    MY PROFILE:
    I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride!

    Co - Angling sucks after a while...
    Unless you are still learning, winning, or retired/financially set; just Save yourselves the struggle and just do buddy tournaments if you want to actually have fun and have better winning odds.

    Really great content again. I learned fishing etiquette long ago and being a Co-my approach is, staying positive from start to finish. I have fished 4 events this year and all 8 of my Pro's were great... I had a great day and I believe they all had a great day since all 8 had thier 5 bass limit. I have learned new techniques met knew friends and fished new lakes. I know my role of a Co-Angler which I fully embrace. I do need to work on frog fishing since I really suck at it...

    If I am bed fishing and I am fishing a bed out in front of the boat. Am I wrong and/or breaking a rule by politely asking my co angler, please don't fish on that bed while I am culling?

    I used to fish co side and there’s 1 thing I haven’t heard anyone talk about. The biggest denominator in pro am style fishing is luck of the draw. If you look at any pro am tournament and see who fished with who during the entire tournament, you’ll see that almost every winning co fished with the guys that do well in the tournament. Not saying that you don’t need skills but the draw dictates how you will do. Just my opinion after fishing co side over 5 years

    As someone who has fished the BFLs in multiple states and the Yotas. Success in the co side varies. Keep expectations to a minimum, be a good net man, and look for your opportunity. Staying in your head about what the boater is doing will only inhibit your ability to think about how YOU would approach the environment. Sooner or later you will find things that the guy in front isn’t doing and catch them. However, sometime monkey see, monkey do works, just make sure it’s a technique you are comfortable and confident with. I fished atleast 5 lakes this year completely blind and had opportunities at all of them. You got let the day play out, some events it’s learning, others just fishing, and some teaching what you know to help the guy in front out.

    If a co angler cant cast forward, how else can he cast except backwards. Getting hung up is part of fishing

    I don't think you should have to fish with a co-angler unless you're on a team trail.

    Ok Todd I was with you until you said the co could not cast to the point behind the pro! Now how is he supposed to know where the pro is going to go? Now if he says I am going to hit the back of the cover and then we are going out there!

      I dont think you realize how small of a pocket i'm talking about. Im not going in the pocket, its more of an indention on the bank. I've had guys throw when that boat turns just a bit. Plus im going down the bank for 1/2 mile, you know im gonna keep going.

      @EricL-ki8dn Годину тому

      As a boater and now an occasional co angler … I never fire across the small indent type cuts… and have been told by other co anglers that this always do it… well unless they are busting on top and then we are most likely both throwing at em.

    i hate it when i get a jig hung up and trying to break it off, and it comes lose and fires like a rocket to the pro anglers back. he's not very happy about that for the rest of the day.

      I fished one co angler event in Toyota series at lake Truman. There is a lot of timber in coves. The cove we went in I pre fished with a buddy of mine and we caught fish and they were in the trees. Well I got hung up and was not going to have my pro go over there. I started pulling my line so it would break. I did break my line but it sounded like a gun shot when it broke. Scared the crap out of pro. We both laughed afterwards.

    I would pay more to not have a co-angler.
