amount of potential and is a great bang for the buck currently, but i they really do need to roll out more substantial updates ie vehicles, just a tad more survival elements, ai, etc.
If you look at the development history, it was very slow the first two, to three years. I would say, after the tinybuild partnership, it has gotten way faster, but it is also a small team, some guys working on 2-3 things that should be more specialized. Its a super small team. Around 10. Just be patient, play other games, check back on it every now and then.
@@bluetherobot Dude, I’m patient and not sweating it. I’m just merely commenting on the subject everyone else is talking about and being honest. Going from very slow to just slow is still slow. I understand they’re a smaller team, but if they game wants to succeed (imo) it really needs to bring something good to the table. And if they can’t do that, they should aim to bring smaller patches just on a more frequent basis.
Again, I really like the game! That’s just something I think (and I’m sure many others) would only elevate it
@brucekhamp6859 trust me, I get it, but from interviewing the community manager Loaf, and being a good friend, after talking about the development, I know there's plenty in the pipeline, and this is just the start. Think of the 1st 2 years as a test, and the most recent years as the true development phase.

Depends. Stay in cover, and dont go out in the open. Easy, Medium missions can be easy to farm, and with more experience, so can hard. Epic can be a bit much.
I dont know about this game, it just does not feel right to me, sad but it is something about the gun play and movement i just cant enjoy. I loved how The cycle movement was, kinda flows , this game does not feel good. Might be me, idk. The map feels flat to. look at the maps the cycle had, very well made.
Its definitely not for everyone. I did like the cycle movement, but too flowy for a hardcore game like this.
lets be honest-deadside development is slow as turtle.Yet they are making pretty nice game.What i dont like is that they do not listen players as SCUM developer do. Tons of players has asked basebuilding update...all we had so far is a tower :D Thats not what we need- we like to have way more complex basebuilding,ofcorse its much to ask to have basebuilding like SCUM now have but something...Its so primitive and boring right now. Also hitting one same tree and build whole base with it is so unrealistic...put some more realism into that game guys
I would like to mention that Scum has had more time for development, plus a bigger team now than Bad Pixel.
Also, its only been two years really since Deadside got a publisher, and its been ramping up with the development speed now.

Also what i wanna point out- if they want to have more playerbase they NEED to give something to players. like i mentioned- more complex basebuilding to keep players busy.I have played this game a lot and i got bored just to run from mission to mission,trader,mission etc
@fboest vein is nowhere close to the development of either scum nor dayz, plus vein comes from some devs of Dead Matter, we all saw how that turned out. Be patient, play other games, and enjoy Deadside
@@bluetherobot well...i have played VEIN and can tell- it works just as good today as Deadside. Iam not comparing it with SCUM i just made it as sample- 2 guys are working on that game and have cars less than year. Deadside has been out 3...4 years by now and still cant implement vehicles. Yes VEIN devs are ex-DeadMatter devs and has done WAY more than this shitty DeadMatter now with whole team and pockets full of money :D
@fboest and for sure, I hope vein succeeds, especially after Dead Matter, but no, vein does not play on the same level as Deadside. Still even more early access.
this game have good gun sounds but dont have ANY ballistic content! bullet dont pierces through anything even 7.62mm doesnt have any PENETRATION to any material, doors, wood, table, enemies, animals, wood wall and nothing in this game act like a realistic bullet should does againt materials and surfaces. turning the experience of fire a real weapon into an AIRSOFT gun. dont have ricochet, dont have ammo check and magazine check destroying the immersion with the unrealistic ammo count! weak gunplay at all! details like these that divide waters when you are firing with realistic weapons in a realistic game simulation
"Wait until the good stuff happens" when the hell is that going to be BTR? let us know something brother. im so sick of a company that pays 20 million dollars for a team to join them, then continues pushing out updates at the SAME EXACT FUCKING PACE that they have in the past. The scav LOS is insane im getting shot thru trees 400m away. that is not "the best state possible" dont take my complaining as me completely hating on deadside, im just fucking fed up with being lied to about roadmaps, that dont get fully completed, were adding pve elements and sure thats nice, but the deadside community has been asking for more guns and events for the ENTIRE year now nothing has been done. we got wolves and wolves ruined the servers. anytime server pop goes over 30+ the rubberbanding just makes the experience unenjoyable.
i LOVE deadside, i hate feeling like the community as a whole is being ignored and they are just putting in whatever they see fit, when in reality the developers DONT PLAY THE GAME. they arent players like us, they develop the game and thats it. im seriously upset about deadsides development over the past year and a half of being partnered with tiny build. extremely disappointing to believe that deadside will take 10 years to develop just to get a game very similar to dayz (a buggy dogshit mess without mods) cuz slowly thats what deadside is becoming. they did a hotfix "fixing" lag and nothing changed.

Actually, a lot of that money didn't go to them. Also, its still a small team. Like, double digits. So patience my friend. Go play other games, forget Deadside even exists, then, just keep checking up on it every now and then. Its an indie game, and they are working on making it a good one.

I loved this game, but sitting here and making the same exact excuses we made in 2020 for this game doesnt make it better than it is. Its a shame.
Star Citizen has made more progress in the last 3 years than Deadside, and people call THAT game a scam.
Funny how people give games such as Star Citizen more of a chance, then games like this. This is indie. It takes time. Years. Small teams, and I'm talking like 10 guys max, if that. They need time. Its why there's barely any marketing, in fact, its just one guy. If you are so impatient with that, go enjoy a new unpolished COD every 2 years.
Also, when you compare Star Citizen, a game that has literally 3 studios behind it, and 620 million plus, I know you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to game development.

You said you should stick around but gave no real reasons why and then tried to downplay DayZ(which i haven't played in years) saying "if it weren't for the mods" like what kind of statement is that.. That's like the pistons in the finals saying yeah but if you didn't have Michael Jordan then i don't think you would have beat us .. ok but they did..

I searched deadside because every couple months I try to find the reason to get into it and your video popped up first. You should take my comment as constructive criticism instead of getting offended that someone on the internet didn't have something positive to say. Good channels blow up and avg to bad channels stay stagnant and die. You have a good voice for these types of videos I believe you can do better.

Game is trash. I’ve deleted and downloaded it 4 times now over the past couple years. Just deleted it for good last week as the updates are boring and lifeless. The new city they added is an absolute joke and the map is so empty along with the player base. I have 100x more fun on DayZ, Project Zomboid, SCUM… Deadside has no future…
