- Quinn Kelsey sings an excerpt from Count Anckarström’s Act I aria in an early dress rehearsal. Production: David Alden. Conductor: Carlo Rizzi. 2023-24 season. Videography by Pete Scalzitti.
Castronovo and Kelsey have exceptional vocal beauty in this Ballo revival.
Since Bergonzi no one has lavish beauty of phrase and tone organically linked with the text as has Castronovo
Quinn sounds astounding!!
I understand that this is rehearsal, and baritone save his full voice to the premiere, but why metropolitan opera put this on the internet?
YES QUINN!!!!
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌💗💗💗💗💗
Pourquoi le MET se met-il à faire des mises en scène modernes que l'on voit partout ? L'opéra ne fera plus rêver !!!
Un'imitazione di Warren.
Pas de tout
why mezza voce? it is not Schubert lieder, it is Verdi...
They did that just to annoy you. Mission accomplished.
Who told you Verdi is all about belting forte and fortissimo? Verdi has some of the softest passages in the operatic repertory and has a lot of subtlety
@@aprendizercomygor is all about singing Verdi music as it is written. Listen and compare this to Bastianini, Cappuccilli, Milnes, Warren etc. There are plenty great Verdi baritone available.
@@operas6 they could do this singing stuff not on stage but at bathroom while taking shower - so noone would be "annoyed".
@@Robbit76 have you seen this production in person or are you basing your critique on the short recording here?
